Kaspian massaged his temples as Stryjek closed the door to Tata’s office behind yet another villager. The demands that the witches pay for the death of the cooper’s son had been piling up all day. With Mama still missing, rumors circulated that she’d been taken by the witches as well. The search continued, with guards spreading outward, to farther and farther corners of Rubin. He would be out there heading the search himself, if this never-ending stream of complaints would cease.
