Chapter 17 Bon Fire

Persephone's POV

After a very scrumptious meal, that I couldn't have attempted to make, even in my best dreams. We spend the whole rest of the night letting it fly by quicker than I ever expected because we are distracted with each others fun company.. but like they say, time really flies by when you're having fun. So we are now finishing up the night by topping it off with serenity.

It's been wonderful being able to just talk and spend time getting to know his family, it really has been.. They have their own wild personalities but in a good way. It's not over powering by any means, but they all balance each other out.. So it's not too much crazy personality in one area. It's fun and lively, so I couldn't be happier about giving this transition a legitimate shot.

Jayce and his whole family are going to make this transition much easier than I ever expected, I can already tell.. I'm sad that Leanne won't be giving me a shot, at least for now, but maybe I can wear her down if anything.. At least a majority is giving me a chance and I guess right now that's all that matters.

We are currently sitting out by a big fire they have put together for all of us to just sit by and enjoy each other's company. It's working completely because I can't help but relax by the hot fire as I stare up at the stars in the endless sky, right next to some great company.

This whole scene in general, makes me feel even more comfortable, since I have never spent time in houses before.. Only makeshift tents and camps. So giving me a good amount of outside and inside, is the best way to help me adjust to the new change. I love how understanding that they seem to be.

They are showing me how great of people all around they are, which surprises me honestly.. Werewolves are labeled as dark, mean, untrustworthy beings and come to find out they are the opposite of that.. I bet there are some that are mean, hence how they got those labels, but luckily the majority I get to spend time with are amazing, so far. This whole experience has been mind blowing for sure. You learn something new everyday just by trying something new because you never know until you try.

I feel a strong arm wrap around my shoulders, as I lean back into it automatically, but strangely I don't feel the sparks between us like I usually do.. This for some reason doesn't feel right.. I don't smell his normal musk that calms me.. I smell a sweet fruity scent.

I slowly glance over to see a grinning ear to ear, Daniel besides me. I roll my eyes as I move away without hesitation and pull his arm out from around me. I then push his arm back over to him gently so he is not latched around me anymore.

I'm getting stares back and forth from his family watching me intently.. I'm not trying to be disrespectful to my mate's family but I don't want this attention from anyone that's not my mate.. So hopefully I don't make his family mad at my reaction. I do see his friends chuckling at him playing around.. or at least I hope it's him playing around.

He can tell that I don't want any part of this because I'm making it completely obvious without having to tell him.. hopefully.. I can see in my peripherals that he is scooting closer to me, I swiftly scoot away without missing a beat to his movement.

"Come on, Percy.. I'm just playing.. It was a joke." He says to me because he doesn't think I understand but I do.

I make sure to state to him, "Well your brother means more to me than you will know and I won't have him thinking that there's anything between us.. especially when I have told you there won't be and that I'm not interested.. I don't want him to ever think he can't trust me.. even with just a joke, that thought alone, could put that idea into the back of his mind.. and I won't have that." I tell him not caring who hears this because they all need to know first and foremost who I'm here for. I will put the pack first as much as I can, but my mate will always be number one to me.. He is the only reason I'm here in the first place.. Besides, everyone knows how special and rare mates are so I won't squander this opportunity.

"That's right! and exactly what I wanted to hear.. now move your ass.. before I make you move it." Jayce says behind Daniel but he doesn't move from the rock, he just scoots closer to me as I roll my eyes again in response. So without a second to lose, Jayce pushes him off the medium sized boulder we are sitting on. He falls to his butt on the ground making the rest of the family laugh at that.

Jayce circles around, sitting down where Daniel just was, wrapping his arm around my shoulders.. This time it feels right, I can feel those sparks and smell his intoxicating natural musk calming me instantly. I close my eyes and lean into his body just melting into his frame. When I lean into him like this I feel like we just fit perfect together, as if we really were made for each other.

So after all the playing around, messing with each other, we all sit in a comfortable silence along with talking here and there.. but everyone is relaxed and ready to lay down for the night. One by one each person says their good nights to the group left by the fire and slowly wanders inside.. until it's just my mate and I left.

I let out a deep breathe relaxing more than I thought was possible in his hold. "So.. Do you like my family? They're a little overbearing but still nice and lots of fun." He tries to explain to me as I just smile up at him.

