I'm in the middle of a pack meeting with neighboring alphas discussing the recent attacks we’ve been getting from several creatures when I get a mind link from Jansen. 'Alpha sir I need your help! Jessalina just shifted and her wolf freaked out and ran! I don’t think she knows how to control her wolf!'
I let out a sigh. 'Jansen don't follow her or let any of the students follow. We were not aware she could shift so it must be her first time. It might startle her if you approach. Which direction did she head?’
'South from the training field.'
I cut off my mind link with Jansen and stood up. “I do apologize, gentlemen but I have a member who just shifted for the first time and does not appear to be in control. I need to handle this situation." I run my hand through my blond hair and attempt to smile.
Alpha Greg stands up. He stands at 6'3" with a bulky build. His eyes are a chestnut brown and hair jet black. He is one of the stronger alphas within our neighboring borders. Very logical and isn't controlled by his emotions which is impressive for a 17 year old. He recently took over the red fang pack when his father, Camron became too ill to continue to perform his alpha duties.
”I will assist you. New shifters not in control of their wolf can be a handful. Not to mention dangerous" A smirk dancing on his face. Obviously prepared for a challenge and over being in a meeting.
I nod my head to Alpha Greg in thanks. He isn't wrong, it can be a bloodbath if her wolf is in full control. About twenty years ago there was a kid who was a werewolf but didn’t know it because he was adopted by a human family. When he shifted he didn't understand what was happening he slaughtered not just his family but his whole village. By the time we got there we couldn’t save him or get him to transform back to his human form. His wolf had already taken full control and was absolutely insane so we had to kill him. He put up one hell of a fight and took out two of my men, he would've been one hell of a warrior had he been able to regain control.
Alpha Greg and I raced down the stairs of the pack house and I shifted as soon as I got outside. Not a single care came to my mind when my clothes were torn to smithereens. I know turning and running so fast I was going to lose Alpha Greg. This was one of my pack members out there so I couldn’t waste time. I am the leader of my pack. I should have known that something was off. We typically can tell when someone has a wolf but not until after their first shift.
Be safe Jessalina I know this must be terrifying and confusing for you. Is the only thought that keeps crossing my mind.
I let Xander take over and he ran as fast as our legs could carry us following Jessalina’s scent into the forest. She always smelled of cherry blossoms. It's such a subtle scent but fits her so well. As her scent grew stronger Xander knew he was near so he slowed my pace and approached with caution.
‘I don't want to frighten her and cause a battle. Please be careful’ I tell him. Xander huffs back meaning he understood. My wolf wasn’t one to use many words but it always worked in our favor. He would only speak out if he didn't agree or if he sensed danger. He truly was a great wolf and I couldn’t be happier to have him. I thank the moon Goddess for this blessing and every blessing she has given me.
Sneaking through the trees and brush I could see this huge black wolf standing in the clearing. If I hadn’t known any better I could have sworn there was smoke or maybe shadows coming from her? That had to be my imagination. I had pushed myself hard. I must have been over exerting myself. I then see the wolves’ carcasses surrounding her. Sniffing the air it was easy to tell they were rogues but Jesus jess that's five of them dead.
I slowly step out into the clearing on full guard ready to attack at any minute. Xander is still in charge of our body however I am able to start to assess the situation from our mind. The smell of the metallic blood was starting to become overwhelming. That's when I noticed these wolves had literally been pulled apart limb by limb. The inner linings of their stomachs are thrown about the land and some intestines even hung from the trees above. The blood was everywhere. It covered everything! It was as if she had others help with making each of these scoundrels suffer. Then I see a single wolf, the smallest one, only had the head torn cleanly off. In one swift movement it would appear. Did she pity that wolf because of the size or was it something else? I cannot help but admire her job at ensuring they would not get back up to fight. This was one hell of a brutal scene. It was honestly worse than any battle I have seen.
I made eye contact with the wolf laying down at my feet. It’s really not your typical wolf, she's gigantic for a female werewolf and what's going on with her fur? Was she malnourished? Typically wolves have smooth slick coats but hers looks like a wire brush. Red eyes with sprinkles of black greet me. How the hell did a wolf without any training cause this much harm? There wasn’t even a scratch on her, even an experienced fighter would have had a battle wound. A chill runs up my spin. I can tell her wolf is not normal and I am going to have to do some serious research. Whoever this wolf was, it is blocking out Jessalina but I need more information. I am just not sure how to get it with her wolf being in charge and if her wolf is in charge does Jessalina even know the damage that was done here today?
