This is the fifth book in the Novak series, Fransiscus story.

I protected my sister and got six years in prison for my crime. They claim that there are two ways to go after you get out; pray for redemption or continue on the criminal path. The problem for me is that I'm neither really criminal nor intend to ask salvation for what I did. What I did, I did to protect my sister, and I would do it again if required of me. My big sister that I love was hurt, and I wasn't just going to stand by and watch. Now it's time to get released, and I wish someone prepared me for how hated by the community I would become. In the end, though, it doesn't matter because I'm a protector.
