Release Me (On Hold)

Chapter 2

I cough in surprise and Isaiah gives me a sharp look. I blush and continue to place a cup of water next to everyone.

“A mate?” Isaiah asked Killian, “I thought you had one already.”  I believed the rumors were that he did have one, but I knew not to ask. Let Isaiah ask all the questions. 

“No, I have never had one but I've been to pack after pack looking for the perfect one, this is the last pack in the state.” Killian says.

Isaiah nodes his head. “We'll get all the unclaimed she-wolves together,” he says before turning to me. “Jaclyn can you make sure all unclaimed she-wolves meet in the big house?”

The big house was where all the pack members who didn't have a mate or any other place to go lived at, it was a four story building, the outside was painted white around it was a wall of roses and a big front yard. Other houses were built around it, if any humans walked in lost it'd look like a town to them, not a werewolf community.

'Yes sir,' I signed before leaving the office, Raphael and Alice were waiting for me as I walked out of the office.

'Alice what's wrong?' I asked, Raphael answered before she could.

“What's going on why did Uncle Isaiah call for all the unclaimed she-wolves?”

I shook my head and began walking to the pack house, it was a big deal to everyone else to get picked as an Alpha's mate, it was every girl's dream to get chosen to have a mate not everyone got that.

Raphael follows behind me, he holds my hand but doesn't speak. I knew what he was thinking, not only was there going to be an Alpha looking for a mate, but others in his pack and some in ours will take this time to choose a mate as well. Raphael and I always talked about it, I would have to go with the person who chose me.

When Raphael and I got to the pack house, -Alice who had a mate probably went home,- it was crazy people were coming and going, Isaiah came on a fast walk towards me.

“Are you sure?” he says, I nod I couldn't keep hiding, I also knew that he was going to have to choose a Luna with me always around he can't do that.

“I can't hide forever Isaiah. I'll be careful,” I tell him.

“Okay get in line,” Isaiah tells me. “Listen up everyone I need all the unmated she-wolves in one line all unmated guys you'll have to wait outside, Midnight Shadow gets first picks!” Isaiah yells over the crowd.

There were a lot of groans from the guys of our pack, some lady's laughed at them. The rest of us got in line, I got a lot of looks since every time an Alpha came looking for a mate I never got in line. I hide behind Isaiah.  “Alpha Killian, when you're ready.” Isaiah says stepping aside.

Killian started from the back of the line and pulled a couple of really beautiful girls, one had blonde hair the other had fiery red. He barely looked at them but I could tell he was picking them for him, because as soon as he started walking away the two men who were in the office this morning went to them.

A lot of girls cried when Killian walked past, especially when he stopped and started talking to some then just walked away. After a while he got to me, I looked straight at him, I knew he started talking to me. I wouldn't say anything.

I looked him in his icy blue eyes, I knew he was trying to see if he could overpower me especially since he was an Alpha but I wasn't going to bend, he nodded and then walked away. I hear some of the other girls laugh and start talking about how no one would want a mute freak.

Killian goes through the whole line before turning towards Isaiah, “I have chosen.” He says, the girls around me starting talking at once,

“Who is this lucky lady you have chosen, Alpha Killian?”

Killian half smiled at what Isaiah said.  “Her.” he says pointing my way. The talking stops at once, you could drop a pen in the room and it'd be the loudest noise.

“Her?” someone said “you have to be out of your mind, she hasn't said a word in years, plus why is she here she never came before and hasn't she been claimed I mean after all she has a son”

I turn towards Rose, a girl who's had the biggest crush on my brother and who hates that I am always around so she can't be with him. Truth is Isaiah doesn't like her because she sleeps with everyone in the pack.

“Rose, that's enough you may leave.” Isaiah snaps at her. 

“I have a right to be here if the freak does,” Rose growls.

“No,” Isaiah says using his Alpha voice “you do not and you were asked to leave.”

I don't remember moving but suddenly I was in her face. I lend down as if I was going to whisper something but instead I slapped her across the face.

Tears filled her eyes, I couldn't stop myself  smiling at the look she gave me as she left. “Jaclyn,” Isaiah sighed “really you shouldn't have done that.”

“What was I supposed to do? Let her get away with all the stuff she said about me cause I was chosen?” I said, I walked over to him.

He sighed again. “Of course not but I was handling it, look go find Rachael cool off and come back okay?”

I growled at him as I walked away. I hated when he tested me as a child, I was twenty years old and I wasn't a baby. I knew I had my reasons for why he had to be that way, over protective but sometimes I wish he didn't have to be.

“Mom?” Raphael's voice brought me back to the bigger picture.

“Hi baby,” I say, leaning down and kissing him on the head.

“Ugh mom, stop ew.” Raphael says laughing.

I smiled, I heard footsteps walking up to us, turning to see if Isaiah joined us. I was met face to face with Jasper. Rose followed closely behind.

“Isaiah wanted me to tell you that you two are to apologize to get each other and that your mate is going to send you with his Beta to pack some things,” Jasper says.

I couldn't help the glare I gave Rose. “What if I don't apologize?” I asked.

Jasper sighs “I don't know but I don't feel like getting in trouble so apologize please it's not going to kill you.”

It might as well, after everything she said about me, I thought.

Rose who I'm pretty sure doesn't know sign language wouldn't know if I did or didn't apologize to her.

I smiled and walked up to her. ‘Crazy ass b***h you are never getting with my brother no matter what you think. Do you really think that someone who sleeps around gets an Alpha as a mate? Not only that, a mate at all?’

Jasper who had been watching me started laughing at the confusion on Rose's face. “What?” She demanded “What did the freak say to me?”

This only made him laugh harder, Raphael didn't know what was going on since I haven't taught him bad words in sign language. It made me feel better to say all of it.

“She said she was soo sorry about slapping you.” Raphael lies.

“Good to know that the freak can apologize, sucks that Alpha Killian chose you, a mute freak how could you possibly run a pack without Isaiah?”

That's it this b***h really can't learn can she? I thought to myself before I jumped on her.

We both landed on the floor, instead of me just slapping her again I threw a good punch to her nose which bleeds after she screams out in pain. Jasper turns to get me off Rose, but I fight him and keep punching her.

“Mom, mom stop please.” Raphael says as he tries getting in between Jasper, Rose and I.

I could feel my wolf wanted to come out but I knew that would be dangerous, I stopped letting Jasper get me off of Rose. I don't stick around. I turn and head for the woods once far away from the pack I shift.

My wolf was a normal color, a light grey, the one thing that wasn't normal was my violet color eyes. It was a mark I had since I was a child, it's a sign that I have magic in my blood.
