The weekend had passed by in a blur and the couple had rarely left their bed except for emergencies and even then, it was mostly Zion doing the walking. Now the weekend was over and Freya was curled up sleeping as they drove back to her house.
Zion did not think that the weekend could have gone any better. It was the most satisfying time he had ever had. Nothing could have broken it, at least for now. Until then Zion just hummed happily and snuck glances at the girl who had won over his heart.
Upon arriving at her house, Freya whined as she did not want to leave Zion's presence. The two had just taken a big step in their relationship and Freya still felt very fragile about it. Not to say she regretted it at all or that she feared he would leave her but things happen and she didn't want to have to worry. Zion walked her to the door and reluctantly pried himself away so he could leave.
Since Freya had gone out so much recently that her parents decided that she needed to stay home and focus on her school work. Which, before Zion, was what she would normally do regardless but now that she had a taste of fun in her life, she craved more of it. The days passed by slowly. Freya, when not in the presence of Zion, was always pouting and almost bratty. Zion was similar but not so much bratty and more so ruthless when it came to working, especially when it came to bad news and there had been too much of it.
Someone from Zion's company had been stealing from him recently and he had not been taking it very lightly. Now a full blown investigation was happening and Zion was ready to tear all his employees apart. Not knowing who was trying to bring him down was killing him.
On top of that, he hadn't seen Freya for a while because her parents said she needed to refocus on her studies. Especially with her trip coming up. He almost regretted agreeing to pay for Freya's trip, not because of the money or anything like that but because it meant less time he got spend with her yet again.
