Victoria and Elena sob for a while before they went to the sitting room where others are. Victoria broke the news to the other children and Jordan flared up.

“This is not happening, not while I'm alive. I am not gonna sit back and watch that old cargo get married to my sister. It's not gonna work.”

He then sat facing Elena”You are not getting married to Senator Dan, hell no!” He yelled.

“Shut up! Victoria roared, Ever since the death of your father, you being the first child and son, what have you brought to the table? Me and your sister have been the ones working our ass out to put food on the table. What have you been doing? Nothing! All you do is sit at home and sleep. Now you want to give orders, to who exactly?”

“You are supposed to set a good example to your siblings as the first child by being reliable and hardworking.”

“Truly your dad has been the one providing for all our needs. But now that the table had turned, you have to get up on your feet and work like the man that you are”

“It's really hard for Elena to make that kind of decision. But what can we do? She had to risk her happiness and future for us to live fine. Please Jordan, watch your mouth over there and also be at your best behavior since you cannot do anything to assist us.”

Victoria is now facing Elena “ Elena my dear, I know this is hard for you, thank you for choosing us first. At least now, your brothers can go back to school . Also there are things I need to enlighten you about so that you can be at your best behavior when you get married to Senator, what you should do and what not to do”.

Deep down, Elena was so happy that her family will finally let her get married to the Senator that she cannot contain the happiness in her. At least, she can have the soft life she had dreamed of, she is also gonna be the talk of the town.

More importantly, to even think that she's gonna be the Senator's one and only lover and last wife is so mind-blowing. “ Am gonna be the controller now, am gonna be in charge. Oh my goodness! The number of the domestic staff i am gonna get! wow! just wow!!. What about the latest cars and the gigantic mansion? This is what they call peace of mind!! yea!! she is excitedly lost in thought

“Shopping! Elena thought again and grinned in her mind. I will always go shopping everyday and am not gonna be tired! Why will I even be tired when I will be swimming in a pool of money! yea! also I'm not gonna repeat clothes again, no more washing of clothes and all.. this is the definition of soft life.”

“Wait! The latest iPhone in town is what I am gonna get. Ya! the ones the big girls use now”. Elena cannot stop dreaming of the new life she's getting into.

She had stopped going to work as she already knew that the gas station belonged to Senator Dan and she couldn't stoop so low to continue working there. After all, she is the new madam. Also she needs to put an end to the behavior of her manager before he implicates himself or his intentions gets to the Senator.

Elena knows quite well that Senator Dan will not take it easy with anyone trying to steal her mind from him. Speaking of that, she immediately remembered Tony again. “ What am I going to do with Tony? I really do not want to hurt his feelings again knowing fully well the number of heartbreaks he went through from the so called uncle's. He might not be able to withstand this, probably break or kill him for life”.

Elena became so worried about Tony that she started thinking of what to do to make him happy again.” I can fund his trip to another country and also assist with some money to start a new life afresh…, or better still sponsor his music career! Oh my god! Tony! I am so sorry for hurting you again and bringing this up on us, I really am!! We cannot continue like this, we are gonna die of hunger one day. You could barely feed yourself, you cannot even afford feeding yourself talk more of feeding another mouth”.

“Oh Tony! my love for you is so strong, that I don't think I can do without you, baby. You are all I have, you are the one I have known and want to spend the rest of my life with, as we always promise ourselves. Only you know when I am happy or sad. You are the cure to all my illnesses, the medicine to my sicknesses. Your presence brings joy to my heart. I am sorry for disappointing you, I am deeply sorry for failing you again. I am a bad person, I know and I promise to make it up to you when I have what it takes”, She said to herself hartley.

“You are a good person, Tony and I am sure you will find a better person to love and care for you. Someone who will love you unconditionally… I just have to choose this better life for myself and my family. And I am sure you will be proud of me later”, Elena cried bitterly as she was saying all this to herself.”

At a point Elena thought of backing off by not getting married to Senator Dan but then she thought about all the sufferings they had gone through and not ready to go back. “Now is the time to take a decision and stand on it and not go back.” she said to herself.

Elena asked her mother on the next step to take now that they have finally made a decision. They agreed on sending someone, probably the lawyer,to the Senator,informing him about their decision. Elena didn't even know how to react or behave at home, she didn't even know whether to be happy or be sad with her new coming life and partner.

One moment she will feel happy, another moment she will feel bad.

Victoria understands how her daughter feels and can't help but feel pity for her. She walked up to Elena's room and found her laying on her bed, eyes opened widely and in thought. She knew exactly what her daughter was thinking about.

“Are you okay sweetheart?” Victoria asked with more concern.

Elena jolted back to life, she didn't even know when her mother walked into her room.

“Am I even doing the right thing? Am I on the right track mom? Will I be able to handle this coming life, I don't even know what is waiting for me. I don't know what the future holds for me”, she lamented heavily to her mother.

“I think I should ask someone who has been in this shoe to tell me how the journey is gonna be and what it's gonna look like.” Elena said cluelessly.

“You just have to calm yourself down Elena so that you can be able to think straight. My baby! Getting married to someone you barely know is something one has to be prepared for. Getting married to someone with other women is like going to a warfront”.

Victoria moved closer to her, looked straight into her eyes and held her hands,” Elena! All you have to do when you have finally moved to your new house is patience. You might say that after all you aren't living together with your co wives, right?. I know you are going to live in your big mansion alone as a wife, but even at that you still have to thread carefully. No one is happy when they have competitors, especially when the person is better than them. I mean you are better because you hold the key to your husband's heart”, Victoria spoke with concern.

“I want you to always remember that because you are your husband's favorite, it also means you are going to be hated by many of your husband's wives. I am saying all this to you today from experience and also as an African mother that I am. They will always look for your trouble, they will come for your peace of mind”.

“Some of them will even pray that you fall I'll or worse. Elena, my daughter, I want you to promise me that no matter what happens, you will choose a prayer life and you will be strong for us at all times. And we will also assist you in prayers always, my darling daughter”. Victoria said and bursted out crying.

Jordan isn't okay with the fact that his sister is still getting married to that old and good for nothing man but he had nothing to say or do.

“I must do something as soon as possible. No! No!! Elena isn't getting married to that man! No, it's not gonna work!” Jordan brags and says to himself.
