When Lucy opened her eyes, she realized that she’d drawn a sizable crowd. Among them, one person stood out and the fact that he’d seen her so vulnerable made her sick to her stomach. It was Byron and he had a huge s**t eating grin plastered to his face.
Byron and his mother had been fighting daily. Ever since Christina had her miscarriage, his mother had been pressuring him to let her go. Usually he could put up with it but today it had gotten to be too much and he’d just walked away from her, gotten in his car, and driven away.
