3. Parties and Short Dresses

I woke up in the morning only to realize no one else was there. Did I sleep for a long time? Has everyone left me? I checked the time on my phone. It was just 9:32 am. Where is everybody? Then I remembered they had to go to their dance camp. I stood up and went to take a hot shower, wore my sweatpants and a tee since Kelsie wasn't there to force me into wearing those uncomfortable clothes. I head out to the cafè that was only two blocks from here and practically the only place I know in this town. I sipped my coffee slowly while playing candy crush on my phone. "Nice to see you again, princess" A somehow familiar voice spoke, startling me from my game. It was Damon. The dude who kinda saved our asses last night. "Uh..H-hey?" He wore a black V-neck T-shirt inside a leather jacket, he had many bands on his wrists, all of them in dark colours, giving out this badboy vibe and I gotta admit, I found that very attractive. "Like what you're seeing princess?" He asks with a playful smirk on his face, bringing me back from my thoughts. He just caught me checking him out. Whoop-de-do! I felt my cheeks heating up but I still managed to choke out, "The name's Jenna, not princess," with all the dignity I had left. He chuckled slightly, "I can call you whatever I like princess." "Okay then, this is my cue to leave," I mutter, annoyed. I stood up ready leave. He has just arrived and he was already making me feel uncomfortable. "Why so soon, princess?" "I have dance camp to go to," I lied. "Ah! She can dance too! You go to the dance camp? How come i've never seen you before?" "Um, which dance camp are you talking about?" "There is only one dance camp in this town princess," he answers me with a smirk. "Oh. Its..um, a very big place, its not really easy to spot one person, i'm sure," I stammer, playing with my nails. "Well then princess, my group is having a party on Friday, I hope you can make it," He said, handing me a flyer. "I'm not sure if I can come." "It would make me happy if you'd come though," He answers, tucking a loose strand of my hair behind my ears. He turned to leave, leaving me there gaping, still stunned over what happened. What just happened? Finally regaining myself, I straightened up and headed out to the dance camp to watch the rest of the guys dance since I had nothing else to do. I watch them dance to chandelier by Sia and I had to admit, they were really good. Kelsie looked like she was really enjoying herself. Her passion was dancing, she loved dancing since she was four and always performed on talent nights during high school, that is what made her really popular. Unlike me, I have no talent nor passion for anything. You know, if you take out food from the list of things i'm passionate about. There is literally nothing I can do. "That's it for today, good job. See you guys tomorrow," their coach finally spoke up. "I know i'm good at dancing-wait, what am I saying? Im great!- but you shouldn't drool over me that much, an applause would've been more appreciated," Chase said, wiping his face with a towel. Egotistic jerk. I scoffed, "stare at you?" I stiffled a laugh, "I think my eyes would rather be shoved into a cactus" I retorted. "Actions speak louder than words, sol" "Actions speak- what?! How does that even go with what we are talking about? And what in the name of Zac Efron is sol?" "Sol means sunshine in spanish, dumbass," Kelsie answers me with a smirk, interrupting our little argument. I blushed at what he called me but quickly brought my hair to my face to cover it up. "Let's go grab something to eat before it gets dark, I don't want to go out late like yesterday, and get ganged up again," Zoe complained, grabbing her bag and taking my arm, dragging me out. We went to taco bell and ordered our foods. I scarfed down my burrito hungrily, finishing my food first. "Whoa dude! You're fast!" Joe exclaimed, a wide shocked grin on his face, giving me a fist bump. I grinned proudly. "Princess," A voice that I had become so familiar with, shouted. I turned to face Damon who was seated in the table at the far corner to my right. He had a smirk plastered on his face, motioning for me to go to him. I hesitated seeing as this time he was not alone, but with a group of guys and girls; Most of them in dark clothes. I recognized three guys immediately as the ones who ganged up on us. "It's okay, they won't hurt you princess," He said, seeing that I was hesitating because of them. He was shouting, causing people's attention to turn to us. My cheeks turned a bright shade of pink. I am not used to being the centre of attention. Turning back to my table, I noticed everyone in the group looking at me, with stunned expressions on their faces. "You know him?" Kelsie asked me. "Uh, I-No I don't, we just talked this morning, but thats it," I answered her, biting my nails, a habit I have when I get nervous. "He is bad news, don't interract with those kind of people," Kelsie said, with a worried expression. "You won't