The night came as fast as the attack on the Claws pack did and since they were werewolves, navigating at night time was easy. Alan had Emilia secured on his back as he ran through the woods with his warriors and betas behind him. They ran all night not even stopping for a break, not with Emilia on the brink of death. The children rode in the car with their grandparents.
The journey from the claws pack hideout to the red moon’s pack took hours and when they got to the pack, it was dawn. The scouts were already out and the other warriors who stood guard were rounding up to train. Some mothers already had their pups out and other members of the pack, the teenagers were getting ready for school, until they saw their alpha rush in with his warriors and betas behind him. They didn't fail to notice the woman he had on his back and the car that came in after them but they were more curious by the sight of the children. Only a few of them could recognize Emilia and thus they wondered what happened.
It was surprising for some of the pack members of the Red Moon to see their Alpha care so much about someone the way he did, especially those who didn't know Emilia as much. Those who knew they had a history, particularly the older ones, whispered among themselves and tried to hide their young from the sight before them. Emilia was the adopted daughter of Steve, the former beta of the clan and a close friend of the Alpha’s father. The pack was in disarray, seeing the way she was rushed in all bloodied and with children, nonetheless.
“Get me the pack doctor, asap.” Alan barked orders at his beta immediately after he got into the pack grounds. His beta, Adam, was still in the middle of mind-linking the doctor when Alan rushed out of the pack house and headed straight for the packed clinic with Emilia in his arms.
“What is wrong with the Alpha?” one of the onlookers asked, “He doesn't seem to be thinking straight.” Adam, who was one of his betas and his closest friend had an idea of what was going on, he knew they were childhood friends but he also felt like something more was in play. ‘She couldn't be his second chance mate, could she?’ he thought to himself. In his hard thinking, he forgot he needed to run after his alpha, snapping out of his thoughts, he barged straight for the door and made a beeline for the packed clinic, Alan had already gotten there and was screaming orders at everyone. He needed to be calmed down so Emilia could be treated.
“Alan,” Adam began to say but thought again, “Alpha, please you need to allow the doctor to take a look at her or she will lose more blood than this.'' Alan almost growled at him for saying such but he knew he was right. He dropped Emilia on the bed and allowed the nurses and doctor to attend to her. He was following them with his eyes and making sure that they didn't hurt her the most. Emilia’s treatment was still going on and it seemed like it would take a while, so Alan decided to step out and breathe in relief but was met by a creeping thought, ‘Who owned those triplets?’. He noticed they looked like Emilia and they had his coloured hair and eyes but he didn't want to push further. He was still in the middle of his thoughts when Emilia’s parents rushed in with the triplets in tow.
“How is my baby?” Her mother asked worriedly, “Is she okay now? Her babies need to see her, I need to see her.” she continued. She just kept rambling on nonstop, and she failed to see that Alan wasn't paying any attention to her but was staring instead at the children who had his baby blue eyes.
“Whose kids are they?” he asked softly, cutting Emilia’s mother, Clara, off.
Clara was so shocked by the question that she immediately stopped her rambling and pulled her grandchildren behind her in a bid to protect them.
“What do you think you are doing, Clara? Are they mine?” Alan asked angrily, with a growling threat at the back of his throat. “They are mine, aren’t they?” Alan kept on badgering her with questions and started to raise his voice. He was annoyed, so much that he wasn't seeing clearly. Adam noticed his alpha was already blinded with rage, so great that he almost lost Emilia and his children before he even got to know of their existence.
“Alpha, please, you do not want to do this. You are scaring the children, and this is not good for a first impression.”
Alan could hear whimpers coming from the children and looking at what they went through today, it would do him no good scaring them any further. Calming himself and his wolf down, he took in a deep breath and turned to Clara he said, “We’ll talk about this later.”
The doctors were still busy with Emilia and he was not allowed to go in. He knew if he wanted nobody would stop him since he was the Alpha. He was starting to blame himself for asking her to return to the pack but if he didn't he wouldn't get to know she was his second chance mate and even get to meet his children. Speaking of his children, he could see them cling tightly to their grandmother but their grandfather was nowhere near them. He knew he had to take care of the prisoners' situation, so he mind-linked another of his beta and asked him to get his best warriors situated outside the door and window of the room in which Emilia was being treated.
“Where is Steve?” he asked Adam, “Don't tell me he is busy torturing some of the prisoners without my order?” Adam didn't get a chance to reply before Alan ran out of the clinic and dashed straight to the dungeons. He wanted to take care of those prisoners himself and if any of them lost their lives before he got there, Steve was going to explain how it happened.
“My Alpha is alive and he will be com… Ah!” one of the prisoners taken in from the claw pack screamed. His scream was what caught Alan’s attention as he neared the prison.
“Steve!” he called from the entrance, “What are you doing without my permission?”
“Alpha!” all the warriors and betas present shouted with loud voices in respect to Alan, all of them except Steve who was fuming with rage as he stood over one of the prisons whom he had beaten to death and at his side, laid another who is at the brink of death.
