Wolf's POV
"Lillibeth." I called as I brought back another deer.
It's been a month since I've marked her. She's changed more than I could have thought. She doesn't wear that seductive red dress anymore. I'm conflicted about it. I couldn't bear having anyone see her in that red dress. Though I love the way it hugged her curves. She's dramatically cut down on her swearing because she thinks she's influenced me. Her attitude has somewhat changed, she's less sadistic towards me, well she's not trying to stab me anymore nor scare me. She doesn't wear the dagger holsters all day, either.
I went through the bush and couldn't see her. The fire started but she was nowhere to be seen. "Lillibeth!" I dropped the deer and headed towards the cave. She came out wearing a jersey that fell on one shoulder, giving me a full view of my mark. I looked down at her legs and they were bare, the jersey covering like a 3rd of her thigh.
I looked up at her face as she brushed her hair. It was so long, it passed her gorgeous ass. Even though we've been together for a month, she's always had her hair in a braided bun.
"What?" She grumbled out to me as she continued to brush her hair. "I was..." She rolled her eyes before I even had the chance to finish. "Again with this Damien?" She walked up to me and poked me with the brush. "If I were to leave, why would I have started a fire and let it burn the forest down?" She poked my chest with the brush on every word. Like Crystal, she rarely said anything wrong. "And if the hunters jumped me, don't you think that there would be signs of a struggle, with or without a few bodies about the place?" She took the brush off my chest and continued to brush her hair. I smiled down at her. "I guess I just don't want to lose another mate." She rolled her eyes before she turned around and walked back into the cave, shaking her ass with each step.
"I'll start once I've finished with my hair." She said as she walked back in. She took a few minutes and came out with her hair in that braided bun as always.
She took her knife in hand as she started. "This is the fifteenth deer this month, Damien." She continued to make quick work of the deer. "Sorry honey. You are the best cook I've ever met." She rolled her eyes. "How would you know if you only wanted deer?" I walked over and kissed her on the cheek. "We had those chickens last night." I said to her as she handed me the ribs to put on the fire. "I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't any deer left in this forest." I chuckled and she took off the hind leg.
Once she was done, she sat on the log next to me. A tree fell during the month and I pulled it there to have something to sit on. And to do some other things on it.
I pulled the leg up and started to devour it. "Hey," she said, sounding annoyed. "Let me have some." She leaned over my lap and took a bite. My eyes roamed over her body and I noticed her jersey was starting to lift, revealing her gorgeously round ass. I slapped it and watched as she jerked forward.
She turned her head and glared up at me. Swallowing the meat in her mouth, she climbed onto my lap and took another bite of the leg. What is she doing? I thought as she eyed me. She looked up into the sky before she took another bite. I looked up and saw the full moon.
"It's the night of the full moon? But you never had any nightmares." She smiled back at me before she took another bite. "And how are you feeling?" I said as I leaned down to take another bite. "Better than what I usually do this time of the month. I just feel a bit tired." She leaned back into me. "I'm sure you do." I kissed my mark. "So an early night?" I asked as she kissed me on my cheek. "Hopefully, unless Raphael has any other plans for tonight." She said with a chuckle. "Please don't tempt him." I said before kissing her cheek.
After we finished, I put the fire out and we made our way to the cave. We've used the deer skins to make a surface for her to sleep on. Luckily, it's large enough to have me in my wolf form as well. I shifted and leaned right up against her. It didn't take long for her to fall asleep. She wasn't joking. She's tired. I nestle down next to her and fall asleep.
'Dude wake up!' Raph shouted at me. I opened my eyes and looked down at Lillibeth. She's sleeping soundly. 'What is it?' I growled at him in annoyance. 'What did you wake me for, that wasn't our mate in distress?' I looked up at the cave's entrance before I heard something moving outside. 'Dude what the??? How did we manage to let someone this close?' I growled at Raph. I was up and already on my way out of the cave. 'Wait, it's...' before Raph could finish his sentence, I came face to face with a wolf that was my size, dark brown fur with some stray grey hairs.
'Father?!' I said through the mind link to him. 'Good evening, son.' He said as he shifted back into his human form. I followed the suite and walked with him to the ashes of the fire. "What has brought you here?" I asked.
I've been away from the pack for 2 years now. What could he need me for?
"Is that any way to speak to your father, Damien?" He crossed his arms and sat on the log. "Sorry, father. How have you been? How is mother?" I asked.