come? I guess i'll just have to join you then," Damon said, taking a chair and joining our table, sitting next to me. The whole table became quiet and it became awkward but that didn't seem to bother Damon. "So princess, you coming on friday?" I shook my head. "Why not?" "I can't come alone,"I replied soflty, looking at my empty plate. "Your whole group can come, its alright. Anything for my princess," he replied, a cheerful grin on his face. I bent down to cover my flaming cheeks. Oh lord! Why was it so easy for me to blush? "I'm not your 'princess', Damon." "See you on Friday at 11 princess," He goes on, completely ignoring my comment about the princess thing. He ruffled my hair and went back to his table. "Explain," Kelsie states. "Yeah. Explain," Chase repeated. I glared at Chase, "I'm not going to explain because there is nothing to explain about, and even if there was, Chase, I wouldn't explain anything to you." Chase kept his mouth shut but he kept glaring at me. The rest of the meal was quiet. - "Now that we are not with the guys, care to explain what that was?" Kelsie told me when we reached home and we were already in our rooms. So I told them everything, from the night I caught him staring until this morning at the cafè. "I don't like this guy, and if you have any feelings for him, I suggest you stay away from him, he is only going to break your heart. I saw him this morning with this blonde chick, practically sucking each other's-" "Okay, I don't need the details," I stopped her mid-sentence, "I don't like him or anything close to that, I mean, ew! So you have nothing to worry about." "What's so ew about him though? He is so hot!" Zoe squeeled. I rolled my eyes at her. "Yeah but he is practically a walking STD!" Kelsie exclaimed, with a disgusted look on her face. "We are still going to the party though, right?" Zoe asked, pinning her hair up in a ponytail. Kelsie chuckled, "ofcourse, good chance for us to meet new hot guys," she said, winking. - The week passed by very quickly and it was already Friday. "Jason, Chase and Joe are against this," Lexie said, suddenly barging into the room. "Well, they can stay but we are going," Zoe said, applying mascara on her already long lashes. She was already dressed and was just applying makeup on while I was sitting on the bed eating cheesepuffs and Kelsie was in the bathroom taking a shower. "It's safer if the guys come with us, you know," Lexie pointed out. "I'm sure Jason won't let you go without him," I told Lexie and she nodded, agreeing with me. "Great! So we have one guy with us, its going to be alright, so stop worrying," Zoe said. "Why are you not getting ready?" Lexie asked me. "I'm ready" I told her, pointing at my beatles T-shirt and yoga pants. She looked at me like i've grown a pair of donkey ears. "You are going to a party dressed like that?!" She shrieked. "No she isn't," Kelsie said, coming out from the bathroom. "Wear this," She went on, throwing a strapless blue dress at me. "I'm not wearing a dress." "Oh, believe me, you are." "Make me," I demanded, crossing my arms across my chest with my head held high. "Jenna, stop being so stubborn, wear the fùcking dress or we're going to do it forcefully," Lexie said, her voice intimidating. I stood up quickly and headed to the bathroom, the dress in my hands, with a scowl on my face. "Wow! You look gorgeous! Who knew you had such sexy legs underneath all those baggy clothes," Kelsie exclaimed when I got out of the bathroom. The dress was short, it stopped at mid-thigh, hugging my figure in all the right places. In my suggestion, there was too much cleavage showing. "I don't feel comfortable in this," I complained. "I don't care. You look great and that's what matters." I groaned and tied my hair in a bun. "Let me take care of that," Zoe said, removing my pin and letting my hair down, taking the curling iron. Fifteen minutes later, she was done. I glanced at myself in the full length mirror, I had to admit, I looked good. "I'll do make up," Lexie said eagerly, opening her make up kit. "Don't overdo it" I warned her. "Shut up and let me do what i'm best at." She said, grabbing an eye liner. Thankfully, she didn't apply much on me, just eyeliner, mascara and a touch of lipgloss and I was done. "Take these" Kelsie said, handing me a pair of black platform heels. "I'm not wearing heels." "Just for this night, please." "How will I even walk on those?" "I'll teach you, now wear them." And I obliged, don't even ask why I had agreed to all this, because I don't even know myself. We were all done by half past 12. The guys complained. Apperently, they all agreed to come in the end. I caught Chase staring at me at the corner of my eyes. "What?" I asked him, with a raised eyebrow. "You look stunning." I blushed, "thank you." I wasn't expecting a compliment from Chase, out of all people. "Don't be used to it, by tommorow you'll be the same old ugly hag." "Way to ruin a nice moment," I muttered, rolling my eyes. And there is the Chase I know.
