Chapter 4The door chime made Alex glance at the clock. Late, almost midnight. Who the hell would call at this hour? The chime sounded again, and he put aside the papers he was studying and went to open the door. “Sean?” He stared. It was Sean, in the same clothes he’d worn at the mine earlier, looking rumpled and rather flushed. “Alex. Need to come in.” “What?” Alex moved to block the doorway. “Don’t be ridiculous. You can’t come in here.” “Don’t want me to make a big scene out here in the hall, do you?” No, Alex did not. The local media would love it.
