Kai walked behind Elysia as they left the hospital after the gynaecology session.
"Three..."
Elysia suddenly stopped walking.
She slowly turned around to face him, her eyes already glassy with tears as she raised three trembling fingers into the air.
"I'm having three babies, Kai."
Her voice cracked before the last word left her lips.
She stared at him for another second as if she was hoping he'd somehow tell her Doctor Esme had made a mistake.
Then she turned around and continued walking towards the car before he could even think of a response.
Kai remained where he was for a brief moment.
He honestly didn't know what to say.
The mood inside the examination room had changed so quickly that he was still trying to process everything himself.
