Chapter 4 Help from my Friend

Jayce's POV

I follow through the trees besides her, but not close enough to get her attention. I'm still way to nervous to say anything.. What do I say to her without freaking her out completely? I observe while she sneaks through the trees as quietly as a breeze, inching closer to the water. I do just the same, trying to make sure I keep up with her. I just need her in my line of sight until I get enough confidence to say something.

She looks all around her, multiple times, making sure there is no one around as she takes her satchel off setting it down besides the big boulder, right by the edge of the water, just at her side. She unties her top taking it off and setting it besides her bag as my mouth drops open. I feel as if I shouldn't stare at this since she obviously thinks she is alone.. I see her bottoms being taken by the waist band and slowly being pulled down and there is no way that I'm not watching this now.. just try to come between me and my line of sight and see what happens to you.

I watch every last curve coming into view just loving it all. I can't help but lick my chops at the sight before me. "yum.. stop being a wuss and get us our girl over there! I need to be apart of that!" Milo demands from me as I roll my eyes. I shift into my human form to head over there and hopefully join.. But she obviously won't recognize me though, now that's a problem.. how do I fix that issue? Maybe I come out as the wolf then shift in front of her so she automatically knows.. Maybe I just talk to her like a human being does using my honesty and words.. and just hope she accepts me.

She steps out of her clothing, taking it to the water to wash her clothing off before setting it out to hang dry. I watch her wings start to really flutter picking her feet off of the ground only by a couple inches as she walks out onto the water.. and yes I meant ONTO.. She steps out across the top of the water as if it's just glass or if she weighs nothing, just floating across the top.

I watch her get about 10 or so feet out as she jumps up, spinning then diving into the water. making it look more elegant than anything I have ever seen, she adds a type of finess to the swimming scene.

I watch the moonlight flutter across the top of the water with the ripples from her jumping in. I wait and she doesn't come out... I wait more and she doesn't come back up.

I feel my heart begin to race wondering if there is something wrong.. There must be, because what other reason is there that she is not up out of the water just yet? I stand up stepping out to go get her as I see her body start to slowly be exposed as she walks out of the water looking just fine, so I step back into the treeline not knowing what to say now. Getting scared once again at the thought of her seeing me.

The moonlight just beats off of her skin surrounding her, looking as if she is just outlined in a luminescent silver as the rest of her is almost blacked out from the darkness. Being able to see her silhouette on the beach is one of the sexiest sights I have ever seen in my entire life, just making me drool at that sight alone.

She turns around sitting down on the beach with just her feet barely into the water. She sits there washing her thigh off touching what looks to be a scar there. I intently watch her every movement because anything she does seems to be the most intriguing movements from a creature ever.

I decide this is it, that I'm going to say something to her. I step out in all my nude glory because I didn't bring any garments with me.. but it's ok because she is nude too.

I inch closer not knowing how to start this as she yelps out in suprise, gaining my attention, I see a tentacle wrapping around her leg and dragging her into the water. I reach down quickly grabbing hold of her forearms startling her because it's not like she knew I was there.

I see the panic in her eyes as she looks up at me, gripping my arms tighter as I instinctively do the same to hers, turning this into a game of 'tug of war.'

This goes on for a minute until the monster from deep within tugs us abruptly, catching the both of us completely off guard. We are now being drug into the water as we gasp for air before heading in full speed. We splash through the wall of water at a speed I never realized was possible, pulling us both underneath without issue. I'm not letting go of her nor is she letting go of me. I guess if we are going down we are going down together.

I pull myself through the thick heavy water, using her body as my anchor, until she is pressed into my side. I wrap my arm tight around her body as I feel her wrap her arms around my torso as well, holding on for dear life. So I extend my claws on my open hand, cutting the tentacle that has hold of her leg until watching the injured tentacle whip away from us, not liking that attack one bit. I take my open arm that's not holding her and using it to help push us to the top to get some air.

We break through the top of the water as we both gasp and sucking in deep breaths, trying to fill our now strained and empty lungs, with the cool night air to sooth our rapidly beating hearts.

We bob and float above the water as I take a look around trying to figure out where we are at. That is until I hear little splashing coming from besides me. It's her wings fluttering so fast helping us push through the water towards where we came from, I'm assuming.

We keep going for a minute until we end up back on the beach next to her things. I pull the both of us out of the water as we flop onto our backs on the beach still catching our breathes feeling as if we are enlessly panting. We glance at each other as we both chuckle, still taking deep breathes. She sits up on her elbows looking over at me as she bluntly asks. "What are you doing here Alpha?"

