Chapter 2

New Love

Travis open his eyes and yawned. He turn his head and saw Lilly cute face, she is still sleeping. Travis slowly untangle himself from his mate, then he did a few stretches, letting his bone to give a satisfying crack. Travis then exit his den, the first ray of sunlight hitting his white fur. Travis stood still, soaking the sun's rays for a few minutes before going for his early morning run. Travis started with a light trot then then turn into a full sprint. Travis love to run in the morning, it's one of those things that relaxes him. Believe it or not, but Travis is the first fastest of the wolves, the second would be Luna. Travis have been running for over five minutes and is already approaching the lake. But before he stop, a figure ran past him. Travis looked up and saw brown fur.

Travis: "Garth?"

Travis quickly pick up speed. He was only five feet behind his cousin, who ran with great speed. Garth looked over his shoulder and saw his cousin trying to close the gap between them. Garth scoffed and pick up more speed. Leaving Travis behind. Travis growled and push his body to it's limits. This went on for over ten minutes before Garth stop at a lake in between the Western and Eastern pack. One minute later, Travis came and stop in front of him. Both were breathing heavily.

Travis: panting: "I didn't know you too run in the morning."

Garth: panting: "Every single morning. I needed to be fast for when I escape those humans."

Travis: "I see, well it's good to see that I have a new workout partner. Lilly and Luna only last five minutes then call quits. Same with Humphrey, but Kate and Michael always say that I cheat when I beat them."

Garth: "I rather not, this was just a one time thing. Now that I know that you too run, I will start to run at a different time and place."

Garth said as he took a drink. Travis happy smile quickly fell.

Travis: "Garth, why the f**k are you still mad at me for? Can't you see that it's over between you and Lilly?"

Garth stop his drinking and growled at his cousin, who growled right back at him.

Garth: "You stole her away from me, my love, my mate. Like hell I will just 'let' this go."

Travis rolled his eyes but instead of continuing to argue, Travis simply turn around and walked away. Somehow that got Garth even madder than he was. But he let his cousin go and continue his drinking.

Ten minutes later

Travis arrive at his and Lilly's den. He have already stop at a lake to take a drink. So now he was just hungry and tired. Lilly, Snow and Angel walked up to Travis. Lilly gave him a kiss on his cheek, while his two daughters nuzzle his leg.

Lilly: "Hey, did you enjoyed your run?"

Travis: "Kinda, it was great at first, then Garth join me making it even better. But he said that it was an only one thing."

Lilly: whimpering: "I see."

Travis smile and nuzzle his mate lovingly, a smile quickly appear on Lilly's face.

Snow: "So what are we going to do today dad?"

Travis: "I glad you asked. Today we are going fishing."

All three girls looked at the only male like he was crazy.

Angel: "Um dad…how are we going fishing?"

Travis: "I'll show you when we get to the lake, so hop to it."

Travis said, as he walked out the den. His mate and two daughters closed behind him. Travis took his family to an exclusive spot in the Eastern pack. It was an hour walked from the pack to this special lake. When they arrived, a bunch of bushes block their path. Travis grab a limb and pull it away, a hole that was big enough shown. All three ran into the hole, Travis soon following after them. All three females gasped in awe.

Travis: smiling: "Told you it was worth the walked."

A pond/lake that was over 20 feet wide and over 30 feet deep, with a giant waterfall, three apple trees, a bunch of Lillie flowers at another end. It was the most beautiful place the girls have ever seen.

Snow: "Wow dad, this place is amazing!"

Angel: "And so romantic."

Travis: "If I smell any other male wolf in this area, they're dead."

Lilly hit Travis behind his head, which cause the older male to whine. The two younger girls giggle at their dad.

Travis: "Okay so here is what we're going to do. I will jump into the water and go down to catch the fish. You three will wait at the edge and catch the fish when I threw them out of the water. Got it?"

Lilly: "Yap."

Snow: "Gotcha."

Angel: "Yes sir."

With that, Travis walked up to the lake/pond and cannonball into the water. A big splash of water hitting all three girls who shriek. Travis head pop up and a grin on his face.

Lilly: "Travis you did that intentionally you jerk."

Travis: smirking: "Did I? Anyway I will go down now, so get ready."

All three girls stood at the edge of the lake/pond. Travis took a deep breath in and dive down into the water.

Water

Travis vision is one of the best in the pack. Travis quickly located a few fishes in the slightly murky water. Travis swam toward a fish and bit down on the fish's tail, next he swam toward the surface. But before coming up, he turn the opposite direction of his family and with all his strength fling the fish and his head out of the water.

With the girls.

Lilly was started to get worried, Travis have been underwater for almost two minutes. Lilly was going to jump into the water, when both the fish and her mate head came out of the water. The fish flew into the air and landed two feet behind Angel, Snow and Lilly.

Travis: "Hurry and kill it before it get back into the water!"

