HER ELEMENT

The night was really short, Sadie turned continuously on her bed she couldn't hold her excitement in. Waking up isn't going to be like every other day that she has to tend to her siblings or parents' needs, Sadie was finally free, she couldn't contain the joy of going to college, the joy of being away from home engulfed her deeply. “Sadie, Sadie” Her mother called her deep in her short slumber, “yes mom” Sadie jumped off her bed in excitement looking unkept in her extremely messy bun, she cleans her bed, had her bath and carefully romanticized her bathroom one last time before stepping out. She undergoes her skin care routine, packs her hair in a ponytail and slips into a blue and white striped top with a blue jeans trouser. “You want to be late for your clearance? “ her mother asks her as she catches her breath from running after Raymond, Sadie's younger brother just to get him to eat breakfast. Sadie reached out for a toast and carefully shoved it down her throat with a glass of juice before paying attention to anything anyone had to say. “I can't be late for my clearance, it's still very early in the morning and they don't start until noon, moreover i can check in any time” Sadie answers calmly as she hides her excitement. “Alex come get your sister's luggages and load them in your dad's trunk” Sadie's mom ceremonially shouts, grumpy Alex who wasn't having it had no choice than to help his sister, deep down he was worried about his newly found responsibility in the absence of Sadie but he believes he'll adapt quicker than expected. Sadie's dad comes down in casual clothing, beaming in excitement about his daughter's new life in high school. “Okay guys wrap it up, and get in the car” Sadie's mom seriously reminds them about the situation on ground down so Sadie doesn't miss her flight. They all set out for the airport, immediately she got there she went through the normal airport process, after all that she went to her family and gave them a long hug showing how she's going to miss them. They bid her farewell as her figure slowly disappeared into the airport crowd. Campus air was new but fresh, Sadie was really eager about her new life, she checked into her hostel and a new life began. Sadie's main goal was to maintain her grades as a stellar student and still had it at the back of her mind to explore. *knock knock* “come in” Sadie said, she saw two black boxes creep in slowly followed by a soft baby looking hands “hi, I'm Miranda your new room mate” Miranda said as she gave an iconic entry into the room. Sadie couldn't help but stare, in front of her stood a light skinned, 5’9 blonde girl, wearing a short skirt that accentuated her curves accompanied with a top that highlighted her blossom features. “Oh hi I'm Sadie nice to meet you” she replied after her quick observation and admiration. Maybe this is the beginning of her journey, who knows, or it's too early, she thought? “I'm a freshman, please tell me you're one too” Sadie said enthusiastically “uhh I'm not, I'm a sophomore instead” Miranda grinned timidly “that's chill either ways” Sadie replied. They unpacked their luggages together and shared few friendly experiences First week happens to be freshman week, filled with many orientation, parties and few other engaging activities. Sadie was really excited and it really wasn't tough for her to navigate her way around because she was social. First activity was an orientation, they were all told to meet at the school auditorium from all fields of study. Sadie navigated her way with ease even though she was alone,they all took their respective seats and waited for the administrator. “They are always late” Theresa mumbled, Sadie looked to her right hand side, glanced for a while and said “how do you know?” Theresa looked at her and said “my sis told me, i mean….. this obviously looks normal, no one seems bothered” Theresa said as she shrugged, Sadie replied “you seem to have a point, i agree with you” . The administrator came in, the orientation went as planned and they all set to leave after it ended, “wanna go out for a drink, you seem cool” Theresa asked Sadie, Sadie paused for a while, quickly thought about it and agreed. It was a first night out without her family member, she hopes she doesn't mess it up. Sadie looked around while sitting at the pub, her first time in such an environment she didn't make it obvious, casually stared as Theresa ordered for the drinks. “Few of my friends will be coming along if you don't mind” Theresa said, “I'm okay with it” Sadie nodded in affirmation, deep in her heart she was happy about it. Maybe Sadie is just taking a closer glance at Theresa in her cargo pants and crop top, casually dressed for the night, her hair tied in a ponytail bringing out her facial features and her naturally blushed cheeks that makes her so beautiful. What a sight to behold, she nodded in her mind. “Tessa!!” Someone called out behind them, they both looked back respectively, to Sadie it was really a sight to behold, she has never seen a man with so much highlighted features, putting on a tank top that clearly flex his well built body, his jawline sharp like two edged swords resting below his moisturised thin lips, his gently pointed noise and captivating eyes were really perfect to match the vibe. She didn't know if she had fallen at that moment but she was clearly drawn. “Austin hii” Sadie heard loudly midst her thoughts, “Hey Tessa, been a while since we hung out i definitely didn't want to miss this” Tessa nodded firmly looking at him “so..???” Austin stood with his hands on his waist, short of words and not knowing what to say exactly to his friend “well never mind” he said as he gently turns to Sadie “You must be Sadie, don't be surprised as to how i knew your name, she told me she had company” not showing any expression Sadie replied “Oh nice to meet you then” Austin gently stretched his hand and smiled softly “Pleasure is mine Sadie”. Sadie gently took his hand,stared at him for a while before she withdrew her gaze. Tessa on the other hand was bothering about what to order for them all including her other friends that were to arrive, she really takes it upon herself to entertain her friends and never wants to make a mistake. Austin looked around couldn't help but be surprised at the fact the he was early “where are others?” He asked “definitely on their way” busy Tessa replied. Sadie undergoing complex emotions dared not say a thing, she was really anxious to meet new people, somewhat scared but still excited. “Shenanigans!!!!!” three voices hollered at the background, “ugh!! don't throw tantrums please” Tessa said cautiously. Alex, Brenda and Christopher coincidentally met on the way and of course decided to make it a big deal. Alex an ever shining blonde threw his smile at everyone and warmly introduced himself to Sadie, Brenda must have had a little attitude towards Sadie but subtly showed it, Sadie on the other hand who was full of life didn't feel bothered, Christopher warmly greeted her and went on about his night. Austin on the other hand couldn't take his eyes of Sadie, he spent part of the night thinking about her but he couldn't exactly describe what he was feeling.
