" Give it to us, Christian. Or else." Theidta warned him as they prowled towards the pro swimmer. " What are you going to do? You can't snatch this from me!" Christian narrowed his eyes at the girls. Theidta, and Era giggled, and pounced on him. Christian screamed, and his stomach ached from the howls. But Theidta, and Era were merciless. Within seconds, the swimmer was on the ground, clutching his stomach with one hand due to the pain, and the box with the other. He kept begging them to stop. But none of the girls listened. They tickled him to death, and were laughing hysterically. " Stop it!" Christian shouted again through the stomach pain due to constantly laughing. The girls didn't listen. So, he used his only weapon that he saved for the last. He didn't want to use it but he had no choice. " I said to stop!" Christian's Beta command shook the ground slightly, like a mini earthquake, for which the water in the pond started vibrating with full force, and small waves were created. Theidta, and Era froze to their place. Christian abruptly stood up, shaking away the brown leaves from his hair, and glaring at the girls at the same time. Theidta, and Era stood up as the pressure of the Beta command was slowly going away. The girls turned away from Christian, and Era whispered, " We are so not going to forgive him." Theidta gave a firm nod. " We'll use this as OUR weapon." Theidta huffed. Era agreed. Hiding their smiles, they silently walked to their boxes, and picked them up. " You go first." Era said to Theidta. With a nod, and a smile, Theidta opened the box, and a gasp came out of her mouth. She picked a small compass out of the box, and gazed at it. Her head tilted to the left as her eyes started to tear up." Is that.." Theidta gave a nod, which made Era heaved a sigh. " My father gave it to me when I was trying to figure out what I wanted to be when I grow up. He said that this compass will always find a way for me. It will always show me the path which I need to follow. It helped me a lot. That is why I've put it inside the box. " " Yeah. I remember when you were thrashing your room. " Era clicked her tongue. " You had so much wrath in you when you were a kid." She commented. " I know. That's why…" She put the compass in its place, and then picked out another object. " THIS is here." Theidta showed the small hand mirror to her best friend. Christian was standing away from the girls but his wolf vision, and hearing helped him see, and listen to her. Era gasped as she stared at the mirror with wide eyes. Her mouth agape. " No way! You kept it? " She asked. " How could I not? " Theidta let out a chuckle. " We used to play with this so much when we were little." Era took the mirror in her hand, and stared at her reflection. She tugged a stray hair strand behind her ear, and grinned. " Mom KNEW it would shut us up." Theidta stated as she stood behind Era, and stared at their reflection. Era sighed, and said, " It did shut us up for a week. At most." Theidta giggled. " I know! But she is a genius." Theidta stated, to which Era agreed. The next item in the box was a wrapper that she found on her first adventure. And the last item that she took out, surprised Christian more than his sister. " You… why did you keep that?" He asked, walking towards the girls. But they ignored him altogether. "It still has its shine." Era commented as she stared at the small ball of silver wire in Theidta's hand. " Do you remember the day when that arrogant, nuisance who is our futrure beta, unfortunately, gave you this?" The Beta's sister asked her best friend. "I'm right here. You know?" Christian heaved a sigh. " Yeah. How can I forget? He was not so arrognt and bossy when we were kids. " Era agreed with a nod. " He really cared for us. He knew only shiny things were able to stop me from crying." Theidta continued. " I care for you still." The arrogant, bossy Beta huffed.
Christian kept the box safely in the hidden small square space that was under his bed. He stared at it for a while. Then took the box out. Stared some more at it. Then finally, decided to open it. The lock clicked open, then he lifted the small lid. There was a small folded paper, a feather, a bottle opener, and a small familiar ball of silver wire. Picking up the small ball, he smiled. " You remember." He whispered.
