The Rogue Land

Ira Before Ira could knock on the wooden door, Bella opened it and pulled Ira into her arms. Her eyes radiated with happiness as she chirped, “where did you vanish? Come on in, quick! I need to tell you something!” Ira stepped into Bella’s chambers and felt like she had travelled back in time. The room was just like Bella kept their room at the hostel. A mess of clothes strewn over all available surfaces and books lying around unattended. If you looked at the room, you might feel that this woman was super busy, but with experience, Ira knew Bella had a tough time keeping things back in their place. Ira shook her head and clucked her tongue. “Bels! What a f*cking mess!” Bella’s laughter rang out through the room, “oh darl! You haven’t changed! You and your obsession with tidiness!” She stuck out her tongue to tease Ira, even as Ira started gathering Bella’s stuff, folding the clothes neatly and placing them in her wardrobe. Bella pulled Ira towards the couch in her living area and settled her down. “Leave it, babes. I will ask one of the omegas to tidy it up, later. I have news. But first, tell me, did you do your magic on the boss?” Ira frowned. “What do you mean?” “Didn’t Liam walk with you here? He told me he would when you lost your way!” Bella rolled her eyes. “you and your sense of direction!” “Oh! That… “ Ira played with the hem of her dress as she thought of his lips against hers. The softness of his otherwise gruff demeanour was a heady combination. She wanted that peck to deepen. She wanted to hold the time still and devour his lips. Yet, she had done nothing as he had walked away after she reminded him of Monike. She sighed in sadness. “No magic there, Bels. He is a taken man. Tell me about your news.” Bella stared at her. She opened her mouth to say something but then closed it again like a fish in water. She got up and headed to the kitchenette, leaving Ira to relish her memory of the brush of Liam’s lips against hers. Within a couple of minutes, Bella was back with a piping hot tea in her hands. “Here darl. Have this. It will make you feel better.” She handed it over to Ira, who thanked her and began sipping the lavender tea. Bella continued. “I am sorry. It had to be this way with Liam.” Ira mumbled, “it’s okay. I don’t care. You tell me about you.” Bella let out a deep breath. “I don’t know if I should be excited or not. The silver moon is sending delegates tomorrow, and there could be an arms deal in the pipeline. My mate might be one of the delegates.” Ira could feel the excitement in Bella. The girl wasn’t very good at controlling her anxiety. As Bella fidgeted, Ira thought about Bella’s mate and hoped that it was someone who could cherish Bella. She deserved it. They talked about the next day. Bella wanted Ira to be around on the big day when she was going to meet her mate. Ira, in turn, wanted to be nowhere near Liam but Bels was more important than anyone, so she agreed reluctantly. As they stepped out of Bella’s chambers, Bella turned into her grey wolf. Wriggling her white ears, she stamped her white paws against the soft ground, asking Ira to climb on. They couldn’t have toured the place at Ira’s human speed. It was a long evening as they pranced through the rogue land. The rogue king had indeed built his kingdom. Ira could only guess the level of hard work that had built such an impressive infrastructure. There were very few man made buildings but Liam had used the land to his advantage. Every cave on his rocky terrain was inhabited and converted into structures used by his subjects. She could see how much the rogues worshipped him. Warriors patrolled constantly to avoid external attacks and internal in- fighting. The rogues were known to be wild, but the King had managed it beautifully. Her heart swelled with pride as she saw what Liam had done with his life. Like others, he could have gone savage, instead, he had not only built a life for himself but also for others who needed a pack. Their last stop was the dining hall where she met Liams Gammas as they were the only last ones left after the rest of the pack had eaten. She ended up having an entire steak for dinner as she chatted away with Ben & Brianna who were also waiting for them. Barring the brief incident of the evening where she had snooped in on Monike and Liam's conversation, she had a fantastic day. By the time Bella dropped Ira, it was late. Ira hadn’t seen Liam the whole evening. She disregarded the heavy feeling in her chest as she thought of the possibility of Liam spending time with a certain someone in her hand cuffs. Pushing the disgusting thought aside, she undressed, showered, got into her cozy satin undies and crawled into her bed, dead tired. Ira got up, startled. It was the middle of the night, and someone was banging against the door. She rolled her eyes at the incessant thumping. Is this going to be an everyday affair? Who the f*ck wakes up at 5 in the morning? She thought as she glanced at her clock and face palmed herself. Hopping out of bed, she pulled at her grey kimono robe from the side stand and put it on as she wobbled towards the door. “Coming!” she half shouted, as she stifled a yawn. She was going to kill the person who was at the door. She hated that her sexy dream was interrupted. It was one of ‘those’ dreams! The faceless stranger now had Liam’s face and his hot, muscular body. He was doing unspeakable things to her body when the stupid knocking on the door had started, denying her the much needed release. Her wet core had protested the need to wake up and attend to the stupid door. She couldn't enjoy Liam's companionship in reality, but it was super frustrating when she couldn't enjoy him in her dreams, either. “What?” she yelled as she yanked open the door to the man of her dreams and stumbled back. He strode in and kicked the door closed as if he owned the place! Walking past her, he turned around to face her. He does own this place! Ira rolled her eyes as she stared at his drool worthy body. He wasn’t wearing a shirt. Looked like he had been in a hurry. His ripped muscular body made her insides pool, as she tried not to stare at his dark brown n*pples. She wanted to snake herself around his tanned torso. Using every bit of her willpower she stood still, taking in his cut off clad look. His cut offs hung dangerously low on his Adonis belt. Sporting an enormous tent in the front, he prowled towards her and whispered in a gruff, unsteady voice, “what the f*ck was that?” She took a step back at the intensity in his brown eyes and stared at the purple flecks showing up in his irises. Her mouth ran dry and her heart thumped against her chest. She was sure he could hear her racing heart. Was he angry? She swallowed, trying to soothe her dry throat. “What?” Licking her dry lips, she questioned, totally confused at what she had done now. She had been sleeping in her g*ddamn bed before he rudely woke her up at this g*dforsaken hour. *****
