Chapter 3

Isaiah

“Is what that girl Rose said true?”. Alpha Killian turned towards me as soon as Jaclyn was out of the room.

“In some ways, yes she haven't spoken in years, and yes she does have a son -” I was cut off

“You're trying to give me another man's mate?” Killian growled

“That wasn't want I was trying to do, Jaclyn was never been mated, she adopted.”

The other Alpha stopped pacing the office, we had left the others to finish picking mates. “Okay,” Killian sighed “why is it that she doesn't talk?” 

I bite my lip have didn't know if I should tell him or not. “I'll let Jaclyn tell you it's not my place to say anything.”

“It is as her brother!” Killian yelled 

“I might be her brother but she's allowed to have secrets I don't need to know everything about her, you know before today she never came to one of these things, when other Alphas came to find mates she hides, but at of nowhere you come and she suddenly wants a mate.” I say “Jaclyn has always been shy, but she's strong and I suddenly feel like I don't know her at all.”

Killian didn't get a chance to say anything when Jasper comes running in. “Alpha Grey your sister got in another fight with Rose and has run off into the woods.” 

“Damn it okay,” I said running my hand through my dirty blonde hair.

“What are you gonna do?” Jasper asked.

“What we always do keep the woods clear, I'll go after her, Jasper while I'm gone would you show Alpha Morris to Jaclyn's house?” 

“Of course sir,” he said with nod. Once they leave I sit at my desk, how can I do this with another pack here? I thought to myself. 

Taking a deep breath I lend back in the chair and close my eyes.

Jaclyn

I ran around the pack line, the one that if I  stepped wrong I would be in Midnight Shadows land, possibly killed. I tried to clear my head but everything Rose said wasn't a lie, I haven't said a word in years since the death of my parents and Olivia. 

I kept everyone's secret, Isaiah’s, Raphael's, and mine. It was killing me, Jaclyn? Isaiah's voice spoke to me, somewhere in the distance. 

I stopped running and shifted but glad to be alone, I walked to the nearest tree and grabbed clothes that Isaiah and I place in the trees in cause I needed a run. I am here brother. Isaiah appeared out of nowhere. As soon as I told him I was listening.

Come home please, Alpha Killian wants to take you home. Isaiah stood in front of me, like he was there but I knew he was cause I could see through him.

I sighed. Do you think I made the right choice? This is very dangerous, and now I have you using magic. 

I don't know Jaclyn, I can't keep you from wanting to do something normal like getting a mate, just be careful.

He disappear, taking a deep breath I image standing in the office, of the courthouse where we have meeting at, it was like a flash of a camera one second I'm in the woods the next I'm in front of Isaiah who's setting at a desk facing the back window. 

“I don't really think he's a bad guy,” Isaiah tells me as he faces me.

‘Seriously you guys talked for like ten minutes and now you're okay with me going win him? Why didn't you tell me when we were in the woods?’ 

“Hey, you asked if it was a bad idea, it might since you won't be around when I shift . . .” Isaiah trails off.

‘I know but what if you do what we always talked about? Why don't you leave and find a mate?’ 

“I couldn't when I was protecting you.” 

‘ And this is why I chose to get claimed Isaiah you always wished for a family of your own, you can't do that with me around.’ I tell him sitting in the chair in front of him.

A knock comes to the door, before Isaiah could argue about this. “Come in” Isaiah calls not really sure who could be there.

Raphael comes through the door followed but a black eye Rose and Alpha Killian.

‘Raphael?’ I asked ‘what are you doing here?’  

Raphael had tears running down his face, I pick him up and we sat in a chair together. I wiped his tears away, “Alpha Killian I'm so sorry for the wait on Jaclyn this is all so new to her and she overwhelmed.”

Killian nods “yes in deed, but I've come to tell you that my men and I are ready to go home, if Jaclyn chooses to be my mate she needs to pack.” 

“Of course Jaclyn, Raphael please go.” 

“Um Rose is there something you need?” Isaiah asked.

“Yes, I wanted to know what you're going to do to Jaclyn for trying to kill me.” Rose cries.

“I'm not doing to do anything, What I believe is that she had a good reason to you are not completely innocent.” 

Rose’s mouth dropped open, “I don't see how that's fair look what she did to me!” 

“Yes, I see but did you or did you not give her a reason?” Killian says before Isaiah could.

Rose doesn't say anything just walks out. Killian looks at Isaiah who just smiles, I take Raphael's hand and start the short walk to my tiny village house.

“Is it true?” Alice's voice comes from behind me. I turned in surprise.

‘What?’ I signed 

“You were chosen as Alpha Morris mate.” Alice says looking at me with wide eyes.

