~* Ramil's POV *~
What have I signed up for? I'd agreed to teach an Alpha werewolf to fight with 2 short swords?
This was going to end up dangerous for me. Maybe in more ways than one.
For the first time ever, I'd felt something stir inside. From the moment I'd first laid eyes on her. It wasn't just attraction. Yes, I thought she was alluring. I appreciated her lovely form. But it was more than that. She had respectfully bowed to me.
I knew, from that one gesture, she wasn't arrogant like most of the other werewolves I'd met. Some, even after learning their customs and manners, still refused to bow politely to Fairies! It was just as common as handshakes amongst the humans in greeting one another!
How could I train her? Be so close to her? Smell her enticing scent and not fall head over heels for her?
If I was being honest with myself, I would acknowledge I'd already started to.
She was beautiful. Funny. Kind. Smart.
I'd silently laughed at the party when she was dancing with the little ones in the back grassy area after the ceremony. She didn't care about making fun of herself to get them to laugh and have fun.
Then when I'd seen her dancing very suggestively in the kitchen with her friends, I could hardly believe my eyes! Luckily I was 186 and not a young immature fairy any more or I would have found the nearest bathroom to relieve myself from the tightness in my pants!
At least she was no longer mated.
I may have a chance with her ...
She was a grieving widow!
I wanted to slap myself for even thinking about courting her.
Plus she was carrying!
Just imagining her swollen with child was heating up my blood.
It was wrong to think of her like that.
So very wrong.
But it's all my brain wanted to think about...
I was driving, headed back to the New Moon pack. Elderon and Fanvier were in the car too. Both of them had said they'd felt the lingering unease of the spirits they had consumed the night before. It was harder for our kind to be affected by normal liquor, and the effects didn't last long. The type they had consumed yesterday after the ceremony however, was brewed especially for supernaturals with a much higher percentage of alcohol.
It was probably a good time to let loose since Elderon would become a parent soon and he wouldn't be drinking around his new sprite.
Fairies as a general rule didn't drink to get intoxicated. It was more of a special occasion to toast with or during times of high stress. A few to loosen up usually. I thought back to when I had last been intoxicated and shuddered. It was not a good occasion. Even though both Lissalla and I had agreed not to go through with the intended ceremony, it was still hard to do it so publicly. If we had done it in private both our parents would have tried to strong-arm us into keeping the contract intact, and simply rescheduling for a later date. Even though we had rescheduled it multiple times already at that point.
It didn't mean the repercussions were not severe. It wasn't as if she was my fated intended. Just someone who my parents had chosen for me. 'A good match' my mother had said. I'd hate to think what they would say if they knew I was contemplating being romantically attached to a werewolf.
Adiera.
Alpha Adiera.
We pulled up at the gates and were stopped by some large well built scary looking gentlemen. Pack warriors no doubt.
"Names?"
"Ramil, Elderon and Fanvier. Alpha Adiera is expecting us for weapons training."
I watched his eyes go pearly white signalling he was mind linking someone.
"Alpha Adiera welcomes you to New Moon. She's waiting for you at the pack house."
We drove on through the trees to the first large building.
"Cake time!" said Elderon who had perked up considerably. "Fanvier? Will you come in for cake or did you want to start setting up?"
Fanvier groaned slightly. "I think I need an extra cup of coffee, so I might come in too."
"Ramil?"
"Lead the way Elderon."
There was no way I was passing up spending more time with our lovely host.
Adiera bowed to us on entry then hugged Elderon. She's a hugger.
She'd hugged me goodbye last night and it made me feel apprehensive.
One one hand, I am worried about being that close.
The other? I liked the feel of her against me and wanted to be close to her.
It felt like she could be the one I've been waiting for. Someone who loves me. All of me. The good with the bad.
.
.
.
What if I took the chance and later found my fated intended?
.
... What to do?
.
I choose now.
I'll live in the now and see where it leads me.

~* Adiera's POV *~
.
I got up and got dressed. Ohmygosh! Fighting today! I did my butt wiggling happy dance. I need music! I grabbed my phone.
Stella's not waiting where she normally is, so I used my bestie spare key to open her door.
I grabbed a water bottle from her fridge. Got some paracetamol tablets from her medicine cupboard and went into her bedroom. She was buck.ass.naked! Hahaha!
My girl was smashed good! I wonder if she got smashed good?
Wink wink nudge nudge.
I grabbed a sheet and covered her up.
Then started stroking her face. Poor darling. She started stirring.
"Girl! What time did you get to bed?"
I said it via mind link to it wasn't out loud.
"Uh? I don't know? ... Steff said stupid o'clock." Steff was Stella's wolf.
I tried to laugh quietly which made me wheeze laugh. My laugh made Stella laugh then groan. I handed her the tablets in a shot glass and the bottle of water.
"Not a shot." I pointed to the glass and smiled.
She groaned at me "Thanks Mum." She said sarcastically then sat up, took the tablets and a long drink.
"So ready to be a Mum with those lame as jokes." Stella laughed. I laughed too.