I missed them greatly, but not as much as I had missed Crystal.
"Your mother is fine, she misses you, Damien. And so do I. The whole pack does." He said to me. "They need their Alpha Damien, with or without their Luna." He said as he put his hand on my arm. "It's time to come home, son."
I looked up at him before I looked back at the cave. "Damien, you need to be a strong alpha, I know you are." I smiled down at the floor before I stood up. "Father, follow me, please." I said as I walked towards the cave's entrance. My father did as I asked.
I stepped aside and allowed him to see Red. 'Father, this is my new mate.' I said to him via the mind-link. 'New mate?' He turned to me as he raised his brow. 'The Moon Goddess has blessed me with another mate, father.' I smiled at him as we made our way back to the log.
"So does that mean that you will come back?" He asked me. "Honestly father, I didn't think about it. I will have to speak to Lillibeth about it." He nodded his head. "Is that your mate's name?" I smiled widely as I nodded my head. He chuckled while he shook his head. "You're lucky Damien. Not just anybody gets a second chance, mate." I smiled at him as I looked down at the firepit. "I know, father."
"You should taste the way she cooks deer.". I said as I licked my lips. "Well, it looks like I'll get my chance." He said as he looked over my shoulder. I turned to see Red coming out of the cave, rubbing her eyes, yawning, and almost tripping over her own feet. She walked up to us. "Good...." She trailed off as she looked up at the sky. "Morning...?" It sounded like a question more than a greeting. "Lillibeth, this is my father." I said as she walked up to me. Her hand glided over my forehead before she pushed me off the log. "I'm Lillibeth. It's very nice to meet you." She said as she sat down next to him. My father just laughed. "My name is Xander Blackheart and the pleasure is all mine," he said, eyeing my mark on her shoulder the entire time.
"What was that for?" I asked as I sat down next to her. She turned her head and gave me a quick glare before she turned back to my father. "I wish I could say that he speaks of you often, but the only thing he does often brings back deer." She said sarcastically. Again my father laughed at my expense. "Well, he did comment on your cooking skills." My father chuckled.
Dad eyed me to ask her. "Lillibeth." I said and touched her arm. "My father has come here to ask me to go back to the pack." She crossed her arms and turned to me. "And all this time I thought you were a lone wolf." I looked at my father for help, he just shook his head. "I'm the alpha of the Sapphire Jade pack." She raised her brow before she looked at my father. She looked like she wanted to say something. She looked back at me. "So...?" She leaned her head forward. "I said I need to ask you first." She pulled back in confusion.
Her eyes fluttered open when she realized I was not going to force her to do something she wasn't prepared to do, nor was I going to leave her. She put her hand on my cheek. "Wherever you choose to go, I will follow." She smiled sweetly at me. I smiled down at her before I turned to my father. "Well, father. You can tell everyone that they can stop being lazy." I chuckled before I looked down at Lillibeth. "Because their Alpha is coming back."
My father stood up and smiled down at us. "You're mother will be so pleased. When can we expect you home?" He said as he walked to the other side of the fire. "It'll take a few days to come home. Let's say three to be safe." I said as I stood up and hugged him. "Very well then. I'll be seeing you again in three days." He said before he shifted and ran back into the forest.
I looked back at Lillibeth as she yawned. "For one full moon, Damien? Can't we just have one peaceful full moon?" She said before she started the fire. "I'm sorry. But I have to ask. What woke you?" I asked before walking up to help her. "You weren't there when I turned, is what woke me." I couldn't help but chuckle. "Sorry." I kissed her cheek. "Should I go get the knife?" I asked as I eyed the deer. She reached under the jersey. "No." She said as she took out the knife from behind her. "Lillibeth?" I leaned back and tried to see behind her. "Well, you disappeared. You didn't think I was going to walk into f**k knows what without them?" She looked back at me as I chuckled before I took the leg and ribs to the fire.
After breakfast, Lillibeth got everything cleaned up and packed away, not like there was much to pack away. She always kept things neatly packed for emergency cases. "Damien!" She shouted out from the cave. I turned my head and watched the entrance, hoping she would come out and speak to me instead. "Damien Blackheart! Get off your lazy ass, NOW!" She screamed at me. I jumped to my feet and ran in. "I was coming to you, I swear." I said as I walked up to her. She grabbed my ear and pulled me down to her level. "You've never spoken about your pack. So you're not going to let me look like a fool." She said before giving my ear another tug before releasing it.
