Wolf Girl

chapter 3

I walked around the whole night trying to find him unfortunately I wasn’t having any luck right now and to top it off the sun had started to shine brightly as I walked through a now crowded street. I have overheard a lot of conversations, some which I didn’t understand but one did particularly stand out to me. It was two girls talking about a wild child that lives in the mountains, they said the child protects the wolves and even kills humans. One said it was a girl the other said boy, but they kept referring to the wild child as a she. She would change when she got angry, her eyes would glow a bright ice blue and her nails would grow and sharpen, her teeth became pointed and razor sharp and can rip out a deer's throat. Little did they know that the wild child they were talking about is me and not everything they were saying was true. I never once took a human life for It is forbidden in the forest to kill humans and we are only allowed to kill what we can eat and nothing more, if we were to break that law we would get banished from the forest. I couldn’t help but shake my head and chuckle, I walked further into the city when I finally caught Valor’s scent. I headed in the direction it was taking me, I came upon a house that looked run down but it was covered in cameras. I needed to get a hold of a computer and quickly, I needed to hack into these cameras and see if he was in there.

I stood there when all of a sudden someone ran into me making me fall over. I grunted while pushing myself off of the ground, when a hand reached under my arm and helped hoisting me up onto my feet.

“Are you okay? I am very sorry, I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going.”

I looked into the eyes of a boy who looked to be around my age. I happened to notice that he was carrying a bag and he had black hair with caramel colored stripes all through it. He was wearing a black t-shirt and jeans, he looked pretty handsome. Unable to respond to him in time he then asked me if I needed help because I looked like I had lived off the streets. Without waiting for me to reply he grabbed ahold of my arm and led me down the street. We walked up to a house and he opened the door, I am assuming that this was his home. Once inside he hollered mom and a woman who looked to be about forty walked into the room we were standing in. She was pretty, she was wearing a tan colored sundress. He asked his mom if I could shower and get a change of clothes. She only nodded and grabbed my arm to lead me to what he called a shower room. After fighting with the woman and her ending up winning I was clean of dirt and grime and in clothes that smelled kind of nice. The scent sort of reminded me of momma with it’s hint of wildflower. I walked behind her as she led me to another room where the boy was sitting on something. If my memory serves me correctly it was called a couch.

“My name is Java, this is my mom Ashley.” They both smiled at me. I smiled back and just nodded to them, I didn’t want them to know who I was and where I came from. I feared that they would lock me up just like Valor and if that happened who would be able to get Valor back to his home. After a short time of waiting in silence and them realizing that I am not going to talk they offered me to stay the night and eat dinner with them. I only nodded and agreed to it because at that moment Java opened something that was sitting on the table. With his mom leaving the room and him being fully focused on the weird looking thing, I decided to move closer to him to see what he was doing. After watching him for a while I realized that the thing he was on is none other than a computer. I smiled excitedly as I had found what I was trying to get a hold of to hack into the security system. Java must have seen me because he chuckled at how I marveled at the little portable computer and in all honesty when I had been abandoned and lived with my wolf family they never had these thin computers then, they only had the big ones that were not so portable like this. I watched him closely and with my ability to learn fast just by watching something only once I was learning how to use it, I needed to hurry and find Valor before he ended up being taken farther away or even worse, dead.

Ashley called for us to come and eat. I followed him to a table that was loaded with food, we started to eat and I snuck some food into my pocket. I would need to give it to Valor later in case the one who took him hadn’t fed him. I just hoped that Java and his mom wouldn't notice it, I wouldn’t know what to say if they found me stealing food. Later after everyone was done eating Java’s mom had made me a place to sleep, which I thought was very uncomfortable. I am used to the hard ground and this bed that she wanted me to sleep on was too soft which made it easier for me to stay awake. Once they had fallen asleep I crept down the steps and sat on the couch with the computer. I thought back to the location of the house where Valor’s scent led me. I then began typing furiously as I hacked into the pup nappers home. Once I was able to pull up what I was looking for on the computer I was so excited I went straight to work.