She drank more water then got up.
"I'm naked!" Stella looked a bit shocked.
I snorted. "Maybe a shower?"
Stella nodded looking puzzled.
"Stel? Did you do shots?"
"Uh? Maybe? I don't remember... Oh, Steff said I did do shots." She looked a bit guilty.
"Did you get lucky?"
Stella's ears turned red. Oh, this is interesting. Then her face also turned red.
"Steff said yes." She groaned and threw herself down on the bed next to me.
"You lucky b*tch!"
"I know right? I just wish I could recall some of the important details, like who!"
"Go shower. It's jogging time! You're making me late!" I sl*pped her butt.
She pretended to be offended. Pfft. Whatevs. I knew she liked it.
She raced to get her stuff sorted and then showered.
I ate a protein bar, Stella didn't feel up for eating anything yet. We headed out to do our warm up jog, yoga, then helped clean up from last night. Haha. It looks like everybody had fun.
I could smell bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, mushrooms and muffins. Ohmygosh! Best food ever after drinking. Or for anyone who loved a good cooked breakfast - like me! My stomach rumbled so loud I laughed. I told Stella to head on in and I just had to do something real quick. My lower tummy didn't feel happy.
I ran quick over to the edge of the house to let out a huge fart. It was so loud!
Goodness me! It stunk really bad too!
"Alpha Adiera!"
It was my turn to flush red.
"Sorry about that Dean." I apologised to the warrior.
"That was impressive! That definitely deserves a hi 5" He put his hand up for me to smack.
I did so with a big grin.
"Pregnancy farts are the worst." He said, shook his head, smiled and walked away at a distance.
He'd probably know. He's got 3 kids and another on the way!
Oh. It has began. I've got a guard now it seems.
I wonder if it's going to be 24/7?
My crew are worried about me.
I wonder if something has happened or if they are just going by instincts?
"We're going to have to run for the last time soon." Aspen reminded me.
We headed in for breakfast.
I loaded up my plate and sat down.
Everyone looked a bit wrung out this morning.
"How long did you all stay up last night?"
Ben mumbled something uninterpretable.
"So, I've got a guard now? Did something happen?"
"Just a precaution." Ben mumbled.
"Are you going to be okay doing the office work today?"
He grumbled some more with a fine thrown in there somewhere. MeiLee giggled. Only a mate could find their grumpy other half adorable!
Verona had her sunnies on her face. Mike was eating ravenously. They were probably hitting the road soon.
"Have a safe trip you guys. See you when you get back."
They both nodded with their mouths full.
I finished breakfast, dumped my plate and got a mind link that Elderon, Fanvier and Ramil were at the gates!
I asked for a big pot of fresh coffee to be made for us.
Margo had made a lovely vanilla frosted cake and I asked for 4 slices. I felt like a piece to have with my coffee as I hadn't had my favourite brew yet this morning.
Is there anything better than coffee and cake? Yum!
We set it up at the table as they walked in. I bowed to them, then gave Elderon a hug. Him and Fanvier looked as though they had pulled up fine! I didn't think they would considering the problems we had walking them to their car last night!
I met Ramil's eye.
"Did these guys give you any trouble last night?"
"Nothing that I couldn't handle." He still maintained his serious expression but his eyes seemed to twinkle in amusement.
"Would you all like coffee and some cake? Margo made my favourite vanilla cake. I'm sorry it's not a sickly sweet one today Elderon."
"Its fine my dear. I'm sure I'll enjoy it. I've never met a cake I didn't like."
We all sat down together. Stella wondered over after she had finished her breakfast.
"You're not having cake Fanvier?"
"No thank you Adiera. Coffee will do for me."
I handed the piece to Stella and she smiled in thanks and helped herself to another cup of coffee.
Ramil sliced some cake off with his fork and put it delicately in his mouth. His eyes lit up.
"Good?"
He met my eyes and nodded. He sipped his black unsweetened coffee.
"Not overly sweet which is nice. I'm enjoying the texture. Not at all dry like some vanilla cakes, yet more dense than a sponge cake."
"It's made with oil instead of butter."
"It's lovely and moist." Stella added smirking.
"You like it moist." I commented in mind link smirking back at her.
"I'm so excited for weapons training today!" I was practically bouncing on my seat.
"Don't expect to get any hits on Ramil." Fanvier smirked at me.
My eyebrows raised. "Really?"
I looked at Ramil who was glaring at Fanvier. I'm guessing he was trying to tell him to shut his mouth but Fanvier wasn't paying him any attention.
"You don't get to be..."
Ramil hissed! His eyes seemed to flash purple for a moment!
Fanvier's eyes widened and he stopped talking immediately.
Wow. Something Ramil didn't want to share. Which of course only piked my interest.
Fanvier got up and cleared his throat.
"I'm going to prepare the grounds and the practice weapons. I'll meet you down there. Thank you for the coffee Alpha Adiera." He took off quickly.
After he'd left I turned to Ramil eyeing him up.