"What do you want to know?" I asked as she picked up her things. "Firstly, why the hell is it called the Sapphire Jade Pack?" I picked up the heavy things and chuckled before looking down at her. "Lillibeth, I didn't get to name it. That's what the pack has always been called." I said as I looked around the cave for the last time.
Red was standing at the entrance. She had changed into some jeans and a shirt. She kept the holster under her shirt for any troubles we could encounter on the way.
I explained everything about the pack and the reason why I left the pack. Then, as we continued, I spoke about my family. My mother, father, the twins. She looked at me with a smile as I spoke about them. That was when it hit me. This overwhelming feeling. I looked down at Red as she focused on the path. She had this small smile on her face, but was she feeling overwhelmed? "Lillibeth? Is everything alright?" I leaned forward and looked at her. She looked at me and smiled, "That's a lot to take in. And no doubt that there will be a lot of people in your pack." She said sounding slightly unsure and worried. "Our pack." I corrected her. "If you're not feeling up to it, we can go back to the cave.". I said as I stopped in front of her.
"It's been a very, very long time since I've been around lots of people." She said and walked past me. "I'm not sure if I can hold back my temper for long and I'm sure that you won't appreciate me stabbing one of your pack members." I couldn't help but laugh. "Our pack. And if you do, it was their fault." I said as we stopped and made camp for the night. The rest of the night she wasn't in a talking mood. So I nestled up to her and reassured her that I believed in her.
When I woke up, I felt something leaning against me in the morning. I turned my head and saw Red resting against me. I smile at her. She's never used me as her pillow before. I moved slightly to adjust to having her lie properly, but as soon as I moved, her eyes shot open. She sat up as I shifted back. "Sorry." I said as I snaked my arms around her waist. "For?" She raised her brow as she took some cooked meat out of the pot in her bag. "Waking you up." I said before kissing her cheek. She handed me the meat. "We need to get going soon. So I would have needed to wake up anyway."
I looked down at the small amount of meat she was eating. "Are you going to be full from that?" I looked down at it. "Yes. Don't worry yourself." She said as she looked at me in the corner of her eyes before looking back at the fire pit. I nestled into her as I continued to eat. "As soon as we get to the packhouse, we are going to have a massive party with plenty of meat.". I said before shoving the last bit of meat in my mouth. "What do we need to party for?" She asked as she stood up and dusted herself off. "To celebrate our return." She rolled her eyes before she bent down to pick up her stuff.
I reached out and grabbed her perfectly round ass. She squeaked before she stood up and turned to me. Her face was pink as she glared down at me. I started laughing at her cute face. She clicked her tongue at me before she turned around and started walking. "You're starting the celebration too early." I walked up to her and picked her up, tossing her over my shoulder. I grab onto her ass again. She again squeaked. "Damien put me down!" She shouted at me. I grabbed her waist and thrust her off my shoulder. She glared at me the entire time. I thought she would have been scared by the sudden movement. She crossed her arms against her chest as I put her down. "I'm going to celebrate every day. I have you by my side." I bent down to her level.
She held my hands. I felt her fidget a bit before her hands left mine and something was left on both my arms. I looked down at her hands and saw her stuff. I looked back at her as she smiled at me with that sadistic smile of hers. "My punishment?" I asked her. She gave a slight nod before she turned around. She started walking, shaking her ass as much as she could. She turned and gave me a cheeky look before she smiled.
'Hmmm, let's celebrate now.' Raph said to me. 'I don't think she'll allow us.' I said back before I gave her a playful growl. She turned her head back to the path and started to shake her ass some more. I walked up behind her and smacked it. "Keep shaking that perfect ass and I'll start a celebration of our own.". I growled down at her with lust. She looked down before she smiled. I looked down and noticed that my d**k was starting to get hard. She giggled before she looked back at me. "I would stop thinking of 'celebrating'. Otherwise, we will be late." I looked at her and nodded my head. "But you have to stop teasing me with such a beautiful sight." She winked at me and allowed me to walk next to her.
Red's POV
For the rest of the day, I've been going through everything that he had told me yesterday. All the important info. And f**k, there are a lot of things to remember. I sighed and stared ahead of me. Going to a pack of wolves is something I tried to avoid. Any large gathering of anything is something I tried to avoid.
