I ran in caution through the hallway to the operating room, it seemed that there was a car accident happened. I fixed my mask and puts on some gloves before entering the room, sigh “this is going to be bloody” I really hate bloods. 47 minutes later… “Whoo, finally!” I said as I stepped out of the operating room. I stretched my arms, thankfully the patient is not bleeding so much, aside from that I hate it, he will most likely die if he lose too much blood. Why did I take nursing if I hate blood if you ask? Well, actually.. “Good work, Zia! We manage to save that person’s life” said theo who just came out of the operating room. He is always happy when we save someone regardless of how difficult it is, that’s right it is his passion after all. He gives me a warm smile, a smile that can capture any girl’s heart. I mean, who wouldn’t? His brown hair complements his bright blue eyes, his nose is in perfect shape, and his lips are so kissable. You can compare him with an idol, or a doll. Aside from his perfect looks, he is a very kind hearted and a caring person. I can’t really think of anyone who dislikes this guy. Well, like any other girls, I had a crush on him since med school but I know that he doesn’t see me as a potential girlfriend. I know that, he doesn’t particularly treats me special, he treats everyone fair. He is like a star that I can never reach. “Theo! Good job as always, it is such a shame that I was assisting the elderly, I could help you earlier” Suddenly Elize, our fellow co worker barge in. As always, she will flirt with Theo again. Great, I know where this is going, I better get out of here. Elize is annoying, I swear. “It is okay Elize, everything went great! Zia helped us earlier” Theo replied with a smile, and oh no Elize give me a death glare. Like come on, it is my duty as a nurse, hellooo? “Is that so? But still, I am much more efficient than Zia, well anyway, Theo can we have dinner tonight together? My treat!” Wow! I kinda want to give her a middle finger right now. I tried my best holding my smile, but I think it is near to impossible. Oh God Theo thank you for being born. Again, Elize with her death glare, and it is even more intense than the last one. I think if looking can kill, I am long dead and even after I die, she would kill me again. This crazy obsess woman! “Excuse me, I think I should go help the maternity ward, bye theo and ugh bye elise, have a good day” I wave them both goodbye as I walk pass them. I look back at theo before I walk inside the maternity ward, why does he looks sad? and this coocoo (elize) is smiling like she won a lottery ticket. Elize gaze back at me and oh boy she give me a victorious smirk. Crazy, really. I let out a sigh before entering and greet the new mothers a warm greetings. After the working shift Ah, work is done, I think I should head out now, I am exhausted today, being a nurse is sure a tiring job. There are times that I wanna quit even before I am in med school, but Theo give me the motivation and inspiration to go through and succeed. Honestly, without him I don’t think I can make it. Of coarse it was really worth it, I can be a help to other people and also help the long dream of Theo, after all, he is the reason why I am here, and I am certainly happy despite all of the tiring tasks. Okayy, time to go home! I walked peacefully through the hallway to the exit. When I was near the exit I saw Lei, one of our co worker, she is also have extreme crush for Theo but not as crazy as Elize, so we become good acquaintance. “Hey Lei! Our shift is over, are you planning on taking an over time?” I approach Lei and she look at me with confusion. Uhhh, I don’t think I said something wrong, why does she looks confuse. “What are you talking about Zia? All nurses and doctors are summon to an urgent meeting right now, I was just about to go there” Ohhhh, so that was the hospital manager talked about earlier, Oh no, I didn’t pay attention because I was busy assisting the mother with a newly born child! Lei, you are a savior omg. “Oh right hahaha, I forgot” Lei just give me a laugh combine with disbelief. “Allright, let’s go together Zia, I hope the news will be a raise, I really need that new phone!” She said with determination. “I hope so too, let’s go Lei!” We hurried our way on the said location of the urgent meeting, it was unusual for the hospital manager to summon all of us, not to mention it is an “urgent” matter. I have a veryy bad feeling about this. At the meeting “It seem that all of our doctors and nurses are here” said the manager, my eyes immediately search for Theo, and since I have a good eyesight when it comes to him, I immediately saw him beside Elize. Even in an urgent meeting she is obviously distracted to Theo. Well, nothing new, really. “I know that all of you here are tired and want to rest” yes we do. “So I am going straight to the point” This bad feeling from before. “There was an incident of m******e today especially in army force, no one knows who are really the culprit but many suspect it is a group of terrorist, I ask all of you to take overtime to aid the injured. Since there are only 3 hospitals in our city and ours is the most recommended, expect the incoming days will be busy more than 10 times as of today. All of you will have extra payment of coarse for taking over time, I hope you all understand, we are needed to the citizen of this city” My most hated word of all, over time. This is going to be very very very tiring. I feel like a small part of me wants to quit right now. But I don’t think I can do that, I can’t turn away my responsibilities as a nurse. There are People.. Who Need us and a family waiting for their return. I can hear the other nurses and doctors gossiping. I think it can’t be help. “All of you will get a day off just like the normal work days but the shifting schedules has change inorder to distribute properly and at the same time all of you gets a day off, Ill be pasting it on this wall. Please do look what Time is your work,this will apply tomorrow” “Also I have an urgent meeting in few minutes, so everyone, I will be counting in all of you, do your best tomorrow!” Said the hospital manager and bid us a farewell and leave. “Well, it is not really a raise but you get extra money for it. Lei” I jokingly said to Lei to raise her mood up. She just bitterly smile at me. “Let us look what time is our shift Zia, I hope I will get a night shift” Lei dragged me into the wall where the schedule is being posted. Hmmm let see. RN Schedules Lezia Chrysalis - 2pm to 12:30am Leislei Quinn Nadir- 9:00am to 7:30pm Asher Theodore Callisto- 12 pm to 10:30pm Elize Beatrice Caddel- 4am to 2:30 pm Shawn Francis- 10:30pm- 8am Many more.. I see we over time 2 and a half hour. Thank God we only share the same 30 mins shift with Elize. I really can’t stand her coocooness, (believe me what she did earlier was just a tip of the iceberg) and another good news is that we share 8 hours of the same shift with theodore, this isn’t so bad afterall! Hehehe. 2pm to 12:30 pm.. 2pm to 12:30 pm.. 2pm to 12:30 pm???! I AM ON A NIGHT SHIFT??? Oh no,I think I will need to buy a a lot of coffee. And oh, the reason why I become a nurse wasn’t entirely Theo. It is because, I spin a decision wheel what to take when I was in high school, and that is right.. It landed and chose nursing.
