Acacia’s POV With me permanently on the bad side of Davis, I've been practicing talking to my wolf, hoping I'll get to attend another training. My wolf had been quiet since the outburst on the dining table. I decided to nudge her and she responded. “What else do you think we can do?” I asked her. She shrugged. “Seduce him maybe.” “Over my dead body,” I responded. Not because David wasn't good-looking enough but because we stayed in the same place. How were we supposed to look at ourselves afterward? Would it become like a routine for us to have s*x? What if his parents and his sister find out? Those questions kept running through my mind. Moreover, Felicia mentioned a thing about a punishment if you had s*x with someone you are not mated to in this pack. I didn't know if it applied to me because I'm not a member of their pack, but if I intended to stay here for longer then I would have to respect their rules. Also, I didn't know if he was attracted to me in any way, I didn't want to make a fool of myself. With the way he suspects me, he can accuse me of trying to know his weak point or say anything for his parents to throw me out. I needed to tread carefully when it came to him. I took the envelopes from earlier and proceeded to his room. I knocked and waited patiently for his response. “Come in.” I heard him say faintly. I opened the door and was almost deafened by the loud music he was playing. The sound proof system he had on made it hard to know he was playing something this loud in the house. “What are you doing here?” He asked me, reducing his music so that he could attend to me. “I came to return these,” I answered curtly. He looked at me for a moment before stepping forward to collect the envelopes from me. “Wait.” He said when I turned to go back. I slowly turned around to hear what he had to say. Hopefully, he will tell me he has forgiven me or something along those lines. “I need to count it and ensure it is complete before you step out.” He said and ordered me to stand by. I rolled my eyes and watched him count every penny. Once he was convinced it was complete, he signaled for me to leave. “Never show up in this room again unless it is night.” He warned before banging the door behind me. I was glad that he didn't stop me from sleeping in his room at least. It would have been brutal having to sleep on the couch. I figured it must be because his parents had committed him to do so and that was why he hasn't shut me out of his room forever. I went back to Felicia's room, she still had not shown up since we ate breakfast. She had excused herself to see a friend. I nudged my wolf. She seemed tired of me this time and was slowly drifting apart. I was afraid I would lose her. I didn't know what to do, I tried to practice what I learnt that day all over again but it wasn't working. I started to pace up and down the room, without a single idea of what to do or where I had gone wrong. I tried to lay my head and rest but a lot of things were running through my mind, Alpha Ulfred, Davis and now I can't reach my wolf. I suddenly started to have migraines. “Hey, what's up?” I heard Felicia say as she walked into the room. “I think I caught a migraine,” I stated. “Oh, your wolf should work that out for you.” She stated. “How? What do you mean?” I asked her. “You will heal in no time, just connect to your wolf.” She stated. “No wonder,” I muttered, I remembered when Alpha Ulfred stopped my healing process. It was because I didn't have a wolf. “What?” Felicia asked me. “Hmm, I have been finding it difficult to connect with her since after breakfast,” I told her. “How long have y'all been communicating?” She asked me. “Just recently, I overheard the invalid's instructor teaching them how to communicate with their wolf and I've been doing it since then,” I explained. “Oh, that explains it.” She stated. “You need to take the second round of training to learn how to keep in touch with it anytime.” She added. “But now I can't, Davis won't let me take a class.” I reminded her. “You shouldn't have even started at all. It gets worse.” She told me, looking at me pitifully. “But like I said, I can teach you.” She added. “I'll think about it,” I replied. “You went to see those guys?” I asked her. I didn't know why I asked but those were the only friends I had seen her with. “No, my best friend.” She said, pointing to a picture on her wall. I was surprised I had not noticed it, it was not so big compared to the pictures of animals she had all over. “Wow. She's cute.” I stated, not knowing what other compliment to give. The lady was beautiful. She had wavy long hair, a very cute nose, and Hazel pair of eyes. I sat lost in thoughts again, thinking of Davis and how bad the whole situation had gotten. “You're still thinking about Davis?” Felicia asked me. “Can you read my mind or something?” I asked her. Surprised that she always knew what was in my mind most of the time. She laughed for a while. “I'm just good at taking wild guesses but yours is somewhat obvious.” She answered. “You'll be fine when you finally settle with the fact that you cannot do anything to change Davis' decision.” She added. “I refuse to believe that,” I told her. “Well, my offer still stands. I could teach you for free. Whenever you're ready.” She stated. “Yeah, no. Until I've exhausted all my options.” I replied. “Good luck with that. I'm going out to see the boys now,” she told me. “You just came in,” I argued. “Nothing is interesting to do here.” She stated before rushing out. I sighed, shaking my head. I was back alone in the house with nothing to do. I decided to go help her clean up some places we had not cleaned. It would save me from getting woken up so early in the morning for chores. I picked out the necessary tools, broom, brush, soap, and bucket, and set out to the stable. I admired the horses as soon as I got to them, hopefully, they recognized me this time. I touched the former one that was avoiding me the other time and it didn't react the same. “Good girl,” I told her. I started with her, washing her and cleaning her up, and as soon as I was done, I moved to the other horses and did the same. The stable was in a mess so I made sure to rearrange it and refill their food supply. Once I was satisfied with what I had done, I visited the cows and did the same. I made sure to fill any listening cows about the details of my life but unfortunately, none of them could provide a solution to my issue with Davis. They couldn't even speak. I sighed and decided to take another tour of the second farm and environs. The second farm was at the back of the house and had more plants than the front yard. I made sure to groom each section and water them. I stood up and looked at what I had done so far and I was impressed. I knew Felicia would be impressed too. I had saved us another two days of farm chores. I contemplated going to make us dinner and get that off the plate too. But I wasn't too much of a cook and I didn't want to spoil or waste any food. I decided to just stay at the farm and receive fresh air. As soon as I was done, I washed my hands in the nearby tap and started to walk into the compound. I decided to pass the back instead of the front door. I noticed Davis' window was open, so I was tempted to look through it and see what he was doing. Maybe if I had an idea of his daily activities, I would be able to come up with better ideas on how to be on his good side. I took a large stone and placed it on the floor as I was not tall enough. I silently peeped in and what I saw caught me off guard. A lady was on top of Davis riding him. Both of them had their eyes closed and mouths open, it seemed like she was moaning loudly but I couldn't hear it due to the soundproof system Her face turned and I could recognize it. That was the lady in the picture that Felicia showed me. Her best friend. I gasped aloud, causing Davis to look in my direction and our eyes came in contact with one another. I stood there frozen at the spot.