Fuck sakes! Why couldn't he have just been a lone wolf? I left family life a long time ago. I left that life behind way before I started killing. Now, look at me. I'm on my way back to that life.
What the hell am I getting myself into?
Nightfall had come and Damien had gone hunting. I was starting a small fire to cook whatever he might bring back. Honestly, I hope that he brings back rabbits... f**k, that would be nice. A well-cooked rabbit always brightens my mood.
I hear some twigs snap behind me. My first instinct is to look back. Assuming it was Damien with probably another deer.
"Hello, sister. Long time no see." I stared at his eyes. They glowed silver as he stood there with his dagger in hand. He is as tall as Damien, but he's definitely not as muscular. "What the f**k are you doing here?" I reached behind me and grabbed my dagger. My brother and I have never seen eye to eye in a long time. We are less than a day's journey to Damien's packing house and this motherfucker is nearby. "Red. Red. Red." He said, twirling his dagger in his hand. "f**k off, Blue." I snarled at him.
Little boy Blue. That is his nickname. He used to kill people and blow through a ram's horn. He loved killing more than I did. He killed without reason. He would even lead groups of men and women. Killing everyone, even children, and then claiming to be the only survivor.
"What would you be doing here?" He asked as he started to walk towards me. I took the other dagger out of the holster and threw it at him. Slightly a squeak so it would just pass by his head and dig into the tree. "f**k off, Blue. You know I don't like traveling companions." He stopped and looked back at the dagger. "Come now, baby sister." He said as he turned to me. "I just wanted to know how many men have you brought for me to kill?" He smiled widely. His eyes held no emotion. "Men? You think I'm stupid enough to keep a pack of hunters on my ass forever?" I glared at him. He holstered his dagger on his right hip. "Damn, I thought since they came looking for you that you would surely lead them to me." He smiled before shaking his head. I kept my dagger ready in my hand as he started backing off. "You are looking good, Red. Real good." He said before he turned and walked away.
Fuck me! Why the f**k is he here?! Does Damien and his pack know about him?
I walked up to the tree and pulled the dagger out of the tree. f*****g Blue! I slammed my fist at the tree. He always knows how to piss me off. I slammed my fist into the tree once more. Breaking the bark on the outside.
I turned back to the fire and took out a holster that went from my shoulder to my waist. Holding more than ten daggers. I place daggers in them before I put them on under my shirt. I will have to be prepared if Blue is round. f**k only knows what he'll do if he finds out Damien and I are mates. One thing is for sure. I'll end him if he even tries something.
I sat in front of the fire with my eyes closed. I heard something rustling in the bushes in front of the fire. Blue wouldn't have come back just to piss me off, would he? I pull the daggers from my back before standing up with both in my hands.
Damien came out of the bush with two rabbits. "Lillibeth, what's wrong?" He said as he walked up to me. "Nothing's wrong, Damien." I said before I holster my favourite dagger. I take the rabbits and skewer them. "Lillibeth, I've been feeling your anger and concern." He said as he came closer to me.
I stared down at the rabbits as I turned them and asked. "Have you heard of Little Boy Blue?" I asked under my breath. "No. Is this his fault?" Damien growled. "It's just something that popped into my head. It's nothing to worry about." Blue must have f*****g moved in when he wasn't here. I wonder if his parents know of him?
"Lillibeth," Damien said as he hugged me from behind. "I can feel your anger. Please tell me, what's wrong." I focused on turning the rabbits instead and ignored him. He held onto me and growled down in my ear. "Lillibeth!" He growled lowly. "Don't ignore me, when something has you this pissed off." I stopped turning the rabbit and pulled his hands off me before I took the rabbits off and put them in Damien's hands.
I made my way to the other side of the fire pit and started poking at the ashes with a stick. "Aren't you going to eat?" He asked as he reached down for the rabbits that were still piping hot. He pulled back as he burnt his fingers. At this moment I don't care. If Blue is here, I need to get Damien away from here as soon as possible. He'll need all his strength and I'm sure he's starving from the hunt. "No. I'm not hungry." I said, honestly I'm not lying. Seeing that f*****g bastard has made me lose my appetite, even for rabbit.
