The
next day, I have only one session of the conference to attend in the morning
before I head back to my office in Springville. I don’t have time to see Logan
before leaving Middleton, but he sends me a message arranging to meet in
Springville.
Back
in the office, I immerse myself in work, but Lexi interrupts me an hour later.
She inquires about what happened with Logan and insists on knowing all the
details. When I finish my story, she says with a smile, “It’s perfect. You need
an adventure. You have done nothing interesting since you moved here. You haven’t
even dated, and it’s not for lack of candidates.”
“Yes,
except that I’m beginning to doubt that letting Logan back into my life was a
