CHAPTER 2 - Fight me

1465 Words
Simone POV I looked at my reflection in the mirror. I wore a crimson red dress for tonight since my dad said it was a charm for good luck to wear red on a special occasion. Cecilia helped me to brush my natural dark brown hair. I leave it just the way it is since I have natural curls. My hair was one part of my body that I was proud of. Cecilia is my personal maid and had worked for my family since she was ten. She was almost the same age as me, and I already think of her as my own sister. “Why you looked so sad? This should be a special night for you, Simone.” She said to my reflection in the mirror. She must’ve been noticing that I wasn’t delighted about this arrangement. “I don’t know, Cecilia. Ever since I was little, I’ve always dreamt about marrying my mate someday and not this kind of arranged marriage with some unknown Alpha.” I told her with a sad tone. “Hey, how did you know that Alpha Marcus is not your mate? You never met him anyway. Maybe fate brought you together all of a sudden. I heard he was very good looking” She started to get dreamy, picturing him on the back of her mind. I have other important things to consider other than his appearance. How if he was some kind of abusive man?     “Done... Alpha Marcus must be fallen for you at first sight. You looked really stunning tonight, Simone.” She said after she finished brushing a thin layer of powder on my nose. I looked at my reflection in the mirror, checking on my makeup for the last time. I wasn’t looking so bad tonight. Just so, I thought to myself. The color of the dress lightens up my pale skin color. I never thought that I would get engaged this early and with some stranger. “Come on, the party will start in ten minutes. You don’t want to make him wait.” Cecilia then dragged me out of the room excitedly. I was sitting on my father’s left side at the party, and my two brothers were on the right side. The party started with a dance and music performance. I shook my legs in nervousness, “Are you so eager to meet your husband, Simone? He’ll be coming soon. I’m sure you’ll like him.” Dad whispered to me as he put one hand on my legs so that I would stop shaking. His words make me even more nervous. I don’t think I can do this. God! I really need a drink right now. I grabbed the glass in front of me and drank a full glass of wine in one gulp. Just before I could put the glass back to my table, the door suddenly burst open in a loud thud noise. Turning all head towards the source of the sound. And there he is, the so-called Alpha. Making his grand entrance gracefully. His walking was steady and powerful at the same time. As soon as he entered the room, his eyes soared like an eagle searching for its prey. My heart stopped beating as our eyes finally met. Who could’ve survived under that intense stare? He smirked at me, making my poor heart now beating twice the time faster than it normally would. I could hear a few female wolves in our pack gasping upon his dashing appearance. “It’s an honor to be welcome here in your pack, Alpha Alex.” He greeted dad and bowed down in front of us. His voice was deep and alluring at the same time. Dad smiled and walked towards him, pulling me along with him. Wait?! I wasn’t prepared to meet him yet! I wanted to scream for help right now. “We’ve been waiting for you, Alpha Marcus. This is my daughter, Simone.” Dad is pushing me so that I was standing right in front of him. After seeing him closely, I felt as if he could swallow me alive. For God’s sake, Simone! You were the most formidable warrior in your pack. How could you be so weak only because of his gaze? “Pleasure to meet you, Luna.” That ridiculously handsome Alpha suddenly took one of my hands without warning and kissed the back of my palm. I felt a slight tingle as his light stubble on his jaw grazing my skin. How dare he called me his luna? Since when I agreed to be his mate? His deep blue eyes won’t leave mine. I quickly retracted my hand back. He was wrong if he thinks that he can own me that easily. An idea suddenly popped into my mind. “I have one condition for you regarding this engagement, Alpha Marcus.” I suddenly exclaimed. My dad turned his head towards me, giving me a warning look. “What do you think you’re doing, Simone? Apologize right away.” Dad whispered. It seems like I just push his button. “If you want to be the Alpha of this pack, you have to fight me first. Only if you can win against me, I will accept you as my mate.” I declared my condition. Dad is now throwing me a deadly glare. “Don’t be ridiculous, Simone! That’s an insult.” Dad roared in anger. Alpha Marcus looked at me and smiled in amusement, “Challenge accepted.” He then opens his coat and throws it away. Completely unaware that he just displays his sexy, sculpted body to all hungry women’s eyes there. Wearing such a tight shirt, you don’t need any imagination. His eyes were turned into a darker shade. In a swift movement, he changed himself into his wolf form. His fur was all black, the total opposite of mine, which is all white.    I then shifted into my wolf form as well. I ran outside of the house because I don’t want to create a mess inside the house. He followed me from behind as I ran towards the forest. After I found a perfect spot in the middle of the forest, I turned around. Ready to face him. He attacks me first, and I almost got bit by him if I was late by a second. He was fast! I took a chance while he wasn’t paying attention to bit his neck. He was howling in pain. I was about to attack him again when he jumped at me and pinning me under him. I found myself wasn’t able to move under him since he was so strong. I switch back to my human form, and he soon followed after me. That vicious wolf now had turned back into this irresistible man. His body was on top of me, giving me enough pressure just to secure me under him. “You’re a feisty little one, aren’t you?” he teased me. I can see blood on his neck from my attack earlier. “You lose this time.” He claimed his victory proudly in front of my face. “Hey, it wasn’t a fair fight! You were way bigger than me. You used your body to lock my every move.” I complained as I tried to wriggle free from him. But he secures both of my hands at the top of my head with his iron grip. What is he doing right now? I found this position a little bit weird but exciting at the same time. He chuckled at my words, “I don’t need to play fair… I want to marry you, and I always get what I want, Simone Johnson.” he whispered dangerously as he rubbed the tip of his nose on my neck. His voice was intoxicating. I found myself at the loss of words in this close proximity. “Still, I won’t marry you! And I’m not losing in this fight against you! I objected! ” I talked back to him. He burst out laughing, then his expression turned back to serious. “How if I can offer something to you that you might like?” He proposed. “And what would that be?” I challenged him back, “Something like this…”  he then pressed his lips on mine. Oh my!
