ALPHA GREG'S POV

1026 Words
Damn it Alpha Sam you couldn’t wait two seconds? You ran as if your life depended on it as soon as we strolled out of the pack house. Literally ripping your clothing to pieces! I shake my head looking at the ground seeing the shredded cloths flutter down. I jog over to the forest entrance, strip myself of my clothes so as to not ruin them as a sane person would, and transform into my werewolf form at rapid speed. My fur is a beautiful jet black like my natural hair color and I was impressive for my size but still about an inch smaller than Alpha Sam. Lycians are supposed to be bigger than the normal werewolf however, I transformed at a very young age causing my wolf to be oversized if you will. I stretched out my body, raising my head high and took a weft of the air that surrounded me. Uhg Alpha Sam you even managed to cover your scent so I can’t follow you through the forest. I am aware that he doesn't mean to but he has Lycian blood in him. He typically does it at times of desperation, I don't even think he is aware when he does it half the time. It’s said in the old journals I have read at my pack's library that only hellhounds could find the scent of a Lycian due to their heightened abilities, but that’s just a legend. In fact there are several interesting stories about them. I am sure not all are true but they did use to walk this earth with the rest of us a long time ago. Hellhounds were hunted down one by one and killed by the Angels. Angels disgusted with their very existence made it a point to murder them all. There has always been a battle between good and evil. With hellhounds being given special instructions by the devil himself it is not surprising angles decided to get involved and stop their gruesome acts. Demons of course would step into this battle as hellhounds in a sense were their partners in crime. It was rare for a hellhound to be far away from a demon. This war is what brought all creatures' existences to the light of the humans. Angles needed more warriors as did the demons, causing all to choose a side. It split homes apart, truly showing there is good and evil in every single person. Each person chooses a side that fits their beliefs. Was it right to make the hellhounds take their last breath and create a war when there were other monsters out there just as horrid if not worse? If these stories are true then it just shows that to this day we have learned nothing. We all suffer from several wars occurring at once. It feels as though we will fight amongst each other until the end of times or until there is only one species standing. I shudder at the very thought of the world ending due to differences in beliefs. I pace the Forest floors hoping to pick up something, a sound or hell, even a scent that’s out of the ordinary that might lead me in the correct direction would be great. This isn't my pack. I don't know what I'm looking for. I am a very logical man, normally not one to show much emotion but this is quite aggravating for me. As I begin to give up I let Kal, my wolf take over. His senses are more in tune with the world around us. Our wolves’ are literally intertwined with nature, their animalistic instincts are extremely helpful in scenarios like this one. That's when I smell it, it smells like a fresh death. The metallic could be clearly made out within the air. This must mean one hell of a gory death just occurred. A growl erupted through my throat. These f*****g rogues have been coming into our territories lately and causing havoc. They’ve been going together making these insufficient, stupid, nameless “packs”. I brace myself, hurling my body full speed through the forest. There is obviously trouble afoot and I need to get to them as fast as possible. He could be in need of help. Lost in my thoughts of worry I almost crash head first into Alpha Sam. At least I found him even if I'm irritated over the circumstance. That’s when I see her. This female wolf lay on the ground with body parts surrounding her and blood on every centimeter of the area. It by all means was not a pretty sight. It made my stomach turn even though I have been in battles of life and death. I examine Alpha Sam who does not have a drop of blood on him and notice this perplexed look on his face. I look back to looking at the wolf that laid submissively on the ground. Upon making eye contact her eyes narrowed at mine. Her eyes behold a horrific kind of beauty, black with red specks. That’s when it clicks this isn’t just any plain ol’ werewolf, this is a f*****g hellhound laying there. My first instinct is to want to attack but I don’t. I wait and look at Alpha Sam. He’s not budging… does that mean this hellhound is actually the girl we were originally looking for? How is it even physically possible? They are supposed to be extinct yet, right in front of me lies one in the flesh. She must either be very important to some demon or really f****d up in her past life to have a human interlaced within a hellhound’s soul. This just means I am going to have to do more research when I return to my pack, or maybe I don’t have to return and I can just scope out what the hell is actually going on here. However, if they have a hellhound on their side is it a good idea to keep our alliance going or is it better to back out before others discover and come to take care of this little predicament.
