About a week later Sky, Maya and I are walking through a baby store, looking at furniture for the nursery and clothes for the baby.
Sky picks up a tiny onesie, holding it out towards me and Maya.
“This is so adorable. You are definitely getting this.”
She says, putting it into the basket. Maya smirks, shaking her head.
“She is not even showing yet, Sky, and you are already shopping like a crazy aunt.”
She teases and I laugh softly.
“You both are. But it helps. It keeps me distracted.”
Sky glances at me, her smile fading.

I sigh, brushing my fingers softly over a crib rail.
“From thinking about the bond, and the options to fix it that Elijah gave us.”
