Prologue
This book contains adult content. Explicit language, s****l acts and domestic violence. If sensitive to these subjects, this may not be a good read for you!!!
"We were born to make manifest the glory of the Most High that is within us. It is not just in some of us, it is in everyone, and, as we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same; as we are liberated from our own fear and our presence automatically liberates others."
-Nelson Mandela
People always tell me how humble of a person I am. The thing is though, I have never really considered myself a humble person. You see, my philosophy is that no person is born or just chooses to be humble. I also feel the same way about common sense. Which is why I just ignore those people who display ignorance. Life just places certain obstacles within our journeys, that show us HOW to be humble. It's up to you to learn from those obstacles and live life humbly or stick to your own ways. Plenty of individuals go through many trials and tribulations to have gained the knowledge, that as quickly as you received it, it can be taken just as easily, which causes one to learn how to be humble. Nothing in life and I mean NOTHING, is guaranteed but life and death itself!
So, you're probably wondering what the hell this book is about. Well quite honestly, (lol) hell, I'm still trying to figure that out myself. Writing a book was never on my to do list, bucket list or whatever list humans give themselves, that allows them to feel as though they've accomplished something. I've just never felt that I had enough significant content that was interesting enough, to fill pages to create a book. Oh, before I forget; Hey!!! My name is Kamaliyah, Kamaliyah Desmond, you'll come to know me as Liyah or Kay Kay. I was born and raised on the South Side of Detroit and I currently live in Wyoming with my husband and our NINE children, YES, you read that right, nine. Over the years, I have ran into a few people who felt I've lived a life that was worthy to be shared, so here I am. Plus, you never know, it could very well be a young lady out there somewhere, that's living the same exact life and needed this book. So, grab your favorite drink (alcoholic or non), snuggle up with a blanket and get ready to enjoy my very interesting life.
I guess we should start from the beginning, well maybe not that far (that's a whole other book). Let's just say, winter of 2008 when my ex-husband re-enters my life......
