Chapter 10.

1127 Words
Jason sat at the steering about to move his car after a stressful day. Just as he turned on the ignition, he got a call, and it was from Douglas. Jason let out a deep sigh before picking up the phone and placing it on his right ear. “Yes, Douglas” he answered reluctantly. “Jason, I got news” Douglas said over the phone. “Spill” Jason responded. “Your girl, she’s nowhere in town. Searched for her myself, seems she made a run for it. So I’ll advise you to call your boys back, it’s useless now” Douglas narrated. Jason kept silent for a while, trying to process the information he had just received. “Are you there?” Douglas asked. “Yeah sure” Jason answered hurriedly. “Ok then, I guess I don’t owe yah, goodnight bro” Douglas remarked, and immediately hung up. Jason dropped the phone, his eyes laser focused, staring into nothing. “Damn it!” he cursed, slamming his fist on his thigh. “This isn’t good, this isn’t looking good at all” he continued to swear. It was already about 4:30pm, and the train made a stop at the train station. Emily was instantly woken up by the halt of the train, and stood up as soon as she realized everyone was leaving the train. Once outside, she pulled out her phone from her handbag, opening it and scrolling through till she made a stop. She zoomed into the image and read out the words written on it to herself. “ReinLavisa fashion school, New York” she called out, before taking a deep breath and walking down. She managed to get to the ticket stand, standing in line till it was her turn. “Hello ma’am how can we help you?” the middle aged man at the counter asked. “Uhmmm, sorry to interrupt. I was wondering if you could direct me on how to get to ReinLavisa, I don’t want to get stranded or ask the wrong people” Emily stated. The man looked at Emily and let out a warm smile, one that really made Emily find a little comfort. “New here aren’t ya?” the man asked. Emily simply nodded. “That’s okay, I’ll just write them down so you wouldn’t forget” he said. He began to scribble something down in a notepad and when he was done, he drew out the note and handed it over to Emily. “Take this, it would help you” he said. “Thank you” Emily said with a slight bow. “The pleasure is all mine” the man at the counter responded. Emily walked away and headed out of the train station. After she walked over to the road, a good number of people were waiting for the bus, while some just opted to take taxis. Emily checked her bag, and realized she didn’t have so much for boarding a taxi. She looked at the paper in her palm for a minute, before squeezing it close again. Just immediately, a bus stopped by, and she joined the rest of the people waiting to match towards the bus. Jason got into the bedroom, his briefcase in his hand. As he got in, he saw Diane, seated gracefully in her night robe, legs crossed with a glass of wine on the table and a magazine in front of her, placed on the round small wooden table close to one of the windows in the room. Diane turns and looks at Jason before she looks away and sips from her wineglass. Jason takes a deep breath and walks over to Diane. “Hey babe” he says, as he bends over and tries to give her a peck. Diane turns away, removing her face. “What’s going on babe? Why the attitude?” Jason asked. “Jason what on earth is going on?” Diane asked turning her angry glare at him, despite her cool tone. “Baby I went out with Douglas, nothing more” Jason answered casually. “Oh yeah? So why did the police come here this morning and make a fuss? Is there something you aren’t telling me?” She asked. Jason bent down, taking Diane’s hand into he’s, looking passionately and sincerely into her eyes. “Baby, trust me I did nothing. It’s all sorted out already. Turns out that a murder took place not far from the bar, shortly after we left. As someone identified to be around the vicinity, the cops came over to ask a few questions. But it’s all good now” Jason lied. Diane looked into his charming eyes, she saw no loopholes, no contradictions in his story. “Babe you should tell me when you head out, it’s important that I know” she finally responded, her glare softening up to a tender stare Jason smiled, he began to stroke her black hair, placing it over her ear. “I’m sorry baby it won’t happen again, I promise” he assured her. Diane nodded softly, a sweet smile spreading across her face. “So don’t give me a cold shoulder no more, okay?” Jason asked sweetly. Diane smiled mischievously, before she slowly stood up and undid her night robe. She was dressed in the lace lingerie, her hands playing with her hair, while her eyes scanned Jason seductively. Jason’s jaw dropped, his eyes wandering over Diane’s sexy body. He instantly grabbed her, pulling her to himself. Without hesitation, he began to kiss her, like his life depended on it. Diane swung her arms over his neck, responding to his kiss. The bus stopped at a particular bus stop, and some people dropped, including Emily. She immediately checked her phone, her face squeezing in disappointment by what she had just seen. “Damn it, it’s 6:00pm already” she muttered to herself. “Hey sis! Take the other road behind you and just keep walking till you get there!” the driver shouted. Emily got this, she had initially told the driver to help her with the direction. “Thank you sir!” she shouted in response. But by this time, the bus had moved away. Emily took a deep breath and began to make her way down the road behind her. She walked for about twenty minutes and at some point, she was scared that she had gotten lost. But soon, her fears dispersed, she got to a road which had a small arrow shaped signboard pointing into it. “ReinLavisa fashion school is this way” the arrow read. Immediately Emily saw this, her face lit up. She instantly hurried down the road, with so much excitement.
