Chapter Twenty-One Monday, October 26, 2015 I’m not sure why the lava lamp is on. It’s been on and off since I replaced the bulb but I’ve left it on for three weeks now. When I come home for a walk at night I see a dim light in my window. I think now it’s just a healthy spirit of light that greets me when I come home. I know now that as the days have grown shorter, the peak of heat has dwindled to only a few hours in the afternoons, my keenness to be outside is leaving me, and my bonsai tree is a bit of nature that I’ve stolen to accompany my spirit as it is forced to take shelter this time.
