2. Dance Camp and Mysterious Bad Boy

1354 Words
I was having a very good dream about pizza when someone decided to disrupt my sleep. "Wake up, you lazy ass!" Kelsie screeches in my ear loudly before jumping on the bed, causing me to literally drop on the floor with a loud 'thud'. "Ouch! Could you be more gentle with that?" I groaned, rubbing my temples where I had bumped my head with the corner of my bed. "You wouldn't wake up moron! We are running late, Chase will be here in fifteen minutes, hurry up!" She complains, checking the time on her watch. I roll my eyes in reply, standing up lazily to go to the bathroom. I undress and enter the shower, letting the warm water cascade down my body, erasing all my drowsiness away. "Jenna! They are here!" Kelsie calls out a few minutes later, banging on the bathroom door. I quickly got out of the shower, wore the shorts and tank top that Kelsie somehow convinced me to wear. I got out of the bathroom, grabbed my phone and suitcase and hurried down to the car where Kelsie and Chase were waiting for me. "Wow!" Chase exclaims as I climbed the car. I give him a weird look, my left eyebrow arched "what?" "This is the first time I'm seeing you dressed presentable. It suits you." Did Chase just compliment me? "My work," Kelsie pouts out proudly. I roll my eyes, it's the last time they are going to see me in clothes Kelsie picks out for me. I plug on my earphone, tuning out the world. We made a stop at a house and a pretty dark skin girl walked out of the house, walking towards the car. "Hey," she greets us with a huge grin on her face, making me automatically like her. I smile as I say hey back. We chat amiably for a while, She is a very talkative girl. I found out her mum was that famous Tanzanian business woman Anna Rose. The next stop was at McDonald's. We didn't stop for food as I had hoped, but we picked up two other people. A girl with a pixie cut and a tall guy with dark hair and dark eyes. They enter the car and sat at the back. "That is Lexie and Jason," Zoe - the half Tanzanian chick tells me, gesturing towards the two. I smiled at them, "I'm Jenna, Kelsie's sister." "Nice to meet you," they say in unison, smiling back. I plug my earphones back, deciding it was enough socialising for the day. As soon as I hear Adam Levine's voice, my mind blocks out the world. "HEY!" Someone shouts in my ear, making me jump. I didn't realise I had fallen asleep. "What!" I screech, glaring at the blonde guy with his stupid attractive blue eyes. "I said hey." "I heard that very well," I answer with gritted teeth. "This was the fourth time I'm greeting me but you couldn't hear me because of your earphones." "Exactly why I put them on," I reply, snatching my earphone from him. "Someone is PMS-ing," he says, rolling his eyes. HE. DID. NOT. "I-" I started, but was cut of by Kelsie. "She is just in a bad mood today Joe, she will be fine when we get there," Kelsie says, looking back at us. - "We are here," Kelsie squeals excitedly, getting out of the car. We followed behind and I took a chance to look around. The place was big, the tall walls were painted with musical instruments. The place was packed with different groups of people dancing to different songs. The place was lively. We walked inside the building and I waited at the hallway as the rest went to register themselves before we made our way to the house we rented online. We reach the house in about 7 minutes, so it was not far off from the camp. It had two bedrooms, a living room, kitchen and two bathrooms. We divide ourselves according to gender before we unpacked our suitcases in our room. It was getting dark by the time we were done with unpacking. I could hear my stomach rumbling. I was very hungry, I didn't eat the whole day. "I'm hungry," I announce, jumping on the bed with a sigh. "Me too," Kelsie and Zoe agree with me. "Let us find the closest restaurant to grab something to eat, I'll go let the guys know," Lexie says as she heads out of the room. - "I'm so tired and there are no restaurants open," Joe complains. We had been walking for about half an hour around the neighbourhood. So far there wasn't a single restaurant open and I was getting hungrier and frustrated. Whose idea was it to walk instead of taking he car anyway? "Wait! What's that?" I ask, pointing at a restaurant straight ahead. There was no one inside but the lights were on so I assumed it might be open. We practically ran towards the restaurant, but by the time we reach there, we realise the owner was just closing it up. "Sorry do you know any restaurants nearby that are open at this time?" Jason asks the owner. "Yes, two streets from here, take a left at the second street, there is a pizza place that should be open," he says, giving us more directions with his hands. "Thanks," we all say in unison, turning towards the direction he showed us. We turned to a street which was really quiet. I shiver slightly when a breeze passed by, tightening my grip on my coat. "Want a hug? I could give you my body heat, you're lucky I'm generous today," Chase says with a wink. I snort, "I don't want to catch any disease from you." I retort, shoving him aside. "Your loss," he answers with a shrug. Out of the blue, a group of three guys approached us. They wore dark clothes with different piercings and tattoos, two of them holding a cigarette. Goosebumps appeared on my skin, immediately feeling uncomfortable. "Got any money, mate?" the one without a cigarette asks. "Nah bro, we are just walking around," Jason answers calmly. I was freaking out inside. How could he be so calm about this? These guys look violent. I'm not the one to judge, but the way they were looking at us was completely obvious. They had danger written all over them. You know when someone is staring at you and you can feel it? Like out of the corner of your eye, you can sense that someone is watching you? Well that is what I'm feeling right now. I turned to my left and saw a guy leaning against a wall in an alley, staring towards my direction. I tried looking behind me to see if there was anyone or anything else he could be staring at, but there was nothing. I risk another eye contact with him and his lips twisted at the sides forming a smile. My eyes widen in surprise and I quickly turn to look in front where the rest of the guys were talking to the three guys, when suddenly one of them throws a punch at Jason. I gasp, suddenly getting scared again. What did I miss? Even though Jason was strong, these guys look stronger and I wouldn't be surprised if they have weapons with them. "What was that for?" Joe asks, stepping in between them. "We want money or neither of you are going out alive," one of them speaks. "Cut it off guys," a rather husky voice comes from behind them. I turn to face the owner of the voice only to see it was the guy that was smiling at me a few minutes ago. "But Damon-" "I said let them go," he cuts him off, his voice commanding. "Alright," the one that was about to beat the s**t out of Jason says with a sigh, backing away from us. "You can thank me later," Damon, I think his name was, tells us. Only he was looking straight at me.