The girls were still ignoring him the next day. The Beta went to school after a week. This was an advantage of being a Beta. Excuse for doing Beta duty, and training, and skipping school. None of the teachers or the principal would say anything to him. And Christian used the advantage. A lot. Even Mr. Pennyworth couldn't tell him anything. Once he did, and then was scolded by the Principal, getting the blame that he was interfering with the pack work, for which Christian wasn't proud of, and apologized to the teacher. The kids didn't hate the teacher even though he was sometimes strict, and gave the most hard exercises for punishment. Theidta called him Mr.Cory for a few weeks when she watched The Girl Meets World. But Mr. Pennyworth was not very fond of her given name. So, she had to stop it. Turns out that someone named Cory stole Mr.Pennyworth's girlfriend when they were in highschool, which was shocking to Theidta, and her friends. " Mr. Beta, will you enter the class? Or are you going to stand there and gossip with that cheerleader? The bell rang already." Mr.Pennyworth called out to Christian, who apologized to the cheerleader who was glued to him since she saw him entering the school premises. Christian walked into the class, silently mouthed a ' thank you' to their history teacher, who stood quietly as the students took their seats. The cheerleader huffed, and left them. Mr. Pennyworth clapped once to grab the students attention to the board, then took a chalk, and started writing on the board. Then turned towards the student, and asked, " Now, Do you know about the history of the witch? Can you please tell me the name? Anyone?" " What's a Lasvias?" Christian whispered. And at the same time, his sister, Era raised her hand to answer the teacher's question. " Teacher's pet." Christian snorted, to which he got a punch from Theidta. " Ow." He said, and kept quiet. Unfortunately, Mr. Pennyworth heard his comment, he dragged his eyes to ignore Era's raised hand, and look at the Pack's future Beta. " Do YOU know the witch's name, Future Beta?" He asked Christian, who gulped, and sai straight. " No, sir." He muttered. " I can't hear you. And please stand up. You are just a student when you are in my class, Mr.Beta. Or shall I call THE Beta?" Mr.Pennyworth raised a brow at the future Beta, who hurriedly stood up. " I don't know… the answer, sir." He stuttered. " Just as I expected." The teacher said, and looked towards Beta's sister. " Yes, Miss. Delgado? Please tell the class your answer." Era stood up, and answered, Lasvias is the witch's name." Mr. Pennyworth gave a firm nod, a smile taking place on his face ever so slowly. " Good job, Miss. Era. You can sit down." The teacher said. When Era was seated, be looked at the swimmer, and said, " You should take lessons from your little sister, Mr. Beta. Take a seat." Christian heard his sister giggle along with his best friend, and rest of the students but gave a nod, and took his seat. Era blew raspberry at her brother, to which he glared but was still seated silently. " So, Anyone knows anything else about Lasvias?" The teacher asked. Era raised her hand. " Except Era." Mr. Pennyworth pointed out. Lyla raised her hand to Mr. Pennyworth's surprise. But when she spoke, no one was surprised at all. Not even Theidta. " I know that the witch helped Theidta when she had fever." Lyla answered. " Not any ordinary fever, Lyla. She had Myositis, which resulted in high fever. Lasvias, the witch, cured the incurable disease for our Theidta. This shouldn't be taken as a joke. " The teacher stared at Lyla, who squirmed in her seat. Another student raised their hand to ask a question. " What's Myositis?" He asked. " It's a condition where you feel weak, have painful or aching muscles. This usually gets worse, slowly over time. You may also trip or fall a lot, and be very tired after walking or standing. This can not be cured. If Lasvias had not helped her, Theidta would have to suffer from it through the rest of her life. " Mr. Pennyworth replied to the student, and then looked at Theidta, and asked her with a stare. ' Are you alright?' He asked through the mind link. Theidta smiled, and gave a nod. ' Thank you, Mr.Cory.' Theidta thanked her teacher, letting out a chuckle. She let Era listen to the mind link,to which she giggled, covering her mouth. Mr. Pennyworth rolled his eyes, and got back to the class. " Do any one of you know where she lives? And what is the cost of her help?" The teacher asked. Theidta raised her hand. Because she, of all, knew what was the cost of the witch's help. She knew it very well. And she didn't like it at all. She wanted everyone in the class to know what the cost was. What was the REAL cost, which was not in the books. Because she didn't want anyone to go seek the witch, and pay the cost. Like her parents did.
