Part I
HOW TO MAKE A GOOD FIRST IMPRESSION:
We all know that first impressions usually last, so follow these pointers to make everyone's first thoughts of you the best they can be.
• Remember to introduce yourself and ask the other person's name.
• Look the other in the eye, smile, and remember to speak clearly.
• Pay attention to what the other person is saying
• Ask questions about his or her interests and hobbies.
• Just be yourself.
HOW TO TAKE A COMPLIMENT:
There's nothing like receiving dozens of compliments to build up your confidence, even if you blush with embarrassment at first. It's a good idea to use these tips the next time a friend says something nice about you.
• DO smile and don't ever forget to say "thank you."
• DO be modest.
• DO compliment your friend in return.
• DON'T frown, mumble, or look at the floor.
• DON'T just say "I know."
• DON'T disagree.
HOW TO HAVE THE BEST MANNERS:
Use these helpful hints to have the best manners.
• No matter how hungry you are, it's still rude to cut the lunch line. As a general rule, there should be plenty of food to go around, so there's no rush.
• Losing can be difficult, but try not to sulk if you don't win every time. It can be just as hard not to be a gloating winner. Always remember to congratulate everyone else for playing well.
• Although it's tempting to jump right onto the bus or train, other travelers will appreciate it if you let them get off first.
• If you're trying to win an argument, you're much more likely to get positive results with cool reason rather than a hot temper.
• If a friend or relative is nice enough to give you a present, it's good idea to have a polite response ready even if you don't like the gift. Say things like "Oh, I love it!," "I couldn't have thought of something so original," and send a note as well.
If you can manage all of that, you are definitely a glamorous person!.
