Jealousy

1001 Words
Michael walked into the pub Orion had mentioned he was in. The lights were low and beaming with different colours, the waft of alcohol hit Michael's senses and the dance floor was occupied with bodies swarming, dancing on the beat of an unknown song. Michael's eyes swept across the room, searching and observing. He first located all the doors and the possible exits that they could use in time of need. They only had to get back to the hotel they were staying at. It was the safest place for now. Michael knew that the hotel was just a few blocks away, but he had noticed a small alleyway behind a lateral poster that was blocking it. He wasn't sure as to who would be there at this hour that he had a vague idea of things that he could encounter if he ever had to use that alleyway. He wasn't as sure as to where Orion was. He just hoped that he was alive and not drunk. Michael took a seat at the bar stool. It was crowded so he waited for the bartender to attend to him. "So, what do you want today?" he turned around. The bartender was cute, brownish hair, doe eyes and a sweet smile. Michael smiled at him. "Just a beer please." The man pouted a little while getting him a bottle. Michael smiled at the small gesture he pulled when the guy was concentrating on making a mocktail. Michael spun around in his seat, took a small swig of his beer, letting the bitterness relent his taste buds. He hadn't spotted Orion yet. Maybe he wasn't here, Michael thought. But Orion wouldn't lie to him. Especially when it concerned his safety. Michael peered into the swarming bodies. There he was. Orion, drunk and dancing. Michael suspected he was drunk. Their eyes met and Orion paused for a little while. Michael couldn't make out his state but he expected the worse. Michael watched as the lights shined on the dance floor. The sudden illumination gave Michael a good chance to assess Orion. His cheeks were flushed and his eyes dazed. Michael watched as Orion blinked and then a pair of hands appeared on his waist. Michael took a deep breath. He then spotted the blonde bob. He watched as those hands looped low on Orion's waist. Orion was swaying on the beat. His eyes were on Michael. The hands were now on Orion's chest. They disappeared and then a short girl appeared in front of Orion. He never broke eye contact with Michael, his hands were clasping the girl's waist as they swayed to the beat. Michael took a deep breath. He then leaned back and smirked. Michael slowly put the bottle's mouth to his lips and tipped the bottle, taking a generous sip. If Orion wanted to put on a show, Michael wanted to watch it. The song slowed a beat and Michael could swear he saw Orion smirk at him and he saw Orion bring the girl closer. Michael felt like his soul was on fire as he saw Orion's head dip and he whispered something in the girl's ear, causing her to giggle and loop her hands around his neck. Michael's grip on his beer bottle tightened as he took a long swig. He decided that he would let Orion play out a little more until he would pop in and take him away for a little discipline. Michael would definitely bend him over his knee and teach him a nice lesson. He sighed and turned in his chair, slumping on the bar. "Why so glum?" The bartender appeared in front of Michael. Michael looked up and was almost surprised by his expression. The boy genuinely looked curious, blinking at him with doe eyes. Michael straightened and smiled. "Nothing really." The boy looked behind Michael's shoulder. "Oof, I'm getting a death glare" Michael looked over his shoulder and found Orion staring at him and the bartender. Michael turned to the guy. "Ignore him." He said flatly. The guy pouted and shook his head. "Let's punish him." He said to Michael, with a weird gleam in his eyes. Michael pondered over the thought and smiled. "What do you have in mind?" Michael asked. The guy just smiled and looked over at the dance floor. He winked and mouthed something at Orion. He then leaned in close to Michael's ear, "He looks like he could kill." Then Michael felt a soft peck on his cheek. The guy looked at Michael and smiled brightly and chirped, "Go get him, brother dearest!" Michael smiled and reached over to ruffle the guy's hair. "Thank you, little bunny." The guy smiled and then scurried off. Michael turned in his seat to find Orion standing still in the middle of the dance floor. He smiled at Orion, who looked like he could kill. Michael wanted to play this out for a little more while. This time it was Orion who was being played. Michael felt a presence behind him and he inwardly laughed. It was him again. He felt his arms encircle Michael's shoulder and then he replaced the beer bottle in Michael's hand, not leaving before pecking his cheek. In reality, the guy's lips had barely touched Michael. He was sure that he was enjoying this game more than Michael and Orion. Michael giggled at the happy squeal behind him. Orion stalked towards Michael like an angry wold tracking down its prey. Michael felt a shiver run through his spine and his heart fluttered. Orion came close to Michael, glaring at the back over his shoulder. His hand slid up from Michael's thigh to the nape of his neck. Orion's hand grabbed Michael's shirt and tugged. Orion dragged Michael to the middle of the dance floor. they were in the middle of the floor now, Orion threw his arms around Michael's shoulder and they started swaying to the beat. Michael's hands found Orion's waist and he pulled him closer.
