" They have to give a few months or even years as the price for the witch to help them. And to find her, they have to travel through the hills of Savias, and pass through the lake of Kaaya, only then they will find her mansion, black walls, and brown interior." Theidta answered Mr.Pennyworth's question. He gave a firm nod and turned to the students. " Theidta is correct. You need to give time as a cost. Your time is what she wants. It is very dangerous to fool around with the witch. Never seek her help until you have no choice left." When he completed his sentence, Lyla raised her hand again, to which the teacher heaved a silent sigh but gave a nod for her to go on and ask the question." So, how many years did Theidta's parents lose?" Lyla asked." That's none of your…." " 6 months each." Theidta replied, interrupting their teacher. Another curious student raised her hand, and asked, " Why does she want time?" The teacher was glad that the student asked the question, which almost erased the tension that was building up in the classroom. Mr. Pennyworth heaved a slow sigh. " Because…. A witch always seeks beauty. So does Lasvias. Without time, she is just an old hag. She eats time in her breakfast, lunch, and dinner. That's how she is pretty and young. Forever. " The history teacher replied, to which several whispers were heard. " That makes quiet sense." Some whispered, and some whispered, " Poor Theidta." Others were silently staring at the wolfless girl, and the rest of the students were trying to ignore all of their classmates, and everything going on in the class. Christian and Era were busy glaring at the cause of the tension and Theidta's rotten mood and they didn't notice the person who appeared at the door and grinned at the classroom. He asked," Huh. No hugs?" Only then did all of the students look at the person standing at the doorway. Christian jumped from his seat and wrapped his arms around the person, while Era gaped at him. Theidta sideglanced at Era's reaction, and let out a chuckle. " Alpha!" Everyone shouted, and stood up from their seats. Lyla rolled her bangs with her forefinger and blinked her black eyelashes at the Pack's future Alpha. " Calm down, Class. Take your seats!" Mr. Pennyworth's voice boomed in the class, and the students took their seats silently while smiling at the Alpha. " Do you want to get detention, Mr.Delgado? AGAIN?" Mr. Pennyworth calmly asked the Beta. He unwrapped his arms, and said, " Sorry, Bro. Can't get another detention." Then he turned, tapped one foot, and saluted the history teacher. " Sir, No, sir." He shouted, looking out the window. " Just take your seat, Christian." The teacher said, rubbing his eyes with one hand, his glasses in the other. He heaved a sigh as he heard Christian's footsteps, and his voice, " Okay." The Beta said, with resignation. Mr. Pennyworth only lifted his head when the future Alpha greeted him. " Don't you want to hug me, uncle?" The future Alpha opened his arms and asked the teacher. " Why would I want to do that, Kenneth? You coming back, means I have one more troublesome kid to look after." The history teacher stared, his face already tired, thinking about the nuisance that the future Alpha is going to create. " Don't worry, Uncle. I have changed." Kenneth flashed his white teeth at his beloved uncle, who muttered, " We'll see about that." And gestured for the Alpha to take his seat. Kenneth saluted the teacher and walked straight towards Christian, beside whom a single empty seat was. Before taking the seat, he passed Christian, and patted Theidta's head, handing her a strawberry lollipop. Theidta grinned, and gave a flying kiss to him, which he dramatically caught and rubbed his hand on his face, to show her that he had all her kisses. Theidta let out a chuckle, and Kenneth took his seat. Era was seated just beside Kenneth. As soon as he took his seat, Era moved her chair as far away from the Alpha as she could, and ignored his presence. At least tried to. Kenneth stared at Era and was going to greet her but she put her head down on her folded hands. Kenneth heaved a sigh and looked back at the teacher for him to continue the class.
" Why is he here?" Era asked, as soon as she got a chance to ask the question. Theidta took a bite out of an apple and shrugged. " No one knows." She replied, chewing the small apple piece. Era kept glaring at the future Alpha, who looked over at her. Era turned her attention to her food. She munched on a baby carrot, as she groaned. " Now, I have to start ignoring him. AGAIN! It was so much better when he was far away." She cried. " Who was far away?" She heard the Alpha's voice right next to her and then felt him sitting beside her. Christian took a seat beside Theidta and stole a fry, which resulted in Theidta stealing all of his. Christian huffed and took a bite of the celery, which was stuffed with peanut butter. " No..no one. " Era stuttered as she picked up another baby carrot to take a bite but Kenneth was faster. He bit on the carrot, as Era gasped from the impact. His teeth grazed her fingers, which were holding the carrot. Kenneth gazed at her while she gaped at her empty hand, which was holding the baby carrot a while ago. Then she looked at the Alpha and glared at him. " You have something to tell me?" He asked, a smirk playing on his lips. Era gritted her teeth, was going to shout at him but decided against it. Instead, she exhaled through her nose, took her plate, and stood up. " I'm done." She said, and turned, not heeding Theidta's call. Theidta narrowed her eyes at the future Alpha, who shrugged and looked away. But his changed mood didn't go unnoticed by either Theidta or Christian.
" How have you been, sis?" Kenneth asked as they walked out of the school premises. "Not good. Without you." She pouted. Kenneth let out a chuckle and put his arm around her shoulder. " I am here now. And we are going to have lots of fun!" Theidta grinned. " Oh. You didn't get to open the time capsule with us! We didn't know you were coming. Else we would have waited." She said, slapping her forehead. " Aahh… That little box. Why don't we go now? Are you two free?" He asked his Beta and Theidta. " Yes, we are. Let's go!" She pointed in the direction of the pond.