With great reflexes, Angel turn around and on her first try bit the huge one feet fish head off. Its blood smear her furs, but they were use to it (eating deer and caribou).

Lilly: "Are you alright love?"

Travis: "Yes love, I'm fine."

Lilly let out a breath she didn't even know that she held.

Angel: "Mom, dad did you see that? My first killed, even if it is a fish."

Lilly: smiling: "I did dear, you will be a excellent hunter like you grandparents when you grow up."

Snow: whining: "I didn't kill any."

Travis: "Don't cry Snow, we still got lots more fishes to capture so you will get a chance."

Snow smile at her dad and nod her head. Travis took another deep breath and drive back into the water. Half a minute later, Travis and another fish came out of the water. But this time Lilly quickly killed it.

Lilly: "Next one is yours sweetie."

Travis when in again, and came back out with another fish. Snow tried to killed it, but it jump and slap her across her face with it's tail. Snow wince in pain, the fish quickly jump back into the water. Snow started to cry from both the slap and missing the fish.

Lilly: "Its okay Snow, your dad will get you another one."

Travis: "Chin up Snow, we will try again, okay."

Angel: "You got this one sis."

Snow smile at her family and clear her tears cover face. Travis smile and when back down, only to come back up with a two footer. As the hit the grassy ground, Snow leap up and landed on top of the slightly bigger fish. It took her a few seconds but Snow bit down on the fish's neck. Blood cover her fur, and the fish stop it's moving.

Snow: "I did it, mom, dad, sis I did it!"

Angel: "Alright Snow."

Lilly: "Excellent job sweetie. Angel you got yourself a rival."

Angel: "The best rival I could ever asked for."

Travis swam toward his family, he got out and shake himself off. Snow tackle her dad, almost making them both falling back into the pond/lake. Travis chuckle and nuzzle his daughter.

Travis: "You did great Snow."

Snow: smiling: "Thanks dad."

The family ate the three fishes that they caught. It's the first time all three girls ever ate something that wasn't deer or caribou. And it was delicious. After their breakfast/lunch, they took a quick bath to wash the blood off their fur. Snow and Angel started to play in the Lilies of flower, while Lilly lay on her side with her mate laying on his back, his head on her stomach.

Lilly: "You plan this didn't you?"

Lilly asked her mate, while she petted his mane/hair with her paw. Travis slowly open his tired eyes, a smile on his face.

Travis: "Kinda, I guess I wanted them to be ready for when they grow up. I am afraid for when they grow up and I want to spend as much time with them before that and be an great dad for them."

Lilly: "Travis, this what you did is by far the greatest fatherly things you have ever done. And you are a great dad. You show both girls equal love, you care for them both and show both your undivided attention. Other dads (like her) would only show the oldest, or the one their thought is the best all the attention. But you give them both equal love. That is more them and me could ever asked for."

Lilly said with tears of joy sliding down her cheeks. Travis reach out his head and lick all her tears. The action itself cause Lilly's face to flush deep red. Next Travis kissed her passionately for a few seconds (20). Before pulling away with a smile on his face. That cause Lilly too to smile.

Travis: "Thank you Lilly. And you is the same, you're the world greatest mom and mate any wolf could ever asked for. I love you Lilly."

Lilly: "I love you too Travis."

Lilly gave Travis another kiss before continuing to watch her pups. Travis nuzzle her soft fur, then fell asleep.

Two hours later

Travis and Lilly walked into the Eastern pack with a sleeping Snow on Lilly's back and a sleeping Angel on Travis'. Tony saw them and walked up toward them, a huge smile on his face.

Tony: whispering: "Hey you two, I just wanted to tell you that today's hunt was a great success. It seems Luna and Garth worked really good together and was able to bring in extras killed."

Travis: whispering: "Really? Wow that's great uncle. Let me go put the girls down and go get a report from Luna about the hunt."

Tony: whispering: "Okay."

Lilly and Travis when into their den, where they carefully put their pups down. The two whine but sigh happily when Lilly lay down beside them. Travis gave both a nuzzle and kiss. Then gave his mate a kiss on the lips before walking out of their den. It didn't took Travis too long to find Luna.

Travis: "Hey Luna, can you tell me what happen this morning for the hunt?"

Travis asked one of his best friend. Luna smile and nod at her pack leader.

Luna: sigh dreamily: "Well…."

Travis listen to Luna's report, but mostly pay close attention to the way her tune, body and everything change every time she mention Garth. But it seems that Garth got along with every wolves very well, even Luna.

Travis: "Okay Luna, thank you. Oh and if you do see Garth, please tell him that tomorrow we will go to the Western pack tomorrow. And if he ask why, just tell him cause I say."

Luna nod her head. Travis petted her head which cause her to bite at his paw. Travis of course pull it away just in time. The two shared a quick laugh before Travis continue his pack leader duty.

Travis: thought: {In all in all, today was a great day. Garth doing his duty, the pups got their first killed and you got more kills. Yap today was a great day.}
