Intervention

Michael~ Michael watched in horror as the knob to the door jiggle and then the key turn in the lock. He turned to look at Orion who was probably losing consciousness, The door opened and Michael stood in front of Orion and tried to hide him with his coat. The door opened and Michael felt a little bit relieved when he saw a familiar face. He rushed towards the man who was standing in front of Michael. "Dylan!" Michael exclaimed! He took Dylan's hand and closed the door behind him and locked it. He gripped Dylan, "Don't...freak out " Dylan nodded and then his gaze fell on the black and blue human covered in blood. His mouth fell open and he looked at Michael. Michael sighed and waited till Dylan's shock nullified. "Mikh! there's...a wounded man in your cabin!?" He whisper shouted. Michael just nodded solemnly. "You know him?" Michael nodded again. Dylan slowly walked to him, Orion was asleep, the painkillers had kicked in. Michael had especially waited till Orion to go to sleep because he did not want to see the thing on his side when he was awake. Michael had a fear that he might start crying. Dylan looked at Orion, "Damn, he's cute!" Michael gave Dylan a look. "How did you get him here, past all the nurses and the guards?" Dylan asked, walking towards Michael. Michael took a deep breath. "I didn't, he was here when I came back from my rounds." Dylan gasped. "A mystery!?" He whisper yelled. Michael just rolled his eyes, and then made a gesture of asking him to calm down. "Relax, Dylan." Dylan just nodded. Michael then pulled Dylan into a hug. "Where have you been sweetie?" Michael asked. Dylan stilled momentarily. "Oh! Just around, having a rendezvous" he chuckled. Michael pulled back and cupped Dylan's face. He leaned in and placed a kiss on his forehead, "I missed you, Trouble Maker" Michael said affectionately. Dylan just giggled and hugged Michael. They were like that for some moments Until they heard someone clear their throat. Michael and Dylan jumped back and then turned to Orion. He was awake and was looking at Dylan with a questionable expression, Michael read it pretty clear. He walked towards Orion and placed a hand very tenderly on his jaw. Orion looked up at Michael and then he blinked and smiled and waved at Dylan. Michael witnessed the change in Orion's eyes. It was a change of trust. Michael smiled and ruffled his hair softly. Dylan walked to them and smiled brightly at Orion. "So you're his new piece of candy?" The audacity!? Michael smacked Dylan across his head. His smile still hadn't budge. Michael just rolled his eyes and switched his attention towards Orion who was already looking at him, with an eyebrow raised. "You have candies?" Orion asked, But his eyes were vulnerable. Michael smiled affectionately. "Just you Princess." Dylan was just standing, looking at them with a weird gleam in his eyes. "What?" Michael asked him, Dylan just shook his head. Then his attention went to Orion's side. "We better hurry, Mikh" Dylan said. Michael nodded. They brought a sheet out and covered Michael's desk with it after clearing everything off of it. Michael helped Orion sit on the desk and then Michael stood in front of him and then asked him to raise his arms. Orion couldn't raise them far so Michael thought of an alternative. He looked at Dylan and he was already smiling holding out a pair of scissors. Michael took it ignoring the wink. Michael turned to Orion and then pulled at the end of Orion's shirt. With one swift upwards motion, Orion's shirt was cut off from the middle leaving him completely dumbfounded just staring at both of them. Dylan helped Michael in getting a new pair of gloves and then they both sanitized. Michael removed the rest of the shirt and what he saw made his heart stop beating almost. Was it a gun wound? Michael had no idea. Michael's gaze locked on to Orion's and he almost felt the moisture prick and his face get warmer by the passing second. Michael didn't know what to say. Dylan was as shocked as Michael but at least he was quick to recover unlike Michael who was standing staring at Orion with eyes filling with tears. Dylan elbowed him in the rib which hurt but at last it made Michael aware of his surroundings. He cleared his throat and helped Orion lay down on his good side. Michael had gone out earlier and signed himself off and then had just walked back in unnoticed. No one knew he was here, and no one had any business in his cabin. Dylan was on a holiday which was a very advantageous bonus. They started working together, slowly and carefully first cleaning the dry blood so that they could possibly have a chance of walking out with Orion without any interruptions. Michael and Dylan were efficient in their work. Dylan was blotting the excess disinfectant and solution while wiping off dirt and debris and Michael used forceps to remove any visible pieces of flesh or any other thing. They constantly switched jobs as they kept moving closer to the wound. Michael's heart rate was elevating as they kept getting closer to the wound, but he kept breathing deeply and focused on the task. He paused to check on Orion and found that he had fallen asleep. Michael looked at Dylan and gave him a thumbs up. They had also gotten spare masks to use as they didn't want the wound to get infected, they were professionals. Though they kept looking at each other with raised eyebrows. Okay. It was just Dylan who gave him the wiggly eyebrow look as he admired Orion's form. Michael just rolled his eyes and pointed at the wound. They came to the wound, the cleaning wasn't tedious but they had been extra careful as to not put pressure. Dylan was prepared with gauze pads if in case the wound started bleeding again, Michael nodded at Dylan as he picked up a fresh cotton ball and then slowly started soaking the wound with disinfectant. They heard Orion gasp and groan in pain. Michael placed a