Michael and Dylan had caught the first shift they could, after recovering for a whole day. Since they had missed a day, they both decided to stay a night and get their hours in, they both did have holidays and they were allowed to take one, but it was strategically better if they could clock in more hours to make up for the time that they had lost. After all being a doctor was especially a hard job and a selfless service. Michael remembered that how he was switched to the medical division when he was young, and how it had shaped him as a person.
Michael was tired so he walked in to the cafeteria to get something to eat. Dylan had taken a break and now was in his office on a call with Vincent. Michael thought about the past days. They were again strangers. The closeness, the feelings, and that moment where everything had stilled now felt far away, Orion himself felt like a dream. It was hurting Michael. The distance and the silence was worse than a catastrophe. Michael sighed and punched for a cold coffee in the vending machine. The drink came down and as he bent to pick it up, another hand reached for it. It was Dylan. "Can I have this?" Michael smiled and nodded and got another one.
