When we got back to the camp we didn't find any of our classmates . Just a few of the officials were around .
“ Congratulations you two finished first ” Suzie said .
“ Hey you guys ” . Joe jumped on me . “ You look terrible Jess ” .
“ I know Joe , I know ” .
There was some awkward vibe between James and I , and I could only hope Joe wouldn't notice .
He said he loved me and I didn't say it back .
That was what rang in my head , nonstop .
I went to have my bath . I assume that's what James went to do too .
Honestly , I didn't say anything to him once we got back . There was so much I wanted to say , yet so little ( nothing in fact ) came out .