Confusion is apparent across my face as I ask. "How did you know it was me Fae?" I ask her as she rolls her eyes. "My name is Persephone so if you're going to follow me, then I would prefer if you used it.. I knew it was you because I can see your aura, light and dark.. Now why would you follow me here? Then save me? You could have just let that thing eat me.. why help?" She bluntly asks me as I chuckle knowing she is like me and straight to the point.

"You know, most would say thank you." I state to her as she stares at me for a moment, not arguing but then standing up. I watch every last curve move as she stands. She is so delectable that I just want to take a bite, getting a taste of those curves.. She grabs out a garment throwing it in to cover up my amazing view, before turning around and stating. "Well most aren't hunted for game or selfishness, being tortured for fun or other gain.. So I have the right to be suspicious.. You're right though.. Yhank you for risking your life for me... But why?" She asks me as she flutters her fingers around her hair as it pins up out of her face.

My mouth opens and shuts staring at her, knowing I have the answers, but too scared to say anything. She is right though and has all the reason in this dark world to be suspicious of what I'm doing there.

"So just tell her the truth then so she won't be freaked out, you scardy pup!" Milo demands from me as I just can't seem to get out the words. I have never in my life felt this nervous or never been able to articulate a sentence to someone. So I just glance over and observe as she whisps her hands around some leaves as they poof then turn into a clothes garment. She tosses it over to me after glancing down at my member then turning away to give me a moment.

I slip the cloth half way up my leg, it's a short cut garment on as I state, "Thank you for making that.. I'm sorry if I was making you uncomfortable."

She giggles looking over at me only for a moment saying under her breath but just enough that I can hear. "It's making me uncomfortable in a different way, but more of just distracted."

I chuckle at that gaining her attention as she throws her satchel over her head and arm, turning around and walking away from me. I quickly jump to, galloping behind her because I just got her, so I'm not attempting to leave her or hopefully with her, until I have the guts to tell her why I'm here.

"Ok.. So since you're not going to tell me why you're following me.. Could you at least tell me who you are, so I can put a face to the name?" She asks glancing over at me as I sheepishly grin rubbing the back of my neck before saying. "Yes of course Persephone, hello I'm Alpha Jayce of the Moonrise Pack." I extend my hand to her as she willingly takes it, before bowing to me then replying. "Pleasure to make your acquaintance Alpha Jayce."

I pick her face up so she is looking at me as I ask softly. "Please don't bow to me." I ask and almost beg her and I think she can see this in my eyes as she looks even more confused. "But your above me.. You're an Alpha and it's only out of respect." She tries to explain why she did it but I already know why. I just shake my head, stating in hopes she will understand what I'm saying. "No you're equal to me."

She laughs outloud at this statement as she exclaims, "You must have been without air for far too long Alpha Jayce.." She continues her trek away from me as I just continue to follow. Hating on myself for not taking my multiple chances to say something to her. So I just decide to change the subject matter if I'm going to be a wuss.

"So tell me Persephone.. Why are you in this area? You obviously know the importance of your precence and yet you still put your life at risk.. why?" I ask her curiously. She glances over at me squinting her eyes as I watch her gaze bounce all over my face, as if trying to read my features.

"Well my clan all dedicated ourselves to healing for good.. to saving these areas no matter how dark they got because no matter what there will ALWAYS be someone here that's in need of help.. It's these times that they need help the most, because this is when no one stays out.. So what better time to help then now?" She explains to me as I nod in understanding of her lifelong commitment for the safety of others which is exactly like I'm doing for my pack.

"So who were you helping when we ran into you? The Cyclops?" I ask curiously as she shakes her head explaining. "That Cyclops had hurt a Pegasus and I was helping him so he could survive.. right when I healed him and told him the way out the Cyclops was mad at me for releasing his dinner.. So he was planning on eating me before you and your warriors showed up." I nod at her continuing this trek with her to who knows where.

"Well Mr. Mysterious Alpha Jayce.. I need some sleep so that's what I plan to do, but I don't know what your planning." She states to me as she builds a fire then with a flick of the wrist a fire starts within the middle of the pile, setting the wood on fire.

"Well if you don't mind Persephone, may I stay with you? Overnight that is?" I curiously ask her as she stares at me for a moment then nodding.

"Ok but I'm warning you Alpha Jayce, if there is any threat throughout your time here, I will be forced to use my magic. I don't want to use it on you unless I have to, but that doesn't mean I won't use it." She has so much warning in her voice towards me as I nod in understanding. I watch her lay her head down on her satchel bundling up into a little ball on the ground. Her wings fluttering once maybe twice until they lay down flat across her back. Looking more relaxed then I have ever seen her.

I lean up against a tree that's right by her as I set my head back and close my eyes just enjoying this calming moment of peace with her at my side. I know she doesn't know about me just yet, but I already feel that we are comfortable around each other enough for her to at least let me stay here with her because of it.
