"Gather around the dining halls, we will be having a large feast! Congratulations to everybody who passed! And those who couldn't, well, you can always improve yourself and come back after 6 months. Just know that you all are amazing in your own way, you just need to find that way and work harder. Happy graduation!" A lot of my students, young royal witches and wizards came to pay respect to me, some wanting my acknowledgement of how they did in the finals of dark magic and morphing spells. And some came to get tips on how they can pass in the next exams.
My position in the castle, in the establishment and in the coven is still a mystery to everybody. I'm everywhere. Involved in every department that concerns magic and the ones who hold it. Thus, I was a supervisor for all the royal children's exams today. They have finally graduated and can have a wand of their own. Most wizards get their wands at an early age of 13, but we only allow custom-made wands when they graduate. A rule that I put forward around a century ago.
I quickly made my way towards the grand hall too, so I could eat a lot. I was extremely hungry and tired after today. The chest always takes away my energy. Right before I could enter the hall, I bumped into a colleague of mine, Edward Gostov Reine. A fine wizard and a companion of centuries. We had a past, a present, but unfortunately, not a future. The thought upsets him more than me though.
"Lovely seeing you here Aurora, you look magnificent" At this compliment, I looked down on myself and the only thing I could see was the long black cloak made of velvet covering me. We do have modern clothing, we keep up with the trends of the outside world, but this was formal wear here. Something you wear when you have to highlight your position as a witch or as a wizard. Edward, on the other hand, was clad in a simple white tee shirt and jeans. He looked young. Seeing him after so many years was a shock but I tried my best to hide it.
I made a quick motion with my hand and a mirror made of water appeared in front of me, suspended in the air by my magic. Edward laughed at my tricks and I frowned when I saw how I looked. It was a mess. My hair, my makeup and the frown on my face, everything looked ugly. Oil glistened on my skin while my hair stood out in odd directions. I dismissed the magic and the water returned to where it came from. Probably from someone's glass, poor person's water just decided to stand up and come here. The thought made me laugh.
"Well, I didn't know we were being sarcastic here, Edward. I swear, the intensity by which you complemented me, I thought I looked nothing less than a goddess. But what do I see in the mirror? An Oglo look alike!" I exclaimed in exasperation, making a joke about how I looked and dragging his mother Oglo in it too. That bitchy witch. Edward too laughed. I also have a history with his mother, but not a good one. And Edward shared my opinions with her too. Unlucky for us, she was a powerhouse of brute strength, something you don't see in covens. I covered my messy hair and part of my face with the hood of my cloak.
"Well, my dear Aurora, for the record, I wasn't being sarcastic. And please "your mama" jokes don't suit you. Give me something original" He laughed heartily as we entered the dining hall together, only to be met by someone I had not seen in 12 years. Oglo.
Speak of the devil and it shall appear.