Alice has been working for me ever since I got Raphael. She knew almost everything about us, I knew I couldn't lie.

‘Yes, Alpha Morris chose me as his mate.’ 

Alice smiles, “I'm happy for you after the death of your parents and sister I never thought you'd look for a mate.” 

I smiled back, ‘either did I but something told me to take a chance, not only that Isaiah would never get a mate if I didn't.’ 

“He's always looking out for you isn't he?” 

I nod and we continue our walk. When we get there, four people stood around the yard. The two guys from the meeting this morning and the two girls that Alpha Morris chose for them.

The firey red head girl stood close to the blonde head guy, and the light brown hair guy was with the blonde girl. 

“Luna,” the light brown hair guy says bowing a little. 

Raphael hide behind me, as the blonde girl came closer. “Hi, I'm Callie Torres .” she said “and this is Adrian Peterson” 

I waved the other couple came over “I'm Zoe Melrose, my mate Gideon Dixon.” 

“I'm Raphael Grey and this my mom Jaclyn Grey.” 

“Your Alpha Morris mate now right?” Callie asks 

‘Yes,’ I answered.

By the confusion on everyone's but Adrian's face I could tell they didn't know sign language. 

“Ah of course, Alpha Morris wanted me to help you pack some important things.” Adrian signed back. 

I gasp, no one but Raphael and Isaiah ever knew sign language. I was shocked.

Adrian smiles. “my sister deaf, has been after an accident. Had to learn to talk to her.” 

‘Oh, I'm sorry it's just I haven't met anyone who could sign other than my brother and my son.’ 

Raphael still hidden behind my leg, still had tears in his beautiful honey colored eyes. I didn't understand why he could be so upset. 

Adrian just smiles and doesn't say anything. I grab Raphael's hand and unlocked the door, I wave everyone into the living room. The house wasn't really dirty just had cups and crayons on the coffee table, on one side you had shoes peeking out under the table.

‘Anyone need anything? A drink?’ I asked Adrian translate for me.

Nobody said anything so I dragged Rachel up the stairs. Leaving the rest downstairs, ‘what's wrong?’ 

“He's not going to let you take me.” He whispered. 

‘Raphael I will fight him on it, if he wants me to be his mate, his going to have to let me take you.’

“Jaclyn?” Isaiah's calls from the stairs, I leave Raphael in our room.

‘Hey,’ 

Isaiah sighs “Alpha Morris is ready to go, but we have a problem Raphael isn't to go with you.”

My heart stops, I froze in place, Isaiah leaves to go up the door since someone knocked. Killian was standing awkwardly outside my house, if I wasn't so angry at him I'd laugh.

‘I'm not going.’ I say when Isaiah looks at me again, I rush to my room and slam the door. Raphael had packed some more of my clothes. My violin, some music sheets and my favorite picture of my family the last one before most had died. 

I smiled at Raphael, he knew me so well, I hated that if I really wanted a mate I'd had to leave him. I couldn't deal with it it'd break me in half, after everything I can't just suddenly leave. 

“He isn't going to let you take me is he?” Raphael asked. I shake my head. 

A knock comes to the door but I don't open it, “Jaclyn please you chose to find a mate, and this is what you wanted you got your mate, now you have to go with him.” 

I sighed it was true I opened the door, “I didn't think I'd have to leave Raphael behind he is my son. I won't leave him.” 

“Jaclyn just go for now, try to get Killian to let you take Raphael, and once you do I'll send him over okay?” 

I started crying I don't think I can do this. I can't just leave my baby. 

‘I can't I just . . . . I can't Isaiah and you know that.’ 

Isaiah sighed deeply, “you chose to find a mate today. You chose, and now you have to follow through the choice you made.” 

I grabbed the things that Raphael and I packed, I headed down the stairs, Killian was there with Adrian and I think Callie they were talking about something so I stood off to the side. 

Raphael can down seconds after me, he hugged me as he saw that I was still crying, I never left Raphael ever I took him with me everywhere. 

Isaiah came down last, Killian looked up at us.

“You ready?” He asked taking my suitcase from me.

I hugged Raphael closer. I nod at Killian he hands the rest of my things to Adrian who I'm guessing is he's Beta. 

“The boy stays here, I can't have my pack thinking badly of you.” Killian says 

I nod and kiss Raphael on the head and let go of him. 

Killian grabs my hand and drags me out of the house the only house I ever known since the death of half my family.  I cry as Killian pulls me towards a black truck that was parked in front of my house. 

“Your brother said you don't shift very often so I thought you'd like a drive since this is going to be all new for you.” 

I only and climb into the truck, Killian shuts the door and climbs into the driver's side. I look out the window, I don't bother looking at him. 

He doesn't try talking to me just turns on the radio and that's it.
