Alice woke up the next day to the sun shining through the windows. Her vision was hazy, her head ached, and the ribs on the one side of her body were on fire. She touched her ribs lightly and found them bound. She blinked and, as her vision returned, she discovered that she didn’t know where she was. She was in a room. There was a door, but it was closed, and everything in the room was white – the walls, the ceiling, the dresser, and even the curtains.
She was naked but for a man’s white shirt. It was hiked up from her tossing and turning and the first thing she did upon waking was pull it down so that it covered her naughty bits. “What happened,” she wondered to herself.
