chapter seventeen

Blake  I had no fifth period, so I can go home early. Which didn't really matter since I skipped school a lot anyways.  Earlier, I told Ella part of the reason why I broke up with Hailee. Yes, I did break up with her because we had it coming, but the main reason was for what she did to Ella. Usually when Hailee bullied some nerd, I didn't care. In fact, I didn't give two f***s. But, with Ella, it was different. I was angry and I wanted to do so much more than just break up with her. She deserved more than that. I slipped my AP Biology book into my bookbag and zipped it up. I closed my locker and headed outside of the school, going to my motorcycle.  I was ready to get home, smoke and play the game. It's not like I have something better to do.  Surprisingly, no one was throwing a party this weekend. Probably because Ciara and Tiara threw one last Friday, before school started. But still. "Blake!"  I heard Ace calling my name, causing me to turn around to see a football coming my way. I jogged backwards and caught the spiral before throwing it back to Ace who was coming my way with Grayson behind him and Jonah beside him.  "Ah, good arm." Ace groaned. "Well, that is why he's captain." Jonah said.  "What up, yall." I said, leaning against a random car. "I'm throwing a little uh, football gathering, I could say. Uh, you coming?" Grayson asked. "Isn't your sister going to be there? That probably means Hailee will be there." I stated, pulling out a cigarette, unconsciously looking for Ella. Ever since Ella threw away my pack, whenever I pull out a cigarette I look to make sure Ella is around so I can put the pack away before she tosses the b***h. "My sister will be there but not Gracie. She's going to Hailee's for some uh girls night. At least that's what I think she said." Grayson said, in deep thought. "So Ella will be there?" Jonah asked. "Yeah. She never goes anywhere." Grayson said, shrugging. "Do you think she's a virgin?" Jonah asked, almost like he was daydreaming about her. Before anyone could blink, I had Jonah's shirt in my hands.  "What the f**k did you just say?" I asked in a low voice. His eyes were wide and he was blinking, fear was written all over his face. "N-Nothing, Blake." Jonah stuttered. "I didn't think so." I spat, dropping him. "I take it you're not going?" Ace asked. "I don't know. If I pop up, I do." I spat, still angry at the fact that Jonah had the balls to say something like that in front of not only me, but Grayson as well. "So, your usual?" Ace asked. "Yeah." I said.  Grayson was about to say something but we heard Ella's soft voice before he could. "Uh, you're on my car." She said, causing us all to look at her bruised face that was surrounded by her hair as she looked down at her black shoes. "Why aren't you in class, Ella?" Grayson asked. "I uh, I finished my work early, so I could leave." Ella said. "Class just started like fifteen minutes ago." Ace said. "I'm a nerd. I live to finish my work early." She said softly, glancing up at Ace then back to her shoes. "Of course you do." Jonah snickered. I flicked the butt of my cigarette as Ella was now looking at the cigarette that was between my lips.  "Nearly forgot." I chuckled. She looked at me through her eyelashes. "Ells, some of the team is coming over for the night. Are you okay with that?" Grayson asked Ella. "Do they have to?" Ella sighed. "You'll be fine, Ella. We'll be downstairs and in the backyard for the most of the time." Grayson said. She sighed and walked in between me and Ace, going to her car. "I'll be in my room anyways." Ella said. She opened her door and slung her bag to the passenger seat. "Can you see? You know to drive?" Ace asked. "Yeah. My eyes aren't swollen shut." She said, starting her engine.  "You'll make it home okay then?" I asked, causing looks to be shot at me from Grayson and Jonah. "I should." She shrugged, closing her door with the window rolled down. "Text me when you're home." Grayson said. "I will." Ella replied. I walked away and headed to my bike.  "Should he expect you or not!?" Jonah yelled after me. "Who knows!" I replied back.  When I got home, Lily's car was in front of the house and she was sitting on my porch. I parked in the driveway and hopped off the bike as Lily began to walk towards me. "So you broke up with her, what else." She instantly asked.  "What?"  We went up the steps and I unlocked the door, letting her go in first. Well not really, she walked in first, nearly shoving me aside. "That's not enough, Blake. You need to do more." Lily said, her black hair moving all over. "There's nothing more than I can do, Lily. I don't hit females, you know that."  "Yeah but I do. Just give me the word." "What word. Hailee and I aren't together, there's nothing stopping you from hitting her or doing whatever you want to her."  She stopped and looked at me with wide eyes. "Really? Since when?" "Since lunch. I don't care what happens to Hailee." "So you're telling me that I have to wait until Monday just to beat her ass when I could've did it today?"  "Uh yeah." "Damn it, Blake!" "What" I said, chuckling. "You are so..-ugh!" She tried to find a word to use but couldn't so she went with ugh instead. I went to the kitchen, hearing her Air Jordan's following behind me. "So what're you doing for the rest of the day." She asked. "Why?" I asked, grabbing a soda and leaning on the counter. "There's a party, I was told to invite you." "By who."  "Alex." "Oh nah. I'm good." "Why? It's not like you have a life." She said, crossing her arms. "Shut up. Grayson is having some sort of football gathering s**t with some of team at his house." "His house. Oh now I know why you're going." She said, a smirk on her face. "Who said I was going?" "The fact that Ella lives there, I think that says it."  "Shut up. You talk to much." The door opened and Ace walked in, Tiara behind him. Lily sighed. "When are you going to do better, Ace." Lily asked him. "Shut up Lily." Ace replied, side hugging Lily and ignoring the glares that Tiara was sending. "Grayson told me to let you know that it's right after school. So everyone should be there before six." Ace said to me. "Alright."
