The Brat and the Helper

Star wears her tights and vest, and runs out of her house which is 2 kilometres away from downtown. She's a city girl, and she's proud of that. But, being a famous athlete and being a city girl is tough, and she has to choose one. So, she chose her career and decided that it's best to not be at the heart of the thrill of the city, and rather be in the sidelines, watching from afar. She couldn't possibly rent out those ridiculously expensive apartments there! She has the bank balance to do so, considering that she ran from a very young age, but she'd never. That's wasting money, she thought. Level Up by Ciara booms through her earpods, and the beat sends an electrifying feel to her body that pushes her to run faster, harder, more...  "Star, baby, when are you coming back home? I need to see you and talk to you?” Her mothers’ deep voice, which she inherited, booms through the speaker and she flinches at how loud it is. After reducing the volume, she takes a seat at a park bench and responds to the lingering question.  "But, honey, I need to see you now!" The sudden rush she gets from her mother's voice stuns her. What was so serious that she was needed home immediately?  "Okay, Mom. I'll come over tomorrow. I need to go to an interview this afternoon, and I'm currently taking a run, so I'll call you later to confirm my arrival." Without waiting for a response, she cuts the call and runs back to her house. It's nothing over the top. It's a small cottage outside the city, and is surrounded by only twelve houses. That's how small this neighbourhood was. She used a dark green colour outside as it is warm, and the house is surrounded by tall, green trees and flowers tangled to the ground. After locking her gate, she notices a strange car and only one person has access to her home—  "Star! Finally, you're back! We need to make you look fa-bu-lous!!" Her manager, Louis, says and flashes his crooked smile. She met Louis in a bar, whilst she was going through a very dark time, and they hit it off. She found out that he had no job, and he was good in these things, so she gave him this job. They've been friends for five years and counting.  "What's with the cool ride?" Star opens the fridge and sees that her chilli fries are missing, and judging by the smudge on Louis's left cheek, he is the reason why they're missing, but she doesn't pound on it. She takes her key ingredients into making a perfect protein shake and takes a glass . "It's Toms’. He borrowed me it. Isn't it lovely?"  "It is. But, what happened with Lunga?" Lunga was his boyfriend for three years. Three years of toxicity, lies and deceit. Their relationship was somehow cute, but deadly. Star wouldn't wish the relationship they had upon anyone, not even her sworn enemy.  "I finally decided to let go of Lunga. I mean, Katy has told me this for many years, but I didn't listen. But, three weeks ago I found him in bed with a guy and a girl, and that's when my heart finally accepted that he didn't love me, that I had to let go." He almost didn't let go, Star thought but she only gave her friend a warm smile. She was happy that he finally let go, and he was in his road to recovery.