soft hand on Orion's hip, stilling him. His heart gave a painful wrench but Michael did not budge and he slowly swiped the boundary of the wound. It looked like something had grazed him pretty bad which had bruised his ribs too. Dylan blotted off the blood and the dripping disinfectant. Here we go again. They had blotted off almost all the debris and the dried blood. Now Michael was staring at what actually the wound was and why had it bled so much. Something sharp had made contact with Orion's side or he had been pushed against it and then pulled along side with it lodged into his skin. The thing had left a lateral deep abrasion like cut and naturally it had bled a lot. Maybe Orion had pulled it out and had stuffed some cotton or muslin before discarding it altogether. Michael checked the fibrinogen buildup to decide if he wanted sutures. They collectively decided not to because the cut wasn't worryingly deep and it was healing well. They still wanted to gauze it up as it would keep the dirt out. Michael found a perfectly wide plaster and after placing some cotton and ointment and plastered it against his torso. Michael felt relieved, he ruffled Orion's hair and smiled at Dylan. Michael was still a lot suspicious about any other wounds he might have, so they flipped him on his back and took off Orion's pants. Michael's mind wandered off but he was quick to recover and hide it. Luckily Orion was unscathed apart from some fine friction burns here and there. They just wiped those downs with clean cotton pads, otherwise he was okay. They let him sleep, Michael was sure to pop a small throw pillow under his head. Now that they were done attending to Orion they both discarded their gloves and masks and retired to the couch. After a few beats of silence Michael heard Dylan sigh heavily but then he remembered something. He shook Dylan's shoulder and motioned to the door with a small head tilt, to which Dylan nodded. They left Michael's office. They slowly walked down the hall and reached the coffee machine, No one had noticed them until now, and even if they did, I doubt they would be questioned. They got two cups and sat on the benches that were installed parallel to the refreshment machines. Michael gave Dylan a pointed look, "This is an intervention for you Dylan Earwood" Michael said sternly making Dylan cough. He looked at Michael with some sort of pleading eyes, but Michael was now immune to all kinds of Earwood defenses. Michael was not budging so Dylan sighed and groaned, "Don't be mad." "I got kidnapped by Vincent Alaric Carter." Michael doubled up coughing almost throwing up over the floor. "WHAT?" He screamed at Dylan. Dylan just nodded but asked him to shut up, "You don't mean THE Vincent Carter?" Dylan grimaced but nodded again. Michael was trying hard not to overreact. He grabbed Dylan and shook him, "Are you okay? You are not hurt are you?" Dylan said he wasn't hurt or traumatized or anything. Michael nodded, they sat down again, a solemn silence between them. Michael was feeling concerned for Dylan but on the other hand he was in mad rage. Dylan placed a hand on Michael's shoulder. The kid looked scared out of his wits. Michael took some deep breaths trying to calm down. Michael turned to Dylan and smiled, "So, you got kidnapped by the person you have been secretly in love with?" Michael smirked at Dylan. Dylan's jaw dropped at the question and he smacked Michael. "Ouch! What was that for?" Dylan just huffed, got up and started to leave. "Okay! I am sorry!" Michael called out to Dylan, he turned and motioned Michael to follow him. Michael caught him down the hall. "Let's get Orion some food." They got Orion some food and then they returned to Michael's office. Orion was still sleeping, Michael wanted to let him sleep some more. Dylan asked about how Michael knew Orion, despite wanting to say everything that Michael had gone through he didn't say anything. He had made an excuse of knowing him through some contacts and had gotten closer over time. Dylan gave Michael a suspicious look but he said nothing. Dylan just nodded and then he looked over to Orion who was now turning and groaning softly. Michael got up and rushed towards Michael, he stopped Orion from turning over to his wounded side. He decided to wake him up so that he could feed him. Even if the food was moderately bland he thought that it still tasted best when it was hot. He placed a hand on Orion's head, lacing his fingers in his locks, caressing. Orion opened his eyes and then pouted at Michael. "Was that a pout, boy?" Michael said with a stern voice. Orion smiled with his eyes closed. "Maybe.." Michael turned at the sound of a giggle and found Dylan eagerly listening to them. Michael gave him a sharp and back-off look. Michael smirked, he leaned in till he was at Orion's ear level, "Are you waking up, or do I have to bend you over my knee boy?" Michael whispered in Orion's ear. Orion groaned softly, turning to the source of Michael's voice and opening his eyes to find Michael's eyes gazing into his. Michael cupped Orion's face, his thumb caressing his cheek. Orion slowly turned and placed a soft kiss into Michael's palm. Michael's heart jumped out out of it's place and went wild. Michael placed a kiss on Orion's forehead. Michael helped Orion stand up and join them on the couch, he fed Orion while he and Dylan bickered about some normal work stuff and Orion listened to them both laughing at the unnatural bits. At this moment right here Michael felt complete. He saw Orion smile and laugh carelessly and talk. It felt almost normal thinking about the things that they had gone through together. He felt happy. Michael was too distracted so when Dylan opened his mouth, he fed him too. Both of them started snickering like teenage kids. Michael just smiled and continued to feed them both. He didn't feel like disrupting their moment, and he was happy.