"Let's make a wager! If I get a hit on you I want a boon!"
Ramil frowned. "Like a reward?"
"Yes. Obviously you're good if Fanvier doesn't think I'll be able to touch you, so if I'm able to, I want something from you."
Ramil deepened his frown.
"What would you request of me?"
"I want to know what all that was about." I pointed to him and where Fanvier made his exit.
Ramil narrowed his eyes at me and pursed his lips thinking.
"Deal. In fact, I'll make it open for the both of you. If either you or Stella get a hit on me, I'll tell you what all that was about."
"Awesome! Let's get started!"
We thanked Margo for the cake and headed out.
"Weapons training at the lower training grounds. All warriors please stay clear of the area for your own safety." I sent out a pack wide mind link.
I headed down further than the others were training, with Stella and Ramil in tow.
"Short swords should be an extension of your hands. So, attack me with your fists. If you can."
Stella was a beta. I was an Alpha. I'm sure one of us could get a hit on this fairy....
Famous last words!
I don't know how long we'd been at it? Probably over an hour. With both Stella and I using our full speed and strength against this man, he had blocked every single one of our attacks!
He didn't even look like he'd broken a sweat!
I called a time out and went and grabbed my water bottle to have a drink.
Stella mind linked me. "He's so damn fast! I had no idea Fairies were so fast!"
"We're going to have to take a different approach."
I looked over at Ramil, who looked back over at us casually.
"What if we go low high?" I suggested.
"That could work. I'll go low."
I nodded back at her and put my water down.
Ramil looked at us amused.
"Again?"
We nodded then attacked with new vigor.
I kept up the attacks aiming for his shoulders and head while Stella attacked from a lower position. Then we switched suddenly.
It didn't make any difference.
Ramil looked like he was shooing off bugs with how little effort it seemed to him.
I heard it but didn't see it. A noticeable whoosh, and next thing I knew, Ramil grabbed at my clothes and pulled me down to the ground with him. He twisted, so he cushioned my fall with his arm and I landed on the ground on my side against him.
I was so close to him. His skin was cool on mine.
I was lost in his beautiful eyes.
"Are you alright?" He asked concerned and his mouth moving made my gaze drop to his lips. His bottom lip was slightly fuller than the top. His coke bottle lolly smell was more intense being this close to him, and it made my mouth water. I wonder what his lips would taste like?
I had to tear my gaze away, back up to his eyes. He asked me something. I should answer him and stop looking like a fish out of water.
"I'm alright." I said my voice sounded husky. He'd taken my breath away and I tried to remember how to breathe normally.
Fanvier ran up to us. "I'm so sorry Alpha Adiera! One of the juniors grabbed my bow and let an arrow loose before I had a chance to stop him! Is everyone alright?"
I found my voice.
"It's fine Fanvier. We're fine. No one was hurt."
Stella reached out and gave me a hand up. Ramil was back on his feet at the same time I was.
"Thank you Ramil."
"You're welcome Alpha Adiera."
Fanvier looked between us and smiled.
"Did you get a hit in?"
"Not one!" I said excited.
"Told you!" he said smugly.
"Come and I'll show you how well your pack members are doing with their weapons practice!"
I followed him back up to where the others were training, but if I was being honest with myself, I didn't want to. I wanted to spend some more time with the dark long haired fairy with the gorgeous midnight blue eyes ...
After I'd spent time catching up with where everyone was at with their training, I offered the warriors training with axes to purchase some for their own for personal use and practice. All of them seemed keen so I asked Elderon to put in the order.
"I'll follow it up with an email so you can invoice me."
"Excellent that way we have a copy too."
We helped clear everything away and all headed back up to the pack house.
"Thank you for training today. I'm assuming you're not staying for lunch?"
"Thank you but no." Elderon said smiling. I knew he'd want to get back for Elyssa.
"No worries. Safe travels. We'll see you next week."
Elderon and Fanvier went ahead to the car but Ramil stayed behind.
He leaned towards me.
"You didn't get a hit on me during our practice session. Does this mean I get a boon?" He asked quietly with an eyebrow raised.
"That wasn't part of the deal we made." I smiled sweetly up at him.
I thought for a moment tapping my finger on my chin.
"What would you request of me?" I asked parroting his response back at him when I had asked the same question of him earlier. I loved the way he spoke to me. It made my insides feel funny.
"I would like to take you out tomorrow."
I stopped breathing.
"You mean like a date?" I exhaled slowly to stop my heart from racing.
Ramil smiled.
Oh wow! It's the first time I've seen him truly smile.
He's even more beautiful when he smiled.
"Yes. I suppose I do mean like a date."
Oh my!
"What time would you like me to be ready?" My voice came out softer than I'd intended.
His smile got even broader.
"I'll pick you up at 5."
I nodded. "I'll see you tomorrow then, Ramil."
"Looking forward to it, Alpha Adiera."
He was still smiling as he got into the car.
I waved goodbye like I normally do.
I must have stood out there for 5 minutes just staring off into nothingness...
I've got myself a date!