" Wow! Do you always carry a shovel in your bag?" Kenneth raised his brow, a smile twitching at the corner of his lips. " Yes. She does." Theidta stated in the third person. " Tell her these are the symptoms of a murderer," Christian commented. " Shut up." Theidta snapped at the Beta and gave the tiny shovel to the Alpha to dig the box out. It took ten seconds for the Alpha to dig it out. He opened the lock and then opened the lid. Picking up the shovel, Theidta asked, " What do you have there?" " Just.. the medal which I got for the first time in fencing, the flower that I grew with my mother, our friendship contract that we made when we were little." The last thing made Christian, and Theidta laughs out loud along with their Alpha. " Ohhh, Do you remember that?" Theidta asked Kenneth, to which he nodded. " We made a pact. To never leave each other's side." The Alpha read the first line written on the small piece of paper. " The second was to give each other gifts on birthdays, and on every occasion that we celebrate without fail." Theidta read out the second point. " To always stand up against the wicked, together." Christian snickered as he read the third point out loud. " And to never be angry with each other for more than an hour." Three of them read out loud the last point in the contract. Kenneth heaved a slow sigh, as he remembered Era being angry at him for years. He thought that she would forgive him when he comes back after three years. But nothing changed. She is still mad about the mistakes that he did. And why shouldn't she? He didn't forgive himself yet. He felt someone's hand, patting his shoulder. " She will forgive you. Don't worry." His Beta comforted him. Theidta gave a firm nod. " I don't think so. I am glad that even you two are speaking with me." Kenneth stated. " We were kids back then, Ken. It's alright." Theidta waved her hand. Christian agreed with a nod. " It's not. It's not alright to her." The Alpha pointed out. " You have to make it up to her, Ken. " Christian said. " How?" Kenneth asked, to which he only got shrugs. Kenneth exhaled through his mouth, and that's when the letter caught his gaze. He picked it up and smiled. " Who did you write a letter for?" Theidta asked. " Era. Like Christian did…" Kenneth paused, and coughed as his Beta mind linked him to shut up. Theidta scrunched her brows. " Christian wrote a letter?" Kenneth gulped and stared at the Beta, who shrugged a shoulder and said, " Yes. To my crush. That's why I didn't let you two see what was inside the box." Theidta shook her head. " You had a crush, and we didn't know about that?" She asked. " I can keep secrets." He shrugged off. " Who is it?" Theidta asked. " No one! That was just childish of me. And I'm over her. Forget it." Christian abruptly said. Theidta rolled her eyes, and said, " Fine. Keep your secret with you." Then she side-glanced at the Alpha. " At least you are not someone who hides his time capsule." Theidta glared at the Beta and commented. Kenneth let out a chuckle, and said, " Come on. Let's go. We will be late for the meeting."
" Today, we are here to congratulate my son, the future Alpha, for graduating from the werewolf army school sooner than any of the students from the school did. Even I didn’t do this well.” Alpha Rollick announced to his pack members, which drew laughs from all of the members present in the meeting. This is what Theidta liked about the Alpha. While other Alpha’s can be broody, and conduct boring pack meetings, Alpha Rollick can turn everything around, and make it interesting enough for the youngsters to listen to. “Anyways, Please welcome my son, your future Alpha, Kenneth Loak, to the stage.” Claps burst throughout the room packed with people along with some whistles here and there. Kenneth grinned, waved, and jogged to the stage. Alpha Rollick put his arm around his son’s shoulder, and announced into the microphone, “ My son will be taking over after a year. So, before that, he has to train with me. Kenneth will be turning eighteen within five months, along with my best friend’s son, Christian. And another important fact about this meeting is to announce, that you will soon meet with your future Luna.” The last sentence took out a few gasps and whispers from the pack members. “Silence in the pack room, please.” Alpha Rollick’s soothing but powerful voice calmed his pack members down. Kenneth’s eyes were stuck on Era, who was avoiding eye contact with him. Theidta looked at Christian, who was looking back at her with wide eyes. “ What is happening?” Theidta whispered low. “ I don’t know. Dad didn’t tell me anything about it. And Kenneth didn’t tell me either.” They were interrupted by their Alpha. “ Ken was unable to find his luna, yet. But he is searching for her. Within five months, if he is unable to find his Luna, we will choose one for him. However, you all will meet with your future Luna on your future alpha’s birthday. Don’t you worry at all.” Alpha Rollick ended the meeting by letting everyone know there is food and drinks.
Kenneth walked straight to his friends but didn’t get the response he expected. They all were silent. Awkwardly looking at him, smiling a bit, and asking no questions. “ Come on. Hit me with your questions.” Kenneth wheezed. And then came waves of questions from both of his friends. “Why didn’t you tell me?” “ Who are you going to choose?” Christian and Theidta started bombarding their future Alpha with all the questions that were bothering them, one by one. “ Calm down, People!” Kenneth let out a chuckled and said. “ How can we calm down? You are supposed to find your Luna within five months. Five months, Ken!” Christian tugged at his hair, as the burden of searching for their luna gripped him tightly, and scraped his bones from inside his flesh. “ I already have found her, Christian. “ Kenneth said, which stopped Christian from pulling his hair out from his skull and stopped Theidta from pacing in the room. Both of them stopped in their tracks, and walked towards him, leaving no space at all for the future Alpha to breathe. Kenneth didn’t back away, and let his friends into his bubble of power. “ Who is it?” Theidta narrowed her eyes. When Kenneth tilted his head towards the right and stared at them with nothing on his face, Theidta gasped and backed away. “ No way!” Christian said and continued pulling at his hair. “We are doomed. We are so doomed.” The Future Beta cried out, still pulling at his hair, not caring about his dirty blonde hair being pulled out from their follicles.