The first thing that's noticed besides his question is that his eyes are almost glowing under the moonlight, making them more beautiful then I have ever really noticed before.. Especially since this is almost the closest I have been with him.. and the most comfortable. This is nice to have this time with him.. I will cherish moments like this for as long as I can.

I stare at him for a longer than expected moment, causing his face to turn to worry at my pausing and not answering him right away, I assume. So I quickly have to shake myself out of the trance that my mesmerizing man has put me into, to explain to him so he doesn't feel bad.

"They seem so perfect, they're so much fun... But I have to say, I really like seeing this family side to you.. it's.. very enticing." I stare up at him as a smirk appears across his face directed right at me and I wouldn't have it any other way. I bite my lip as I keep staring deep into his eyes that I can now see sparkles from the reflections of the stars above in them.

"Well.. you know.. You can be apart of this family.. If you really do want to.. But that does mean to be with me and even my crazy family forever.. Do you think you can handle that?" He asks me in a playful tone that makes me smile bigger as I state for him to hear. "Challenge accepted.. Bring that life on because I'm ready for it.. I'm all yours Alpha."

Have you ever said anything and knew in that moment, that it was the perfect way of saying the right words? That's how I felt in this moment, I had a sexy tone to it and felt sexy while saying it.. After those words leave my mouth, I can hear a purring coming from his chest that makes me smile bigger knowing I'm doing something he likes.

"That was unbelievably.. sexy.." He states grabbing my cheeks into his huge hands, before crashing his lips to mine. My lips attack his in a fight for the taste we have both been craving for, but holding back from.. for one reason or another. We kiss with so much hunger I have never experienced before, making his tantalizing kiss intoxicating beyond belief.

He leans into me more as his body rotates and now hovers over me almost pinning me. He makes me feel so tiny under the pressure but I don't want to move one inch from this place.. and I think he knows it.

Being a fae on the run every single day, leaves me no time to have a personal life so this is all new to me.. but for some reason my body just moves on it's own, like it has done this plenty of times. I have had some experiences for sure, but not enough to say I'm experienced.

His lips leave mine to my dismay but that opinion quickly changes because it's not a bad thing apparently.. I feel his lips trailing down from my lips to my jawline and slowly down the curve of my neck. Latching his soft touch to the particular marking area and I don't mind one bit because it feels amazing under his gentle touch.

I can't help but let out a light moan from his tantalizing kiss that causes him to purr from his chest so I can feel it through my body. That vibrating sensation accompanied by his touch is something I never would have expected to feel amazing... but it somehow does and I don't regret this one bit.

His arms wrap tight around my body pulling me into his protective frame more, even though I didn't think that was possible.. He breaks our kiss and looking down at me in his arms. "I'm sorry I'm not trying to pressure you at all." He says breathing hard but so am I because we both were loving what was happening getting carried away in the moment.

"That was amazing.. There is no pressure.. I have honestly never had something that enthralling and I would love that with you until the end of time. You're something else." I state to him making sure he knows that I'm loving this as much as he is, so hopefully he doesn't feel bad.

"I just can't seem to keep my hands from you but I never want to pressure you into anything, especially if you have never done this before.. So I'll calm down and wait until you're ready for this big step between us.. No matter what my stubborn s*x-crazed wolf thinks." He states for me and I'm honestly sad about that.. but he is probably right.. I had only just met him so I probably shouldn't rush into this next step with him.. No matter how bad we both want to.

I let out a deep breath and nodding with him about this. I watch him stand reluctantly but extending his hand to me. I willingly take it as he helps me up, then leading me inside of the house after putting the fire out of course.

He quietly leads me down the hallway on the opposite side of the house, that I saw most the people walk into when they left us.. and it doesn't look like there are many rooms on this end curiously enough. He takes me to this door as he opens it for us to enter but I wait for him to go in first out of nervousness honestly. He leads me in slowly, because I think he is nervous just like I am.

Once we get into the more spacious then expected room, I can see that there is only one bed to lay upon which gets my heart racing. "You can get comfortable and I'll grab you something to wear." He states to me leaving the main room to a smaller one where there is apparently clothing to wear.. I nod at him then taking a look around the mostly wooden made room.

It's beautiful in here and not exactly what I expected I guess, but fits him well.. I wouldn't mind staying in here with him, but maybe there is a different place he needs for me to stay at.. I don't know how this works or the rules for mates.. but we can learn this together as we go.
