They slowly reached the garden's end. It was surrounded by tall trees so it was on their benefit. The fence was the lowest but It indeed was a high fence, surely they could jump over it. Michael was now hoping for the best.
Michael looked at the 7ft tall fence and then back at Orion. He was smiling at Michael, while checking the bars. thankfully there were some designs on the fence that could help them. Orion gripped the bars and pulled himself up. Michael watched as he gracefully grabbed all the right placed and climbed over the fence, and down to the other side. Michael was too stunned and then Orion reached and booped his nose. "Come on" Orion whispered.
Michael nodded and with the most effort his body could commence, a few breaks and almost getting impaled by spikes, Michael too jumped over the fence. He was a little out of breath and a lot out of shape. "Do you need a minute?" Orion asked him. Michael gave him a look that was enough to scare his three generations. Orion genuinely looked terrified. Michael smiled as if nothing had happened, as he straightened "Don't dare rub it in" Orion nodded even though Michael somewhere knew that he wasn't rubbing it in but he was actually really worried about him. They slowly started heading towards the forest west to the estate. As they were trying to avoid any roads or any cameras they chose the darkest side of the forest.
Unfortunately they had nothing with them except for clothes and the slippers that the butler provided for them. Trying not to make too much noise they moved through the woods. They had no idea where they were going, hell He'd be damned if they we're going in a circle. There were a lot of brazen mosquitoes which were irritating Michael every second as one of them bit him in all different places. Michael was tired but at least he was well fed. However he was starting to feel hungry again, maybe the death defying jump had gotten to him. He sighed exasperatedly.
They were still walking in, without any destination in mind. Michael was holding on to the end of Orion's shirt. He wanted to be close to him and not get lost. He once had let go accidentally but Orion had took his hand and made him hold it again. Michael had felt butterflies on that gesture. Michael felt like this lack of rest was making him a complaint box. He had not heard a word from Orion, he was pretty impressed by the patience that man held. He didn't know how he had actually gone through with this without him.
"Orion, We're not going in a circle are we? I think I saw this stone before" Orion halted and turned around, pulling Michael in to him. Michael wrapped his arms around him tightly. He had missed this same warmth. He felt like he could exist in this same embrace for forever and ever. Or maybe He was just really tired and he wanted sleep... Orion was soft. "I'm sure we'll get you into a bed pretty soon, Also Thank you." Michael felt weird. Had he said that out loud? No idea. He was feeling very euphoric in Orion's warm embrace.
Orion suddenly pulled apart and took Michael's hand and started running. Michael didn't say anything but complied. Then Michael understood why they were running. They spotted a faint light in the distance and a fear crept into Michael's heart. Orion held Michael's hand and pulled him behind a tree. They slowly and carefully neared the light, and they came upon a faint shape of a small shed. Maybe it was a Garage. When they were sure that there wasn't anyone in the garage they slowly backed up to one of the walls of the shed. Orion leaned in and tried to listen if there was anyone in the garage itself.
Orion looked at Michael and shook his head. They had nothing on them if they were accidentally attacked, however Michael wished he at least had his knife on him. He reached for Orion's shirt and held on to it.
Orion leaned in and placed a soft kiss on Michael's forehead. He knelt and peered inside the shack through a small crack. He got up and slowly walked towards the door. Softly knocking on it, he waited. Michael was sure that atleast they would be able to get out of this forest soon and if not they could at least sleep and recover from the last few nights. Orion waited for a few more minutes and then slowly turned the knob. He opened the door and then peered inside, He went in and then popped out and then signalled to Michael.
"Whoa" Michael heard Orion exclaim loudly and Michael rushed in, "What happened?" Michael could see Orion slightly amused. He just pointed in the corner of the shed. Michael turned to see what it was. "Is that what I think it is?" Michael turned to Orion and he just nodded. Orion started chuckling and Michael just smiled at him. There in the corner of the shed was the most hopeful thing they could have encountered tonight. There were two segways, kept in the corner of the shed, Michael sighed and then leaned against Orion, wrapping his arms around him, "That looks Fun."
Orion laughed out loud and then held Michael close, After a few moments he let him go and then went to check the battery of the segways. He turned around and started jumping, "What?" Michael asked. Orion came over to Michael and hugged him hard. "Let's leave!" He repeated over and over again. He then let Michael know that the batteries in the segways were full and they could last a good while, especially until they reached a road and could flag down a mode of transport to go back into the city. They though that they would use them in time periods so then they could save the batteries and have it last longer until they reached a safer place.
Michael had agreed to everything that Orion had said because it seemed the most feasible option for the time being. Michael and Orion had searched the whole shed and had come up with nothing but junk, then Michael's gaze fell onto something that was shining under some leaves. He bend down and removed the leaves and to his astonishment what he saw was something that they needed the most in this situation. He called Orion.
There under the dead leaves was a small red, switchblade. Michael looked at Orion with a smile and they both squeaked and hugged each other. Michael picked up the switchblade and tucked it in the waistband of his pants. Now they were ready to leave. "It feels like a Garage Sale, but everything is free" Michael joked. Orion smiled in amusement and then they proceeded to bring out both of the segways, they were ready to leave. As they weren't so tired and they had a break they thought that they would walk the segways until they reached a flat ground. They both started dragging the segways. Michael thought that it wasn't as heavy as he thought it would be, which was nice. They pushed and kept going in the direction they were originally headed. After a few minutes Orion said that he felt like he heard a vehicle pass by. Michael was extremely tired at this moment, the dragging of the segways was proving to be a lot tiring but they had to reach a flat ground to use the Segways and there were a lot of bushes so they couldn't use them now. Michael reached and felt the blade which was still secured in his waistband.
