ARIEL POV
“You got drugged?” Mia shrieked over the phone, spilling the cup of coffee she was drinking on her table.
“Yes,” I replied anxiously, fidgeting with my fingers.
Since I resumed work, I haven't seen Cassie and things got even more complicated. I have to attend to all the work the arrogant man was giving me. He wouldn't even glance at me or acknowledge my presence.
He felt like I was some person he wouldn't want to be with.
“Who the f-ck did that?” She questioned again and I sighed. “Wait, did something happen after you got drugged?” She inquired, sitting upright to get a better view of my expression while I nodded in response.
“Promise me you won't yell, scream or make a fuss about this,” I asked and she raised her hands.
“If this isn't something to make a fuss about, I won't be so dramatic. But, I hope it won't be what I'm guessing right now,” she responded while I inhaled deeply.
This thing was getting over my head and sharing it out with Mia was the best option.
“Cassie drugged me,” I announced and she gasped.
“That Crazy Cassie you talked about? I am coming over.” She yelled and I shook my head in regret.
“You see, this is exactly what I'm talking about. I can't believe your promise when it comes to things like this,” I retorted and a frown appeared on her face.
“Yes, you can't believe me because I won't take this from anyone.”
It would be better not to talk about the s*x thing that happened. She would just go on and on making a big fuss about it and I hated to think she would be here.
“Get us food to eat. Lunchtime is near,” one of the staff said as she gave me a disgusted look before dropping the money to my face.
“Who's that incompetent fool? What do they take you for? Some slaves or what?” I heard Mia scream over the phone and I ended the call immediately.
Always the fierce type. I wondered what it would be like if she worked here in my position. She would have beaten up all the staff and would have insulted the boss, earning some sack letters to her door.
The telephone before me rang and I picked up the call.
“This is Ariel 23 on the line,” I said and I heard a scoff across the phone.
“Get me my morning coffee.” I heard that husky electrical voice speak into the phone while I inhaled tiredly.
He was here again.
“On it,” I replied and dropped the telephone before rushing out of the company to the office cafeteria.
Sometimes I wonder if things are done this way. Mia had said severally that I was only meant to be running errands for the boss but it turned out, I was an errand girl for all the staff.
“The usual,” I said to the serving woman and she brought out their package.
“I want a cup of coffee.” I requested and the woman stared at me.
“What type?” The question caught me off guard as I gazed in confusion.
He was the new boss and Smith loved Latte coffee.
“Expresso,” I replied with a smile and she handed it over to me.
Getting into his office, his eyes were fixated on the files in front of him as he asked me to drop them on the table.
I walked out of the office after giving a last glance. I just wanted to poke his handsome face. Bite off his nose and make him pay for whatever things he did to me but on a second thought, he wasn't responsible for the situation. He just acted like a jerk.
The telephone rang again as I took my seat and I picked up the call.
“What the hell did you bring into my office, Miss Ariel? Are you dumb?” His loud husky voice made me flinch to the back as I raised the telephone from my ear to breathe.
“What's the issue, sir?” I inquired and his sinister laugh freaked the hell out of me.
“Perhaps when you get into my office, you will understand the gravity of what you just did,” he revealed, ending the call to my face.
Shit.
I sprinted into his office and the next thing that happened made me jump backwards in fear.
He raised his eyes at me, throwing the cup of coffee in my direction.
“What is this rubbish?” He asked as I gulped down the lump that formed in my throat nervously.
“What type of coffee is this?” He inquired while I struggled to put out some words.
“Es…Espresso.” I stuttered and he was stiff.
“Since when do you start to dictate my preference?” He questioned coldly. I shook my head in disagreement.
“I just figured, you would love the espresso more,” I replied and he gave me a deadly stare.
“You figured?” He snickered coldly. “I suppose you should be out bringing in my Cappuccino Coffee,” he said, playing with his pen as I walked out of the office.
I inhaled and exhaled deeply as I tried to be normal.
“Why is the princess's face in horror? Have you seen a ghost?” I heard that familiar voice say from my back, startling me again.
“Mark” I called, taking in my breath. “You finally showed up,” I said and he smiled.
“Must be seeing a lot with the new boss,” he teased, a smirk appearing on his face as I smacked him.
Mark was the first person to be nice to me at work and he would always make things fun. I preferred to call him My Guy. He was one of a kind.
“Says someone who would still be in trouble.” I scoffed and he scoffed.
“He's a jerk!” I exclaimed in frustration and my mouth soon hung up in the air when I heard a cold voice speak behind my back.
“Am I?”
