Poetics

500 Words
"Are you ready?" Dylan looked at Vincent with eagerness. Vincent just smiled and nodded. "I can't believe that you wrote me a poem." Dylan had written a poem for Vincent, it started off as a song but it had soon turned into a poem. He had worked hard on this. He had never really been this happy and he wanted to convey his feelings. He took out that peice of paper and unfolded it. looking at his scrawled words he took a deep breath and then looked over at Vincent. "Vin, I've never been this happy. This is for you" "Broken as ever The sickle that weaves Oh how mine is almost over, This Tenebrous life Bereft your gaze into mine You're oblivious to upcoming time To the shore I am swept my dear Not before I recalled How you came into my life Under the unprecedented moonlit sky Your breath mingled in mine The thumping of your heart beat Coincide with the clashing knives Red trickles changing laced fate With every glance you lend me With every breath you let me It isn't magic but more like a will to live with you Stay, Breathe and Live with me, hold my hand through it all chain me, if you need to but never leave, I plead, not guilty, to being in love with you." As he finished reading his piece, he smiled at Vincent. He wiped away the pricking of moisture in his eyes. "Did you cry?" Dylan asked him with a smile, "Nope." came the answer. "You totally did!" Dylan felt his heart going a little sore, but then again, he liked this sweet and bitter ache that had washed upon him while reading the poem to Vin. Dylan was momentarily lost in his thoughts, hence he didn't see him when Vincent came over to Dylan and cupped his face in his hands. He had tears in his eyes but the brightest smile on his face. "You're still crying.," Dylan muttered, trying to control his smile. "Because of you." this comment made Dylan pout. Dylan decided to play this as the wounded puppy to get pampered. He let out a small whimper and then pushed Vincent away, turning his back to Vincent. He heard a soft and low chuckle. He waited and waited but he didn't feel Vincent close enough. He dared to turn around and saw that Vincent had pulled up a chair, his hair was messy, falling in the right places like he had run a hand through his hair. He had lost his coat and vest and his sleeves were rolled up to his forearms. His elbows were resting on his thighs and he was staring straight ahead at Dylan. The whole scene got Dylan's attention and his heart beat into overdrive. Vincent looked unbelievably hot. All the blood in DYlan's body went to his and somewhere else. Dylan's hands went to cover his front. Vincent smirked and Dylan almost spurted blood out at Vincent.
