Chapter 6

1104 Words
I was officially done for the day. With the exams, meeting Edward after so long, convincing everybody of my new leadership and having Oglo suck the life out of me, I was done for the day. That's why I was headed for bed even though it was barely 7 in the night. The sun had started to set now. After what Oglo said, I couldn't digest the food and thought about not eating dinner. I was on my way towards my new chambers. The portion of the castle that is reserved for the leader. I had maids move out Malvick's possession, whatever that was left in the room. Anyway, I also took possession of all the potions, magic books and magical ornaments that he had. There was nothing precious or rare about them, but I did find the burning pit globe. It is a one-way door to hell. Literally. It's very difficult to open the gate of hell, especially during fights. The spell needs a lot of concentration, but now with the globe in my hand, I can open the pit that has the power to directly send anybody down to hell. It will help a lot during nasty fights now. I could see myself getting more powerful, especially after what happened with Malvick, and now with these little but very useful cheat codes of spells, I feel myself being more confident than ever. I was walking down another hallway, marked as 16, we had markings on the hallways because the castle is magical. One moment, you are in hallway 16, and when you turn around, you will be at 42, on the top floor. It is one of the protective mechanisms we have installed as a part of diverting our enemies if they ever manage to enter our castle. We, the people of the castle, on the other hand, know how to bypass this enchantment. So instead of turning towards right, where hallway 17 should be, I turned towards the stairs that took me down, where the current one would be right now. The route changes every now and then, but the castle is a part of me. I know the way it moves. As I was moving down the stairs, I felt someone charging at me at full speed. I couldn't see them, it was just a blur, they were fast. But before anyone could touch me or even get remotely near, I opened the burning pit right in front of me. The small oddly shaped demon that was charging at me, fell right into hell. I laughed so hard. It was so much fun. I worked my way around the pit and slowly put my head in, to see the little red demon falling while screaming his ears out. Insteresting. Who would send them? I was itching to try and synchronise the power of the globe with mine and this was the perfect opportunity, otherwise I would just scare the demon off and t*****e him until he spilled every secret of his. Unfortunately, my desire to see the burning pit in action overcame my desire to t*****e somebody. Sad day indeed. I stepped back and quickly closed the pit. There was nothing I had to do to close it, just think and it would happen. The power of the globe that I had with me. I was curious though. These little demons are not from here, they are the peasants of the underworld, a kingdom far from here, ruled by creatures with large wings, red skin, snake eyes and scaly skin. Someone must have summoned this creature here. For what reason, I will have to find out. "What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be in the dining hall?" Edward appeared out of nowhere and questioned me. "Shouldn't I ask you the same thing?" He chuckled at my reply and rubbed the back of his neck shyly. I swooned over his features and the way he behaved. Unluckily for both of us, I will have to keep these thoughts to myself, or Oglo will appear out of nowhere to eat me and his brains out. But I guess Edward wasn't thinking about her at all as he slipped closer to me and hugged me tightly, pulling me up from the shining tiled floor. I was taken aback, to say the least. Being in his arms after so long, it felt foreign, yet the tingling sensations came back. It was as if we were transported back in time. I pulled out of my thoughts as I heard Edward take a deep breath and nuzzled himself more into my hair. "I missed you. I wanted to do this the second I laid my eyes on you today, I just didn't have the confidence to do so" He mumbled while still hugging me. I was speechless and then a vision came. An angry monster, so large and humongous right in front of me. Just a few steps away. I could see the fog his breath made, that's how close we were. His sharp canines were directed at me. All the fur on his body was up, to make himself look bigger than he already was. A big animal, standing on his two legs, growling at me, snarling at me. Him and me. We were the only ones in the cold cell he was trapped in. I shuddered in fear. I was scared of the monster in front of me. Because I knew by the way he was looking at me, if he hadn't been bound by whatever that was stopping him, I would have been shredded into pieces by now. I shrieked out of fear as the vision ended, quickly detaching myself away from Edward, who looked so hurt right now, but my fear won. Like it did before. This vision. It used to be a constant 12 years ago, but seeing the monster again, after so long, I was reminded why I even stepped back from Edward. He looked bigger, stronger, and more dangerous. The monster I mean. And saying that I wasn't scared of him will be a big fat lie. "What?!" Edward asked me, almost yelling at me angrily while I struggled to keep my breath even. At this point, I was clutching my heart to stop it from pushing out of my body. No matter how much the monster was scary, whatever I felt after these visions was scarier. I felt sad, lonely like I was not supposed to be here. And then the anger came. The anger to kill Edward. And this time, I was going to do that.