I guess he figured I wasn't going to eat and he knew I wasn't in the mood for fighting. Once he finished, he came to sit next to me. "Lillibeth.". He said as he reached for my hand. "You know you can tell me anything.". He touched my hand. His fingers rubbed my knuckles and the back of my hand. They stopped as he pulled my hand towards him. "What happened to your hand?" He asked, concern lacing his voice. I looked down at my hand and saw the dry blood and scabs on my knuckles. "I punched a tree." I said before pulling my hand back. "Why?" He leaned towards me. "Because I f*****g wanted to." I spat out back at him. He recoiled back. I haven't sworn without reason for a bit. It must have surprised him. "Lillibeth." He said before he picked me up and put me on his lap.
He rested his head on my shoulder. I feel him pull away from me as soon as his chest touches my back. No doubt he felt the extra daggers. He lifted my shirt and saw them. "Lillibeth. Who is Little Boy Blue?" He growled down at me. "He's a killer, like me." I said while staring at the fire. "Was your hand because of him?" He growled out and I almost knew Raphael was clawing his way to the surface. "No. I did punch a f*****g tree." I said as I pointed at the tree. "So why the need for extra protection?" He said as he tried to unhook them off me. I grabbed hold of his hand. "Don't." I glared back at him. He pulled his hand back. "This Little Boy Blue is that dangerous?" I couldn't answer him. I turned away before staring into the pit. "Lillibeth, I promise if he lays one finger on you he's as good as dead." he said as he kissed me.
Fucking Damien. Does he really think I'm scared of some third-rate serial killer like Blue? The only reason I let him live was that he's my brother, but I had to choose between the two. I wouldn't think twice about slashing Blue's throat with his own dagger.
Damien shifted back into his wolf and laid down next to me. I looked down at him. I lay back against his fur. Only allowing myself to get into a light sleep. I'm not taking any f*****g chances. Just now Blue has come back.
As soon as the first light of day hit, my eyes opened. I leaned forward and stared down at Damien as he slept. I took some extra meat out of the bag that I didn't let Damien know I had and cut a small piece of it. I eat it slowly before waving it in front of his nose. He sleepily moved his head with the meat before his eyes opened. He grabbed the meat out of my hand and started chewing it in his wolf form. I smiled down at him, he was eating while he slept. He's shown me there is happiness without killing. I can't have Blue f**k this up for me.
I hear him whine out as he eats, almost like he's trying to speak. I giggled and stroked his fur. "Damien, you're still in wolf form.". His eyes lifted like they were bricks before he yawned and reverted to his human form. "Okay, one more time.". I said to him. I couldn't help but chuckle. His eyes lit up as he leaned down towards me. "Someone is awake early." He said before kissing me. "And you seem like you're in a better mood." I snuggled up to him as he held me close. "I guess I am." I lean in towards him. "Let me guess. You dreamed of killing that blue boy?" He chuckled down at me. "Phht." I started laughing. "Something like that." I couldn't help but smile at him.
In such a short time, he has become my everything. I love sleeping next to him. I feel so safe next to him. I feel like I can let my guard down with him.
"Lillibeth?" He cooed in my ear. "This Little Boy Blue...." He said to me. "He was here yesterday, wasn't he?" I scuffed. I should have known he would have picked up on that prick's scent. "Yes," I said as I leaned on him. "Did he...?" I shook my head. "He never got near me." He kissed my neck. "So your hand?" I pointed to the tree. "Like I said last night." He looked up at the tree. "That poor tree. What did it do to you?" He said, sounding very concerned about the tree. I couldn't help but start laughing. "But honestly, I'm glad it was the tree and not me." He said. I leaned forward and held my stomach as I laughed. He's the only one who has ever been able to get me to laugh so hard it hurts. And I love him for it. He started laughing with me.
When I tried to compose myself, he came and kissed my cheek. "I love your smile and your laugh. I love seeing you happy." He whispered in my ear. "And I of you." I turned and said back to him. He leaned his head against mine and before I knew it, he kissed me passionately. I couldn't help but return his kiss. We broke away from one another. "Fuck..." He said out of breath. "That's my line..." I said while trying to catch my breath. He smiled down at me.
"Have you eaten my precious flower?" His what? "Who's your precious flower?" I raised one of my brows. "You are my precious Lilly." I rolled my eyes and pretended like it was lame, but I'm sure my cheeks are pink from how flattered I was by his comment. It made butterflies take flight in my stomach. He kissed my cheek, "Again my precious Lilly. Have you eaten?" He snuggled into my neck. "Yes, I have." I said down to his ear. "Good, then shall we go?" He raised his head and looked into my eyes.
