Naomi’s POV
I have been living in hell ever since I saw Nathaniel and the elevators that day.
For the first time in ten years, I couldn’t get him out of my mind.
The truth is, I’ve loved him for as long as I could remember before he became my mate. Love turned into hate, because it was easy to hate him. It was all because he was, at the time, the one thing I couldn’t have. I know some may consider me crazy for tormenting the guy that I said I suppose loved, and even though there is no reason behind my actions other than badly wanting him, I know you would never understand. I knew I was wrong and I knew I had messed up then. I regretted everything I did to Nathaniel and I wanted to apologize and make amends, but he didn’t know he couldn’t hear me out.
He wasn’t the same runt from high school, but he had transformed into a striking handsome wolf; his broad shoulders, the way his muscles filled out his expensive Amani suit, his jet black hair and big brown eyes all made me weak in the knees.
“ Damn, he was fine.” The way we left things haunted my heart. Why couldn’t I have accepted his rejection? I just couldn’t accept it after loving him for so long and not being able to tell him. I didn’t deserve him, but I was grateful to the moon goddess for repairing us together.I thanked her everyday, now I just needed a way to get through to him.
My plan was to get him to forgive and accept me.
Although I have no memory that day of who he was. I still remember the things we did. I found myself reminiscing about his chiseled abs and jawline, and how he made me scream in ecstasy as he entered me.
His touch set shivers down my spine and his kisses left me breathless. I can still recall the sensation of trailing my fingers up and down his incredible, sexy abs, leading to his well-defined v-cut. It was as if the night was playing on a loop in my mind, and I couldn’t escape the images.
I remember, gasping at the sheer size of his manhood, wondering if I could take all of it.
No, this wasn’t the runt from high school I remembered.
“Earth to Naomi!” Rosy said, amused.
“ Not now, Rose, I’m in the middle of something important.”
“Yeah, drooling over Nathaniel, but I can’t blame you though. Our mate is one hot wolf..”
“I wonder what he does for this company,” I said, curious.
I turned on the computer and began to search for Nathaniel Alistair in the company database.
“Don’t, you’ll get in trouble for this, Naomi,” Rose scolded.
“When has that ever stopped me?”
“Just stick to work, we can’t afford to lose this job. We need to help Dad.” She reminded me.
“Go on a coffee run” Stacy, Mr. Anderson’s executive assistant, and my boss ordered me to go before I could retrieve the search results for Nathaniel.
“Yes ma’am” I replied.
"Where are you going?" Stacy asked, looking at me with surprise.
"You haven't taken the orders yet. You need to take everybody's order before you go and get the coffee," she explained.
After taking everyone's coffee orders, I headed over to the cafe to collect the coffees.
I made my way to the cafe, a mix of frustration and determination fueled my steps.
The thoughts of Nathaniel and the unanswered questions about his role in the company lingered in the back of my mind.
Still, I couldn't afford to draw any more attention to my actions; I had already pushed the limits.
I stood in line, glancing around at the bustling office environment.
Colleagues chatted, and the low hum of conversation filled the air.
Finally, it was my turn to order the coffee. I rattled off the complicated list of preferences from my colleagues, making sure to get each order correct.
The barista hurriedly prepared the coffees, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in my ability to juggle the demands of my job.
Carrying the tray of coffees, I made my way back to the office. Stacy was waiting, a stern expression on her face.
"Took you long enough," she remarked.
"I apologize for the delay," I said, offering the coffees to my colleagues one by one.
As they each took their cup, a sense of relief washed over me.
This task was complete, but I knew that more challenges lay ahead, both at work and in my pursuit of the truth about Nathaniel.
After completing my demanding tasks, I returned to my desk to handle phone calls and continue my search to uncover Nathaniel's role within the company.
I delved into my search once more when Stacy reappeared at my desk, wearing a quizzical expression.
"You are wanted in the CEO's office. What did you do?" she asked, her tone laced with suspicion.
I couldn't help but feel a surge of anxiety at Stacy's question.
The CEO's office was a place I had yet to step into, and I couldn't help but wonder if my curiosity about Nathaniel's role had raised red flags.
"I haven't done anything," I replied, attempting to keep my voice steady. "I'll head to the CEO's office right away."
Stacy nodded, her gaze sharp, and I could tell she was more than a little curious about the reason for the summons.
With a deep breath, I gathered my composure and made my way to the CEO's office, the looming mysteries of my workplace and my own secrets casting a shadow over the unexpected meeting.
"I told you so," Rose's voice echoed in the recesses of my mind as I ascended from the elevator to the highest executive floor of ByteTech.
The elevator doors slid open, revealing a sophisticated and imposing executive suite.
The atmosphere was a stark contrast to the bustling lower floors of the company, radiating power and authority.
I stepped out and was greeted by an assistant who guided me toward the CEO's office.
As I walked down the corridor, the weight of my decision and the mysteries surrounding Nathaniel's role in this company clouded my mind.
With a deep breath, I knocked on the CEO's door, preparing to face whatever awaited me on the other side.
"What I found next, had me living in literal hell!"
