TIFFANY
I moved aside the sheer white curtains on Ruby’s front windows and stared at two of my three mates as they jogged off to God-knew-where.
Hopefully home to get ready for burgers with me in three hours. But who knew? Life was full of surprises.
“Who were they?” my mom asked from behind me.
I jumped and turned to look at her. “I think they’re my mates.”
Mom’s eyes were worried and shadowed as she stared at me. “You think?”
“I mean, I know. Well...” I shook my head and laughed. I’d never been able to talk to my mom about boys. You’d think it would be easier as you got older, but it’s still not.
I shook myself and looked Mom square in the eye. “Their names are Oliver, Jason, and Fin. And yes, they’re all my soul mates. Just like Ruby and Bella, I have three.”
