ALEXIA’S POV.

I stared at Lex blankly. I felt a cold sensation down my spine. I struggled to make sense of what I had just heard. I fixed my gaze on him to see if he would laugh and tell me that he was just joking, but the more I looked at him, the more serious he became. I tried to speak, but I was stuttering, and I struggled to complete a sentence.

“Your wife?

“Yes, it doesn't have to be anything serious; I just want you to act as my wife, and we will sign a contract for five years, and after that, I will give you $50 million.

My heart skipped a beat. Even if I had to work for my entire life, I wouldn't be able to make much money. With that amount, I wouldn't have to worry about my mother’s treatment anymore. The offer was too good to be true. I wasn't thinking about the consequences or the flip side of this deal; all I wanted to do was say yes and accept the deal.

“Yes!! I will do it.

“Perfect!!! I like women who make smart choices in life.

Lex brought out the contract papers from his briefcase and handed them over to me with a pen. I was so shocked; I didn't expect it to be that soon.

“You walk around with that paper?

“I had it all figured out; I was the man who paid for all the drinks and requested the bar give it out to the ladies. I was going to make this offer to any lady that sits close to me tonight, and here we are.

“Why are you doing this, if I may ask?

“You don't get to ask me questions; you can go through the contract after you sign.

Without thinking twice, I put my signature on the contract. The biggest mistake I made was signing the contract without reading the clauses. I was too desperate, and all I wanted was money for my mother’s treatment. After I put my signature on the paper, Lex brought out a diamond ring from his pocket, and when he opened it, my jaw dropped. It was a one-double-halo micropave diamond engagement ring valued at $100,000.

I wept as he put it gently on my finger. I have never worn anything that expensive. Was the universe pranking me? Or was I hallucinating? Or maybe God was just trying to compensate me for losing my job.

“My shopper will collect all the designer clothes and bags you need; you need an upgrade; you are now the wife of Lex Lutherford. Are you ready to ride with me?

I tried to reach out for my bag, but Lex told me not to take it. I only took out my valuables that were in the bag and my box that I left with the security. I was tipsy, and before I left the bar, I took the last shot of tequila. I got outside and saw Lex’s car; it was a Mercedes-Maybach G 650 Landaulet. The interior was to die for.

We got into the car and he drove off to his mansion. The mansion was so big that it took us over ten minutes to get to the main entrance from the gate. I was in awe of the edifice standing in front of me.

“Welcome home, Alexa.

Lex held my hand and took me into the main mansion. As soon as we got in, I saw seven maids lined up to welcome me.

“Welcome home My lady, I am your maid. My name is Lola.

Lola led the way and I followed. She took me to Lex’s room and gave me a hot bath. I was soaked in goat milk and by the time I came out, my skin was like a newborn. Lola moisturized my skin with a lavender body lotion and for a few seconds, I forgot my reality, which was nothing but a broke girl who couldn't afford her mother’s medications. Has that changed?

“You are now ready to consummate your marriage.

Lola left the room, and by the time I came out of the bathroom, Lex was already lying down naked on the bed waiting for me.

“You look beautiful.

I was blushing. He came closer to me and kissed me softly on my neck. I was melting into outer space, and when he kissed me on my lips, I could taste his strawberry lip balm. Lex’s touches were so soft; he was the true definition of a perfect gentleman. He was touching every sensitive part of my body, and he finally picked me up and placed me on the bed. When the mood was right, he started thrusting slowly, and I clung on tightly to the bedsheet as I moaned his name silently. I was trying to contain myself because the s*x was so good; it was the most pleasurable moment of my life. He was kissing and caressing my body, and when we finally reached the climax, he collapsed on the bed, and we slept off. He cuddled me, and I felt warm. I still couldn't believe everything was real; it felt like I was going to wake up from the dream.

I slept off in his arms, smiling like I had just won the lottery. I tried to have a good and peaceful night's rest, but my phone kept buzzing nonstop, and I couldn't ignore it anymore, so I stopped and went to the table where I kept my phone and saw that it was the nurse calling. I had no fear of taking the call this time because I was a Billionaire's wife and I could handle the bills now.

“Hello?

“Alexa!! Where have you been? We have been calling you since noon.

“Nurse, if it is about the bill, I will transfer it to the hospital’s account first thing tomorrow morning. I will even pay in advance for her two months of chemotherapy.

“That is not why we are calling you, Andrea. Your mother, we lost her this afternoon.

I froze in shock, and my phone fell off my hand and scattered on the floor. My mom was gone!!
