The day after the attacks, those people involved in Denver had several discussions trying to figure out why the four mine owners had been attacked. Similar discussions occurred on the ranches. Simultaneous attempts to kill four mine owners were outrageous, even for rough and tumble Colorado. Despite not fully comprehending why the attacks occurred, everyone was expecting something else to happen.
Robley was convinced that the real culprit was the man who supplied the camp before the attacks. He was frustrated that he had no concrete proof and no suspect to investigate.
