LENA’S POV “No… no, no, no!” Leo knelt beside Sienna, his hands pressing against her neck, searching for a pulse. My heart slammed against my ribs as I watched him, my breath coming out in short panicked gasps. She wasn’t dead. She couldn’t be dead. I couldn't have killed my sister. I hadn’t even pushed her that hard. Leo’s shoulders were rigid, his jaw clenched so tight I thought it might snap. Then, after what felt like an eternity, he turned to me. His eyes were filled with pure, unfiltered rage. “You stupid f*****g b***h. You killed her!” He yelled. "No." I shook my head. "She’s dead,” he said, his voice like ice. "What the f**k do you mean no?" My stomach dropped. “Please no.” I shook my head violently. “No, she’s not! She—she just hit her head! Call an ambulance! Maybe she—” “She’s dead, Lena!” Leo roared, rising to his feet. “You killed her! Accept it.” I flinched. Killed. The word sliced through me, leaving me cold and numb. I killed Sienna? No, I couldn't have. I took a shaky step forward, my hands trembling. “Leo, please… I didn’t mean to. I—I just pushed her, I wasn’t thinking! She said—” My voice cracked. “I was angry! But I didn’t mean—” “Oh, spare me your excuses!” he snapped, his face twisted with disgust. “You killed your own sister out of jealousy!” Jealousy. Is that what he called it? A choked sob escaped my lips. “Please, I beg you, I wasn’t—” I swallowed, my throat burning. “I never wanted this, Leo! I swear!” His hands curled into fists. “You were always jealous that you were second to Sienna, weren’t you? Always the one in her shadow. And when she took something from you, you couldn’t handle it. So, you killed her.” Why was he saying this? I and Sienna had our issues but I was never jealous. "You wanted her dead" He continued. “That’s not true!” I pleaded. “I loved her! I never wanted. It was a mistake—” My words crumbled into a sob. Leo’s eyes darkened. “I’m calling the police.” I froze. My husband was calling the police on me? Did this mean i was going to Jail? The image crashed into my mind—cold steel bars, a tiny cell, my baby growing inside me behind prison walls. And then— Being ripped from my arms and given to Leo,. To the man who betrayed me. Because who let you keep a baby in prison? A fresh wave of terror surged through me. Please God No. If Leo found out I was pregnant now, he would definitely take my child and let me rot in a cell for the rest of my life. I couldn’t let that happen. I most definitely wouldn’t let that happen. I had to think and find a way to survive. “Leo, please,” I begged, stepping closer. “Don’t do this. Please, let me explain—” The front door burst open. I spun around, my heart hammering as three large men stormed inside. They were huge—broad shoulders, dark suits, and an air of authority that made my stomach twist. Cops? Leo must have already called them. One of the men, the largest of the three, grabbed my arm in a firm, unyielding grip. “You need to come with us,” he said, his voice deep and commanding. Panic shot through me. “No! Let me go!” I twisted in his grip, but he barely flinched. The other two men stepped forward, closing in. “Don’t fight,” the first man ordered. I did fight. I struggled, kicked, clawed at their hands. “I didn’t mean to hurt her! It was an accident!” But they didn’t care. “Leo please!” I screamed, reaching for him, begging for him to save me He didn’t. He didn't f*****g care. He took a step back, his expression cold and distant. Then—He shoved me away I stumbled, nearly falling, my chest heaving with pain.“You deserve this,” he said. “You deserve worse.” A strangled cry tore from my throat. This man I thought loved me actually hated me. He truly hated me in a way I didn't even understand. “That’s enough,” a new voice cut through the chaos. Everything stopped. I turned my head—and my entire body froze. The man standing at the entrance wasn’t like the others. He was tall, towering over the rest, with dark, wavy hair that framed a face so handsome it didn’t seem real. But it wasn’t his looks that made my breath catch. It was his presence. An overpowering dominance radiated off him, pressing into me like a physical force. His eyes locked onto mine in a piercing way. Then, without hesitation, he stepped forward and grabbed my wrist. Heat. A sudden, searing warmth rushed through my skin at his touch, so strong it nearly stole my breath away. My entire body stilled. A strange, unfamiliar urge crawled through me, like an instinctive, deep-rooted pull to obey him. What the hell was happening to me? “Calm down,” he commanded. I felt inside me react, like my very soul was answering to him. My body went still before I even realized what I was doing. But then—His eyes. A shade of gold flashed in his irises, glowing brightly for just a second. My blood turned to ice. These men— They weren’t cops. They wouldn't have gotten here within the time frame it took for Leo to call them. “No,” I breathed. Fear surged back into me. I twisted in his grip, trying to break free. “Let me go!” I lunged toward Leo. He didn’t reach for me. I begged him with my eyes, desperate for something—anything—but he only gave me a look of pure, cold hatred. The handsome stranger growled lowly. Before I could react, he grabbed me— And lifted me into his arms like I weighed nothing. “Put me down!” I shrieked, thrashing against him. His hold tightened. “You’re coming with me.” My vision became blurry and the world around me spun. Everything became too much—the betrayal, the fear, the overwhelming presence of this stranger, but the last thing I saw before the darkness closed in—was Sienn a. Standing at the top of the staircase. Watching me. Her cold, blue eyes locked onto mine. A slow, eerie smile moved across her lips. I gasped—and then everything went black.
